- dasch, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7All you guys whining about stories being dupes:
1. Click the little green box labeled "problem?"
2. Select "duplicate story."
3. Shut up. - benmay, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Its up now.. Works Great.. Love IT!
- CapTech, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Although the translation might be a little off, it is better than nothing. I could see this being worthwhile for me to communicate with Parents (I'm a High School teacher) who do not speak English and I need to send an e-mail or print out instructions for them to assist their kids with assignments.
- stenspect, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i use www.ajaxwhois.com for research. Its the shiz, and sure as hell beats the Betterwhois.com Anyone who thinks AJAX sux probably had problems with it back in the day. Gmail works fantastically too!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Fun little experiment: repeatedly cut and paste the translated text back into source text while inverting the translation.
In fact, I'm going to coin a new term here: "tr() flip noise coefficent" is the number of time that the above experiment can be done before the meaning of the original text is completely lost (even to the person who typed it in).
With this particular translation, we begin a quick decent into the incoherent after tr(2). - scutter, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Ajax plus slow or overburdened web site = really crappy interface.
- bilton, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0first time I've seen it and I like it.. dugg
- Gullop, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It's a bit slow....
- SCHNOZAGIZ, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0this ability has been on the mac for a while
--digg - oldcyborg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It is NOT proof of concept, IF it doesn't work correctly. THe CONCEPT IS translation. I can do that as well than the program, by logic and intuitive tho't process. I just DON'T want to, and being wrong is not a good thing in the translation business. Better to keep mouth shut and be tho't ignorant, than to open mouth, and remove all doubt. (old saying) sorta....
Duped and flawed. That IS Proof of concept~~ I am just not sure What OF???? hehehe
cyborg
nah - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The AJAX whiners here make me laugh, considering they are posting on digg.
- snlildude87, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0to translate a single word -> append a space
- ifonly, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0OMG AJAX! WHOOPD-DOO
- popetorak, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0its a proof of concept, like a beta
kicks ass - terminalcode, on 07/31/2008, -0/+0works well enough. good post
- Buddybot111, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0slow and bad translations
- Psykus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Meine Pfannkuchen sind flaumig.
- crapiolio, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0too basic.
- sk545, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0los torvalds tienen bolas.
- Jackolicious, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0poor translations. How about that for a comment.
- JamesTyler, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Ha ha!!! These days "ajax" is the key word. Just make something with ajax and it'll be on the front page of digg.
+dugg - theone3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This would be more useful with someone watching over your shoulder.
- Arcotik, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The German translator is off for sure.
- ebunton, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0it crashes
- Philbert, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I don't care if it's a dupe, It's the first time I've seen it and I don't have all day to go hunting around to see every story I look at was already posted by someone else. I liked this so I'll digg it. I typed in a few German sentences I know and it didn't always give the results I expected, but they still made sense. Which is more than I can say for Babelfish or Google.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Esto sería agradable, si no era tan lento e inexacto.
- Akorbi, on 02/10/2009, -0/+0This is a fun toy, but it's not great for technical translation. I wouldn't use it for business uses, but for fun why not. Please check out our blog for more information about the industry... www.akorbi.com/blog
- paintball102089, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0this thing is crap. it does direct translations so it makes no sense.
- exoendo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0As much as I like this... Reported as dupe.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I like how it translated "to the ***** moon" as "a la luna de mierda."
But--I ain't no hater. This is good progress. ++! - prophet05, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Sucky translator....it doesn't even understand 'como estas.'
- rcomegys, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Éste es realmente el coger fresco.
BTW, Yeah, I'm also sick of people complaining about dupes. The first comment lists three stories for the same thing... THAT NEVER MADE IT TO THE FRONT PAGE! Man, you guys need to relax. - NoahFexPayton, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I just see a flood of live online apps sweeping the industry. http://paytonpress.blogspot.com
- jibonyc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0WOW! This is great! Its like fate....i have a Spanish independent project and this is perfect.....i hope its really accurate
- BaylorDawg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0doesn't yahoo already have something like this? not-dugg
- KyleGoetz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The Spanish translator is decent, but has difficulty differentiating between 'ser' and 'estar' ('to be') because one is primarily used for permanent situations and the other for less permanent.
For example: "Soy de Venezuela." (I am from Venezuela, uses 'ser')
"Estoy en Massachusetts." (I am in Massachusetts, uses 'estar')
To the guy who says it didn't know "como estas", that is probably because you misspelled it -- it is "cómo estás". Accents necessary. It still has problems with the phrase, but don't criticize machine translation if you can't even spell. All in all, the Spanish is translated decently, but not as well as a second-year Spanish student ought to. - troydoogle7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0vous serez baisés dans l'imbécile jusqu'à ce que vous cessiez de mettre vers le haut de l'ajax de crap
- smartguy2045, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I use this thing all the time for translating, and its down now. :(
- reveiled, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0the ajax translator is down for some reason
anybody knows anythig - dbsanfte, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Enough AJAX crap already. It's getting tiresome. There's a new front-page story about it nearly every day.
- FunHeadlines, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I'm going to start a new site called dupe.com, and then whenever users post a new dupe story, the whiners will start crying, "Dugg!"
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Ajax this, Ajax that, ajax out!
- fridge2k, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0+digg becuase translating is cool. But still hate ajax...
AJAXIMIFIED! - statesidela, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0usted ***** cariñoso de la madre del dick del burro del *****

- trvr, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0if this is your first time seeing this link on digg...then digg around the site! msaleem came up with 3 other stories about the same thing! we (we being the people who actually "digg" through the site) shouldn't have to suffer because you are too lazy to look around a little!
- DewayneSmith, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0Bonjour comment allez vous faisant aujourd'hui? Vous entassez sucer l'homosexuel. < Does not equal what I typed.
