- jontalisman, on 10/07/2008, -7/+65No, Metallica are pussies.
- basye, on 10/07/2008, -6/+52Nice, but I do intend to buy it as soon as it's out.
- borez, on 10/08/2008, -5/+49I've just listened to the album, every song uses the same Highway to Hell drum beat and, to be honest, although the songs are quality and the engineering is crystal ... it's IMO lacking the balls it needed in the mixing stage. It's digital as *****.
Before you all attack me with the " Bet you couldn't have done a better job Douche bag" comments. Quite frankly, I think I could of.
IMO I'd have rolled some 2k off the guitars and given them a lot bigger stereo image and more ball in the mids, also I'd have put some 125hz on the snare, some 180hz on the kick, kicked the digital out of it with different pre-amps and compressed the ***** out of the drums with a couple of Ureis. Listen to the drums, they sound like they're coming straight from a ***** sample CD... uggg! Sometimes the most expensive digital sound gear in the world, really does lack the balls of yesteryear's techniques.
But what would I know I'm just a sound engineer.
You can digg me down now. - Soave, on 10/08/2008, -2/+26The first studio album in 8 years from such a famous band.
- JordanM85, on 10/08/2008, -10/+33All albums leak... how is this news?
- Ghostalker, on 10/08/2008, -2/+23AC/DC is gonna get my money, they deserve it. I'll probably rip it to my music collection anyways.
- ohnoerino, on 10/07/2008, -11/+30Are they gonna go all Metallica now?
- osko2052, on 10/08/2008, -1/+17It's their music, they can choose to sell it in the way they wish.
- Goose31, on 10/08/2008, -2/+17Thanks What.cd!
Though I'll still buy it. I just listened to it. GREAT ALBUM! Well worth the money. - syxx, on 10/08/2008, -2/+16Well they didn't want it in iTunes, I wonder how they feel about this.
/wonders if it sounds like their other three songs - Misos, on 10/08/2008, -3/+17Um, AC/DC does make singles, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AC/DC_discography#Sin ...
Their position is asinine. If people want to download entire albums because they're great, they will. Purchasing a CD doesn't stop someone from skipping through crap tracks, and they know it. They just want more $$. Ironically, with this position they will get less.
But, I don't care. I'm not a fan of the type of music they produce. - unitedkronos, on 10/08/2008, -4/+17Maybe if the album was on iTunes people would reconsider.

AC/DC frontman Angus Young, whose band refuse to make their songs available on iTunes, said the boycott was because they didn't want fans simply downloading a few tracks of theirs. "We don't make singles, we make albums," he told the Telegraph. "We believe the songs on any of our albums belong together. If we were on iTunes, we know a certain percentage of people would only download two or three songs from the album. We don't think that represents us musically." - Soave, on 10/08/2008, -1/+13On a related note, who else has concert tickets for the upcoming tour?? :D :D
So excited! - HorseloverFat8, on 10/08/2008, -2/+13Thank ***** Wal-Mart doesn't even exist here in Australia.
- FelixDeluxe, on 10/08/2008, -6/+17"We don't make singles, we make albums," he told the Telegraph.
Yeah, but it's been 28 years since they made an album worth listening to all the way through. - HorseloverFat8, on 10/08/2008, -1/+9Because it is newly available on the internet to listen to, as opposed to before, when it wasn't. Note my use of the word "newly".
- cyrix, on 10/08/2008, -0/+8You've got to be ***** kidding me. An AC DC album only available at walmart? I feel so lost and confused now.
- scottinks, on 10/08/2008, -0/+8Dirty deeds...done dirt cheap
- cboj, on 10/08/2008, -0/+8It's bad enough they do not allow you to purchase downloads of this or any other of their albums, but this recording is a WalMart exclusive where I refuse to shop.
So it looks like I'll d/l a song or two to see how it is. Which is sad because back in the early 80's I was such a huge AC/DC fan I would buy an entire import album just to get the one track the US albums didn't have.
Hell I even spent 2 weeks in 1983 drawing an AC/DC logo on the Apples at our High School in BASIC.. (HPLOT123, VPLOT345......) - JoelBakan01, on 10/08/2008, -2/+10Their manager probably leaked it anyway. The industry is so greedy they don't know their ass from a hole in the ground.
- Chirp08, on 10/08/2008, -2/+10shouldn't it be "we seed you!" ?
- jarablue, on 10/08/2008, -2/+9This album, from what I've listened to, is a breath of fresh air. I thought music like this was gone for good. Whew. But the album dicks. Or do you want to keep hearing Britneys "ouughugh" voice?
- glenSM, on 10/08/2008, -1/+8Im buying this straight away, on the 20th!
