- mlinksva, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1XMP is a technology for embedding metadata across many filetypes. It has taken off/over in the high-end "Digital Asset Management" space and is migrating into the consumer/developer space with support in Vista, .NET 3.0 and a number of open source apps/libraries. Having the toolkit from Adobe under BSD avoids lots of redundant work and will speed adoption, which is a good thing, because generally embedded metadata sucks but there are lots of use cases for it.
- harlowsmonkeys, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1Where do you think /INDUSTRY/ standards come from?
- sremick, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1Title does NOT say it all. Title NEVER says it all. What is XMP? Why should the average digger care?
- schestowitz, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1Will these companies please just leave the Web alone and let /INDUSTRY/ standards be used to develop Web pages? The proprietary blog Web was not what timbl had in mind.
