http://adblockplus.org/en/ - Robustica, on 09/01/2008, -12/+82And a 10th that will save you no time, but is just plain cool :)
www.cooliris.com - KRY4no1, on 09/02/2008, -0/+56Dugg for the superior English used in the first paragraph on the site.
- FUR10N, on 09/02/2008, -1/+42lol, Zimbabwe.com is only worth $10
- farfegnugen, on 09/02/2008, -0/+28No Ubiquity? I've been using it since I saw the story on Digg's front page about a week ago, and I love it. If you haven't tried it yet, you really should. http://labs.mozilla.com/2008/08/introducing-ubiqui ...

- xmpcray, on 09/02/2008, -0/+17That's Zimbabwean $1 trillion to you sir!
- Malevi4, on 09/01/2008, -7/+23install Aging Tabs
- ileftfark, on 09/02/2008, -0/+15I'd say you're doing a bang-up job. I always post comments on sites whose servers I've just totally pwned.
- friz, on 09/01/2008, -4/+19Half of them seem really wasteful. I do like the aging tab, but there are plenty of better addons than that. One that I suggest anyone that does blogging or web development is https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/60 .
- FZero68, on 09/02/2008, -1/+15Am I out of the loop? Tab Mix Plus still doesn't support Firefox 3, unless I'm supposed to download some beta?
- Suzuka09, on 09/02/2008, -1/+15how will looking at a websites money value save time?
- Spandia, on 09/02/2008, -0/+12It was on the list though?
- BillDoE, on 09/02/2008, -2/+14My favorite Firefox 3.0 Extensions.
For Anybody:
Adblock Plus
Aging Tabs
ColorfulTabs
Tab Mix Plus
Mouse Gesutures Redox
BlockSite
DeskCut - Send Shortucts to desktop
FEBE - Firefox Backup
For Webdevs:
ColorZilla
Web Devloper
Firebug - AlpineStars777, on 09/02/2008, -2/+11My list:
AdBlockPlus - blocks ads
PicLens/Cool Iris - neat way to view images in your browser
Download Helper - download any video/music file straight off a website
FlagFox - visually displays a flag icon of what country your site is out of
Download Status Bar - discrete download status bar
ForecastFox - current weather
Gmail Notifier - notifies of new email
Multirow Bookmarks Toolbar - have multiple rows of favicons
Answers - right-click quick reference for any term on a webpage
EXIF Viewer - checks EXIF info for pics - WhoDoneIt, on 09/02/2008, -1/+9You must be female. No way in hell would I install this on my computer with the wife using it too.
- Arionzxv, on 09/02/2008, -1/+9It is amazing how easily they missed such an imperative addon such as this.
- TWiThead, on 09/02/2008, -0/+7Tab Mix Plus (listed in the article) is my favorite Firefox extension. It took the place of four older extensions that I formerly used, and it works better (and includes many more features) than all of those combined. It should be a must-have for all Firefox users.
- tikistyle, on 09/02/2008, -2/+8Terribly written article, poor descriptions, bad choice of plugins. Now i need a plugin that will get my time back from weak and contrived articles...
- cdbeshore, on 09/02/2008, -0/+6No "time saving" list without AdBlock is bogus. That alone saves tons of time looking at all the crap ads.
- MKdx, on 09/02/2008, -0/+6Another great addon is Taboo:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/575 ...
You can keep track of the sites you visited and it will even remember the scroll location on the page, and with screenshots and calendar view of your saved pages (that you can search), this can be quite useful even for bookmarking. - ryan83189, on 09/02/2008, -0/+6Looks like another "hacker" just discovered the ping -f command and thinks they're the *****. Just submit digg to digg, it will rape their servers 2x with the digg effect.
- BrokenVisage, on 09/02/2008, -2/+7But who will saaaaave your soul?
- bblande, on 09/02/2008, -1/+6GrammarCat is not happy.
- Rivetgeek, on 09/02/2008, -0/+5How about neither has anything in common whatsoever, aside from the fact that they both enable a user to do more with the browser. That's like saying a reinforced steel blast door and a fairly bent and slightly rusty screen door offer the same protection and services. Active X was implemented badly from the get go with a poor security-through-obscurity model and little to no user interaction required in the beginning so any site could install anything and have full access to the local zone.
