- teh_toaster, on 10/12/2007, -4/+44I prefer to use a FF extension ( https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?id=1993&application=firefox), works just about anywhere.
- xenoNfluX, on 10/12/2007, -5/+36Or you could just do Tools -> Page Info -> Media in Firefox. No extensions required.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+23because people hate tools who go into fits everytime they see a "dupe"
- pronouncable, on 10/12/2007, -3/+18Or we can be grateful a site is trying to simplify something for all of us.

- Larke2000, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7i agree, keep it simple.
- xboxing, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4If you're a Safari user...copy the link, open the downloads window, and paste it in there...works like a charm.
- rohcky, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3That doesn't work for certain sites. Best way to get those vids (if you're using Windows) is to snoop through "c:documents and settings/local settings/temporary internet files"
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Cuase him saying dupe is a dupe ;)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3and i guess youre wasting time by being here...
go do your stuff. - Thorpe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Shame Yahoo! Music can't be done, yet.
- meatbites, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5It you're going to complain, how about offering something constructive?
For example:
'Choose the site you want to download from.' might be best written as 'Choose the site from which you want to download.'
It's apparent to me that the writer of this step doesn't necessarily know what a preposition is, no less a professional writer, so this is a little more helpful than a flame.
Back to the topic, it's a very impressive site. Nice work. - nuxx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2nice! my bro and I have been trying to find something to use to save vids from YouTube and the like...+digg
- philz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@JakeMcMahon
Open the popup, right-click below the movie, current-frame, frame-information, media tab. - unicom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2well it helps for google video but other than that you could just you know left click adn choose propeties then put the address into google then save as. Thats what i do and thats wht this site does too.
- VenDrake, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I can't get your suggestion to work for Yahoo Movie trailers. Any thoughts?
Example: http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1808505212/trailer - diehard2k5, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Google video's already let you download. What's the problem?
- Agret, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@rohcky
That's only true if you're using Internet Explorer.... - airjrdn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1How can I get this one - http://www.comedycentral.com/sitewide/media_player/play.jhtml?itemId=58791
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1use the videocodes4u ripper. they are just launch videos anyway
- Cam_86, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I want a simple place to get launch videos.... There was that blog that had a script, that allowed you to get the stream URL, so you could capture it with VLC/getfast, but it was closed down... and was not really that simple either.
Anyone got some pointers? - hypersloth, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Editing Step 1 to read "Choose the site you want to download from, dumbass" would correct the preposition problem.
- philz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Here you go:
(Trailer 1)

Just wanted to share this with you all because you probably want to save youtube videos too.
- RobSaint, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Pity it doesn't work with sites like www.visit4info.com and only the sites on that list.
When it said choose "OTHER" I was expecting to be able to download from other sites not just the one listed on the drop down menu, which are the same as the ones on the front page. - zivarik, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1the problem with "download embeded" firefox extention is that it only works on some files. like FLV flash video wouldnot work...(there goes youtobe site) so i hope someone makes a better extension for firefox or update the old one
- xNaquada, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1thanks teh_toaster...for the extension!
- ZackRabbit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Anyone know whats a good program to convert .FLV to either .AVI or .MPG
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1http://v99.youtube.com/get_video?video_id=3Dz8dMwCk7c
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2hi, its says LEFT-CLICK for google avi files, if u right-click u get gibberish.
- tsukiyo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Am I the only one that thinks it's just a matter of time until all these video providers wise up on this and throw up a storm on these guys? Don't get me wrong, this is great! But they're not gonna like it...
- firehydra2k, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Very nice. I know how time consuming it is to rip videos from those websites and converting them.
This is going on my list of websites to remember!
Just wish they used a friendlier codec for the avis... - Nothlit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I don't think this works anymore for YouTube. I just tried to download the following: http://youtube.com/watch?v=3Dz8dMwCk7c (http://www.youtube.com/get_video.php?video_id=3Dz8dMwCk7c) and the "get_video.php" file that they tell you to download and rename comes down as zero bytes.
- malhtiek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i wish this would let me download the videos on ESPN Motion. If anyone knows how to save the videos on ESPN, please reply
- CrazyForSW, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Much better than downloading a seperate program. Thanks for the link.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yay, thanks!
This digg is useless now. :-P - Livewire, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2great extension.
someone needs to do something like this for pandora.com. either an extension or a site that let's you search for any song on pandora. - angrydroid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1If converting video is your wish Riva FLV encoder is the tool you seek.
http://www.videohelp.com/forum/archive/t259578.html - CarbonAndroid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Excellent, thanks teh_toaster
- Michael24, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Javi Moya ( http://videodownloader.net , http://javimoya.com/blog/youtube_en.php ) Spam and plagiarize work to keepvid and diverse authors. They are announcing more than 60 sites when in his web puts 58
> New site added (28-4-06) , Supported Sites: 58.
of which many not even work. In addition several times of way deliberate and repeated have sent this same news to obtain publicity. Is the worse thing than I have seen, the firefox extension is plagiarized of others of mozilla without giving the credits to its authors. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0http://v123.youtube.com/get_video?video_id=CDx1GLqvBO8
http://v201.youtube.com/get_video?video_id=wJZlZP0vbCE
http://v141.youtube.com/get_video?video_id=-J7ipvgBLGc
no way i know how to decode it though... - ridd1e, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0bboyblueguy, how did you guess the server which is needed to download the file? (v99). Please tell me
- nonchallant0819, on 03/28/2008, -0/+0This is a great story... found this one through http://www.google.com

http://www.TopNotchCarpentry.com - onzo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0KeepVid's webmaster copied the javimoya's code, and you can check that it's true, because more than 50 days ago it was digged. Look! -> http://digg.com/software/Download_videos_from_Youtube,_Google_Video_and_iFilm_directly_ , It's true that javimoya.com -> http://javimoya.com/blog/youtube_en.php copied the same design, but if you are able to read spanish, he explained and said that he has copied his system so he would copy the keepvid design. So... we can see that KeepVid is a cheeky and stupid...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0lol. the idea of having a script that retreives a download link has been done many times in many forms eg. bookmarklets, greasemonkey, and yes even webscripts. so the idea claiming that keepvid copying javimoya is simply ridiculous.
after some digging, i found yet another site, similar to javimoya's old site: http://feelingtea.com/decode/google/index.php (posted on digg 120 days ago, compared to javimoya's posted 65 days ago.)
any webscripter would know that you can only copy client-side scripting, which keepvids code is completely different to javimoya's old code. to code the back-end you would have to do this from scratch.
so before you post up a comment from the founder's blog, do some research yourself first. - ridd1e, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Thanks for reply. Now I simply create batch download (automated) with v(*).youtube.com/get_video?video_id=ID where (*) is number from 1 to 300 and after some 404 errors I get working link. A tip for those who want to download films. :)
