- wageslaven, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Most those apps cost money, kind of strange. I switched from Zoundry (i did use blogjet for about a day), then switched to Windows LIVE Writer.
Real WYSIWYG, off-line editing and sync, simple, powerful, easy. Im not looking back.

I had a site on a little rinky-dink shared server, but turned on caching and it never went down (even when hit by Digg, reddit, fark, SU, and many other big sites all at once).
- Otto, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Don't blame WordPress for cheap shared hosting services.
- Casel, on 10/19/2007, -0/+5Microsoft's "Windows Live Writer" is sadly missing from the list. For a free Microsoft product it is a surprisingly powerful tool.
- BrettFromTibet, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4I love the TextMate blogging bundle with markdown, if you run OS X.. it makes posting a snap!
- fatdog789, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3I should point out that TechCrunch, Cnet, and Wordpress.com all use WordPress without fail. But if you mean: should a website on a budget-host used WP? Probably not.
- Nightfall, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3The host has a lot to do with it as well.
- shadowspawn, on 10/10/2007, -4/+7Doesn't almost every wordpress-driven site die once it's on Digg or even becomes popular?
- JohnnyXmas, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2So THAT'S what Wordpress looks like. I was pretty certain that their servers didn't actually exist.
- HMMaster, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Microsoft Word 2007 is not bad too.
- thailand1972, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Yes you can - install one of the cacheing plugins. You don't need to throw hardware at a blog that predominantly serves up statics pages.
- AndrewDB, on 01/10/2008, -0/+1W_Bloggar is perfect for what I needed. Thank you !
- 13thKid, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1ecto (for os x) worked straight out of the box for me, without needing to know anything other than the path of my blog. my blog is small with a virtually non-existent audience, but ecto makes posting a snap for me, especially since i frequently compose posts while out of network range, then publish them whenever i find wifi/network access.
ps: digg's spellchecker does not know "blog" or "wifi," which i find stupefying - macewan, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1BLOgtk for Linux.
- zoolander, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1what are popular post editors for Wordpress on OS X?
- CodyZ, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Forgive me, as I'm new to this
but do these work with wordpress.org the php script, or wordpress.com the service?
Thanks - leondel, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1I hate the Wordpress post editor

- AC76, on 12/09/2007, -0/+0Glad that Zoundry made the top 5. Good program. Plus it's free and I'm cheap.

hot news online http://THE884SERVICE.COM - welshbeef, on 12/12/2007, -0/+0I love Wordpress and use it religiously for every new website I create, especially if it is a content driven site. While the post editor has its downfalls, it's not really that bad?

- stgermond, on 01/22/2008, -0/+0I've done some work with Wordpress and found it to be a little stiff, but comparable to most of the other free platforms. I'm a big fan of Blogger, too, for simple stuff and Movable Type for more features. http://community.mytypes.com/acne/weblog/
- jessicawoode, on 12/27/2007, -0/+0These guys are crazy... Who would come up with idea like that... now I just have to create a mind map about it at http://mappio.com and hope that I will remember that

http://yro.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=07/09/25/16 ... - EntropyMan, on 10/10/2007, -4/+1Personally, I get the most mileage out of the on-line FCK editor for my self-hosted wordpress blogs. I like this port the best. It's small and fairly up-to-date:
http://www.deanlee.cn/wordpress/fckeditor-for-word ...
The one thing I wanted it to do, though (that I had to do by hand-editing CSS files) was make the editor's text window match my site's CSS for true WYSIWYG.
I hate how people _claim_ WYSIWYG and then give you the default black text on white background with some arbitrary stylesheet. If your site isn't black text on a white background, BS_IWYG. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -6/+1Are any of these tools prevent WP from dying in the ass as soon as anyone looks at them??