Its funny since I really started downloading alot of music im buying more albums on cd. I bought 6 albums in 3 weeks (not on sale) 20$ each I just like having the cd :P Once i rip them i store them away never to be seen again. - SugarCoatedSalt, on 10/08/2008, -11/+18OMG piratez 4 lyfe, were so0o0o0 hardc0re, rite?
no. - vulcanius, on 10/08/2008, -0/+7You lost me at IMO. But I'm going to nod in agreement and pretend otherwise.
- ayeroxor, on 10/08/2008, -1/+7Another example: everyone dies, but sometimes dead people make it to the front page of newspapers. Why this is so is left as an exercise for the reader.
/you can do it, champ - oats23, on 10/08/2008, -1/+7Isn't it only available at Wal-Mart?
- DeadSkinMask, on 10/08/2008, -0/+6I have tickets for Vancouver & Tacoma!
HIGH VOLTAGE ROCK & ROLL!!! - Culyt, on 10/08/2008, -3/+9If by ***** quality you mean 320kbps... If you can somehow hear the difference between AC⚡DC on cd and 320kbps mp3 you should perhaps consider becoming spider-man.
- DeadSkinMask, on 10/08/2008, -1/+7Only in the United States.
- TheResistless, on 10/08/2008, -0/+5Add Motorhead to the list.
- Coffeedemon, on 10/08/2008, -1/+6Jesus at least get your own ***** right. It was Turn the Page (and it was a damn decent take on a great original too). I don't doubt AC/DC will be around longer... its hard to get worn out playing their tempos and sticking to the same style with minimal variation or attempt to grow.
- sprNmgcHlmt, on 10/08/2008, -1/+5ac/dc......there is no substitute.
- borez, on 10/08/2008, -0/+4Keh?
- malonie, on 10/08/2008, -0/+4Theres really no reason to download it, maybe for preview sake but just like the eagles and journey cds, it only cost 12$ at walmart. The band get more money by having a walmart deal than signing a music label, ie, Sony or BMG. I think they will be getting 7$ for each album sold.
- Fhwqhgads, on 10/08/2008, -0/+4This is what happens when they take too long to release things.
I've no doubt already heard it anyway. It all sounds the same. - thegamingguy, on 10/07/2008, -4/+8Only interests me for Rock Band 2, so I am still going to have to pay.
- ninjan, on 10/08/2008, -0/+4Other music stores import the CD from Argentina for $8.25 per unit.
- inactive, on 10/08/2008, -8/+12Why are you talking like that?
- jedinate, on 10/08/2008, -2/+6Selling every track as a single?? They GAVE AWAY 4 tracks on their website, prior to the CD coming out and streamed another 2. So that makes 6 out of 10 tracks available for free. Not too lame in my opinion. But I guess people like you , who clearly don't follow the band, but just read negative articles about them on the internet wouldn't actually know that.
- jbundy, on 10/08/2008, -0/+3Angus Young isn't the frontman, he's the lead guitar player. Brian Johnson is the frontman.
- Kelmon, on 10/08/2008, -4/+7Indeed, they are free to make this choice. However, equally I also exercise my choice not to buy their album because I only want one or two tracks and I'm damned if I'm going to pay for the whole thing just to protect AC/DC's artistic sensibilities.
The customer is always right. - TheOther1, on 10/08/2008, -2/+5It's much more entertaining to jerk off to Britney sounding like she getting *****.
- Kelmon, on 10/08/2008, -1/+4That may be true but it's a stretch to suggest that people pirating the music are then also paying for it later. When you already have the music, what incentive is there for people to then buy it legally?
- quaunaut, on 10/08/2008, -0/+3Listening to it on my system...I'm wondering where your problem is. The mix is fine- a few bad choices in random effects, but otherwise its hitting all the places I'd expect it, and really, where I'd want it.
- serpentor, on 10/08/2008, -0/+3130 comments and still no one posted the torrent link?? Come on digglets..
http://www.mininova.org/tor/1885970 - Elfman9, on 10/08/2008, -0/+3Who else thinks this was "leaked" on purpose to promote sales of the album???? Metallica's was "leaked" too, and they got tons of publicity out of it.
- 00Skypilot, on 10/08/2008, -0/+3Back in Black was the last AC/DC album I bought and that was on the day it was released in 1980. I agree they have not released an album since that time that I could listen to in its entirety. High Voltage, Highway To Hell, and Back In Black were the only good albums they released imo.
- JoeyDeacon, on 10/08/2008, -0/+3They don't sell singles on iTunes because albums are more expensive. Seems to wrok for them though. One of the highest royalty checks in the business.