I just went through your recent comments and I'm convinced you are either a total idiot or a troll. - DreamofJeanie, on 09/02/2008, -1/+6Tried a few of these. Ones I like:
-Getchunkit --- uhh works on AMAZON and CRAIGSLIST
-Coolpreviews -- uhhh works on FACEBOOK
Ones that I could do without:
-Aging Tabs
-IMBD Tabs - Depravo, on 09/02/2008, -1/+6No Fast Dial extension?
- yeahblah, on 09/02/2008, -0/+4Agreed, but only a pre-release is available for Firefox 3.01 (which is buggy).
- gureyes, on 09/02/2008, -0/+4there is a version being worked on. There arent many problems so its okay to use:
http://tmp.garyr.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9178 - Paulginz, on 09/02/2008, -0/+4Does anyone else smell password thieving?
- daedalous, on 09/02/2008, -0/+4The scrolling is the only thing I could really see useful in that... but really, I don't understand why you couldn't just click the tab.
- Blademan88, on 09/02/2008, -1/+5read it later....wish i had this since i first discovered digg
- Fergy, on 09/02/2008, -0/+3it is called a user profile
- oli35, on 09/02/2008, -1/+4Agreed. I use that too. Works like a charm.
- hiPpymIck, on 09/02/2008, -0/+3if you enlarge it
you can actually read one page
while youre on another
sometimes it saves me clicking back and forth - xino, on 09/02/2008, -0/+3or MKdx might be a single guy or is a married guy that has his own computer and his wife has her own.
- 3leggedHorse, on 09/02/2008, -0/+2I quite like that addon.
- Jennica, on 09/02/2008, -0/+2how is FlagFox necessary?
- yeahblah, on 09/02/2008, -0/+2For those who visit the same sites every week (daily, every other day, etc.), Morning Coffee is very useful:
http://shaneliesegang.com/projects/coffee.php - cyrix, on 09/02/2008, -0/+2Yeah ok Paris......
- TWiThead, on 09/02/2008, -0/+2http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tab_Mix_Plus
- horsepie, on 09/02/2008, -0/+2My Favourite: Googlepedia. It will show a relevant wikipedia article beside your google search results. It saves me time because most of what I need to find out can be found in a wiki article despite the fact that the article itself is sometimes fairly low in the results.
- Caleb83, on 09/02/2008, -0/+2No Paste-and-Go for firefox 3. That not only saves time, but it perpetuates my laziness. If there is a comparable extension, please let me know!
- Fergy, on 09/02/2008, -0/+2Mention the name before you give a meaningless link so 99% of the people that KNOW that they are in fact NOT a web developer can just go on with their lives instead of wasting time because you couldn't take the extra 2 seconds to give the name.
"Web Developer" - LadyLucifer, on 09/02/2008, -0/+2My Firefox Add-on List:
Adblock Plus
Forecastfox
Foxmarks
NoScript
Tiny Menu
History Submenus
Tab Mix Plus (on my former list, on the older version of Firefox, since it hasn't been updated)
= one happy Firefox camper! :D - widgetking, on 09/02/2008, -0/+2This actually save me tons of time. I have to present a list of defects to my bosses which are keep in a database and uses a web interface. I just throw firefox up, bring up the list of defects with links and then bring up the cool-iris window on the side and lock it in. With the original window in the background, I just hoover over the defect link we are talking about and it updates the cool-iris window. I've impressed the department VP with it (scoring brownie points) :)
- mbauer14, on 09/02/2008, -1/+3Everyone here needs to get ubiquity. Still in pretty much pre-beta phase, but it is very cool and useful.
http://labs.mozilla.com/2008/08/introducing-ubiqui ... - lcarsdeveloper, on 09/02/2008, -0/+2I had a lot of fun playing around with it, it's got so much potential. Unfortunately the version that I downloaded had a lot of bugs so I uninstalled it, but most of them have been fixed in the latest release apparently. And they actually reply to your suggestions/feedback here:
http://getsatisfaction.com/mozilla/products/mozill ...
I give it only a few months before I'm using this all the time! -
