Cram those keywords in there! - peterjmag, on 02/28/2009, -0/+10Firebug is awesome. Probably one of the best tools out there for helping amateurs and professionals understand everything that's going on in their code.
If you'd like to dig a bit deeper into Firebug's features, check out these posts: http://michaelsync.net/category/firebug - spdorsey, on 02/27/2009, -0/+8Firebug is a GREAT resource if you design/code for the web. This article is a great primer and may do you a lot of good if you're a novice OR advanced user.
- phrstbrn, on 02/28/2009, -0/+6Firebug is almost a MUST when developing Ajax applications.
I live in the Console/Script/Net tabs. - inactive, on 02/27/2009, -0/+6Great beginners article. If you are an AM, check this out.
- bradspry, on 02/28/2009, -0/+4I can't say enough nice things about the Firecookie add-in:
http://tinyurl.com/3dd78b - Lambeco, on 02/28/2009, -0/+4Firebug has seriously saved my life developing web applications. I can't say I'm excited about people from marketing "doing it themselves"... designers and coders are around for a reason.

- PathDaemon, on 02/28/2009, -0/+3For the love of god, please stop using camelCase where it doesn't belong.
Firefox. Firebug. Not that hard. - scy1192, on 02/28/2009, -0/+3How does Dragonfly compared to Firebug, web devs?
- peterjmag, on 02/28/2009, -0/+2My time to edit ran out, but I figured I'd mention that I'm not affiliated in any way with that site. It's just a good resource that I found recently.
- Forke, on 02/28/2009, -0/+2I ♥ Firebug
- Browzer, on 02/28/2009, -1/+3I like Firebug as much as the next guy, but I have a REALLY hard time believing a person who doesn't know HTML and/or CSS is going to have the patience to use it.
- smylie, on 02/28/2009, -0/+2Don't get me wrong - Firebug is great, and there's no way I'd be without it.
But by far the best tool for CSS editing on-the-fly is the firefox web developers toolbar.
It seems more natural to me to be able to just edit a css text-file, adding and removing selectors until you get the effect you want.
(Plus there's a few other goodies in there such as W3C validation etc =) - parkerault, on 02/28/2009, -0/+2I basically use firebug as a WYSIWYG editor by opening up raw markup and then typing in style attributes on the fly. Once everything looks right just copy the definitions into a stylesheet and you're good to go. I can't imagine how I got along without it. The only thing that would make it better would be if it fixed your internet explorer bugs for you. :)
- inactive, on 02/28/2009, -0/+2It sounds like it does a lot of what I use DreamWeaver for, but I just downloaded it to find out.
After years of hand coding, DreamWeaver has made eveything fairly simple... but you never know... it's worth a try. I can always uninstall it if it is just more crap.
My favorite plugin is the "Colorzilla" eyedropper. Stupid little thing, but it's magic. Same with the WebDeveloper addon... which does a lot more. - ngmcs8203, on 02/28/2009, -2/+3You got to love those PR agencies who hire consultants to teach them how to drive traffic for their clients.
- findhostcoupons, on 03/22/2009, -0/+1Being a beginning designer, I would like to express my thanks to person who submitted this story!
- berobreo, on 02/28/2009, -0/+1Firebug has some great features, but for CSS sometimes I prefer EditCSS, ..

- meckenrode, on 03/06/2009, -0/+1i've been using firebug for a while and it's a must-have along with colorzilla.

- isurfaddict, on 02/28/2009, -0/+1Firebug is one of the best tool for me. Whether using it for tweaking my designs or simply peeking at how other designers create theirs :)
