- duncandog, on 10/12/2007, -1/+88I have comcast and have no problem accessing this site. Check your facts before sending out false alarms.
- chicagospur, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15Joost working on both XP and OSX and I'm on Comcast. Did they upgrade their software to 0.92?
0.91 fails with a connection error according to the mail Joost sent me a couple of days ago.
Here's the mail...
Apologies to all - but we've got a new Joost version 0.9.2 ready for you
- as your old 0.9.1 is no longer working (with a very unfriendly error
message as well).
You can login and download the new 0.9.2 here:
http://www.joost.com/download
Our apologies for this - but this is all part of being a beta.
As you may know - we use SSL technology to protect your privacy. Once
every other year or so these certificates need to be renewed. That
moment came, for the first time in our existence, yesterday.
Unfortunately we did not realize that we had a copy hardwired into the
0.9.1 client by accident.
Hence this new 0.9.2 build.
We've also taken the opportunity to upgrade all our Long Term Storage
machines; they are more than 4 times as efficient now. So if you have
experienced any stuttering in the past - do try again and tell us if our
fixes have worked.
Thanks a lot,
Dirk-Willem, Joost - interiot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15Same here, I can see the website okay through Comcast, though I don't have an account to confirm whether you can view videos.
- kbeeveer46, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12Using Comcast and it works fine here.
- Lou3000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9I'm a Joost Beta tester and a Comcast subscriber, and I have had no problems. I don't know if this varies from market to market, but in Chicago it is coming through fine.
- s14sh3r, on 10/12/2007, -9/+17I'm in ur comcast, blockin ur joost
- bmaltais, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Possibly a false alarm...
- masgrada, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Could be you're using too much bandwidth on the thing and someone noticed. They often do sneaky things like that. Just be glad they didn't cancel your cable like they've done to others.
- Cbeck527, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Indeed, I had comcast issues until I switched to OpenDNS.
OpenDNS FTW! - Branden, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5It's probably just a DNS error or something. I also have Comcast and don't have any problems accessing this site.
- kefler, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5no problem with comcast here. Inaccurate.
- JennyWMR, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I got comcast and it works. buried.
- mbthompson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I'm getting on just fine as well. Try changing your dns servers to OpenDNS, this solved most of my problems with Comcast not working with other things.
- selectodude, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6I'm in fine.
Buried as inaccurate. - bmaltais, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3How can you test it work when you are not a Joost beta tester?
- chrisblau, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Site works for me, but the service itself can't connect. Judging by all the responses, though, I'm willing to bet the problem is on my end.
Oh, and I'm in Mountain View, California. - foxymcfox, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Ditto with regards to the site...I'll have to check out the app. later as it's on my other computer.
- dmason, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3They have horrible DNS servers. Maybe that's the problem.
- mp3dog, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Works fine for me in Southwest Florida.
Reset your modem, idiot!!! - bmaltais, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2How dumb! Works for me? And you need an invite? Come on!
- AhrenBa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I can see it also...
- fullphaser, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Chatt town Tennessee works fine here.
- osbjmg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Who is digging this? It's purely false, come on guys - have some credibility.
- Raaben, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I have no problems...
- tribalsun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Because people are digging the ***** out of it without even checking it like they do with half the crap on digg.
- Hellmark, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2From what I read of it, it appears as if the people having issues over Comcast are canadian. It is likely that Comcast Canada is blocking things that is available in the US.
- Brightstar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Issues in New Jersey. Unable to access website.
- Branden, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@satanael:
They exchanged some areas. Time Warner didn't buy any of Comcast out. Adelphia is a different story, however. - Kenji32, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Buried as inaccurate. Comcast in San Fran good to go.
- remthewanderer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I'm a Comcast user who can access Joost.
Although it is worth noting that Comcast throttles VOIP. Skype video calls are terrible using Comcast. Verizon DSL on the other hand is crystal clear. I know this could be a localized problem for me but it is something to mention. ***** Comcast. I can't wait for FIOS!!!! - javip, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2with every comment saying this is innacurate and that it's being buried, how the hell did this still make front page!!
- MisterCookie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Flagged as inaccurate.
- bob3dod, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1same here. no credibility to this story. sad...
- TurtleBeoulve, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Site and service down for me. I can get to the site through proxy.
- IpHa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I have comcast and it works fine.
- fuzzmeister, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Works fine for me in MA.
- dgulbran, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hmmm... yeah, I have Comcast, and Joost is working fine here (in Chicago)...
- tribalsun, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Tell your parents to check the child filters in place & stop raising false alarms. Comcast in Maryland, works fine.
Joost is Comcastic !1!!1! - stalefries, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Sorry bud no PMs on Digg. Besides, people hate beggers.
- zepoldesign, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I have Comcast and it works for me.
- xdevit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wouldn't mind getting an invite myself. Looks like a clean setup.
Also I'm on Comcast and have no issues accessing the site. - pirate2786, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah no problems here and I also have comcast... dugg down: inaccurate
- blbennett, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm in Roseville, CA and it DOES NOT work for me. It's a real issue and needs to be taken care of as once a few months ago I was able to visit the site but now, nothing. I had to download the .exe for the beta from work and I brought it home and it can't connect to the JOOST Network.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1weird, works for me
- mikeallen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1philly market works fine

- derekivey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1No problem loading Joost here. Marked as inaccurate.
- Bowlasoup, on 03/22/2008, -0/+0Joost said it was their fault. http://www.physorg.com/news96285884.html
