- Haplo, on 02/27/2009, -5/+13But we do from your drivel on Digg? Don't dictate what others should enjoy while not following your own rules. *****.
- cab238, on 02/27/2009, -3/+10
Guys - Digg comments are far more useless, banal, and frivolous than the majority of Twitter updates. Just look at this page. - jotux, on 02/27/2009, -3/+9Who needs twitter when I have smoke signals and carrier pigeons?
- inactive, on 02/27/2009, -3/+7Really guys, bashing The Pet Rock these days just makes you look like a old fart who says things like "I hate rocks! A dog is just peachy for me!"
It's 1976, and this is Rockford, IL. Catch up, already, squares. - danjal, on 02/27/2009, -0/+4Twitterfox is by far the Best and simple UI for twitter! https://addons.mozilla.org/ga-IE/firefox/addon/508 ...
- mason092, on 02/27/2009, -1/+5Well, you see, text messages can be useful. Posting every little thing you do to the web is not.
- serif69, on 02/27/2009, -0/+4These are nice, but I rarely use the web for Twitter. I find it cumbersome compared to the desktop and mobile apps that accomplish the same things. Hell, I can call up Twitterrific with a single keystroke should there be something pertinent. Else, I use their mobile app on my iPhone when I don't have access to a computer. Either way, there really is very little need to use a web interface.
- inactive, on 02/27/2009, -1/+5I still prefer my horse-drawn carriage, thankyouverymuch.
Speaking of painfully outdated things, who still uses the word, "Squares"? - mason092, on 02/27/2009, -4/+8Can someone explain to me why Twitter is so useful? Nobody cares what you are doing at any given moment of the day.
- inactive, on 02/27/2009, -1/+4Why I just use dog poop and a dissected gall bladder to write my messages on a mirror, then snail mail it out to friends.
- mydingaling, on 02/27/2009, -0/+3My feelings exactly, I was under the impression that Digg users were on the whole, forward thinking, tech savants but this outpouring of hate for Twitter is making me reconsider. Twitter is a valuable addition to the arsenal of communication tools available to us today. Most importantly it is (mostly) an UNEDITED source of news from whatever quarter. I have not once read a tweet about a bowel movement. I have however seen a lot of ***** on Digg.
- A11YND, on 02/27/2009, -1/+4saying twitter is revolutionary is like saying Frank Miller is a great poet.
- inactive, on 02/27/2009, -5/+8They.all.suck.
Twitter has just reached a new level of useless. - Qorzm, on 02/27/2009, -4/+6Tweetdeck?
- whoisjohnlai, on 03/03/2009, -0/+2tweetube is a downloadable softaware which is exclusively for twitter only. its a site that allows you to share videos straight onto twitter
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5T5VYMIVnEw - inactive, on 02/27/2009, -1/+3That must have been Twitter Beta
- inactive, on 02/27/2009, -1/+3I dont think he's bitter. He is pointing out the fact that you twitter fans (better known as, ***** morons) will click on anything to hype up more exposure for twitter, yet cant actually find anything interesting to say about the article.
That or someone is running a script that automatically diggs these submissions because normally, nobody cares about Twitter. These Twitter stories often find themselves on the front page, yet the actual article ends up having little or no substance. The only reason your getting all these stupid twitter apps is because some developers wont to be on the ground floor on anything they can sell or support using banner ads. - mydingaling, on 02/27/2009, -0/+2Please get it out of your head that Twitter is all about bodily functions, if you took the time to try to understand it you would see it is simply a channel for communication. You might as well hate the internet for the same reason.
- JaceFuse, on 02/27/2009, -2/+4So in other words you aren't very close to any of your friends? Okay. Fine, that's YOU.
I personally have a lot of friends and family on Twitter, and it actually HAS revolutionized the way we keep in touch. Spontaneous meet ups for lunch, drop of the hat get-togethers, or just throwing a simple question out to everyone I know all at once. It has filled a role in our lives we didn't know needed filling until we got used to having it there.
Oh, and the fact that it has broadened my fart-joke audience is only a bonus. - LeonFlux, on 02/27/2009, -1/+2I was looking for "Real Life" but I didn't see that as any of the alternatives for some reason.
- jukilimbur, on 02/28/2009, -0/+1The best interface is to simply post using their API. While their user authentication sucks bigtime, they're trying oAuth. Either way, it is embarrassingly simple to post to twitter automatically.
- inactive, on 02/27/2009, -1/+2need to add twitter to that list..
- inactive, on 02/27/2009, -0/+1Gathera is the best and very complete Twitter interface, I like it as well because it supports many of my other accounts such as Facebook and Gmail.
http://www.gathera.com - chchrob, on 02/27/2009, -1/+2Yes but these are comments on a story not just banal comments about how you are about to eat breakfast. You could use Digg and never once have to read a comment.
- inactive, on 02/27/2009, -2/+3#1. Blank screen
- Bobski, on 02/27/2009, -1/+2Lemon Squares.. Omnomnomnom..
- JaceFuse, on 02/27/2009, -3/+3That would have made an awesome tweet.
- flarn2006, on 02/27/2009, -2/+2http://lmgtfy.com/?q=twitter&l=1
- mabsark, on 02/27/2009, -2/+2I've never been interested in twitter, but over the past 2 weeks I've been using it to get near real-time translation of the pirate bay trial. It still does not interest me, but like any other tool, it has its uses.
- jcenters, on 02/27/2009, -3/+31. Keep track of all your friends.
2. Lots of useful bots, like Gcal, RTM, Timer, etc.
3. Breaking news straight from the journalists who report it.
4. Easy way to keep track of how you spend your time.
5. Easy way to take quick notes.
6. Get in touch with celebrities. Most of the Phoenix Suns are on Twitter. Shaq is a hilarious guy late at night.
Don't think of it as a way to announce your diarrhea to the world, think of it as a command line for the web. - mabsark, on 02/27/2009, -2/+2Digsby and it's 5 toolbars. Don't you just love malware.
- inactive, on 02/27/2009, -2/+2Yeah you have a great idea in regards of alternative on twitter. But you make sure that there is not much disadvantages when using it.
- inactive, on 02/27/2009, -3/+2What no pr0n?
- FlyingPhotog, on 02/27/2009, -3/+3At least this isn't yet another apple / ubuntu / obama / palin / i hate powerusers thread.
- iMiles, on 02/27/2009, -5/+4All those sites look pretty lame, only the media one might be worthwhile, but regular twitter will have to do for silly old me.
- Pwedge, on 02/27/2009, -10/+10Pushing twitter to the front page?
The world really does not need to know that your taking a ***** OR that you really enjoyed that double quarter pounder from McDonald's.
We really don't benefit from people and their constant Twitter updates. - m00n1, on 02/27/2009, -4/+3I use Twitterfox (a simple firefox extension) and Digsby.
Yes, twitter has a lot of mindless chat. Just like there are a lot of mindless web pages. Doesn't meant twitter sucks, just follow the right people. - inactive, on 02/27/2009, -8/+6Nobody cares about Twitter. It officially ran out of article ideas (talking about everything and nothing twitter related) last year. But for some reason, they keep showing up on the front page, this time with ZERO comments.
Please stop, its not useful, its not interesting, its not cool. Its incredibly stupid and boring.
PS
I am going poop. - mabsark, on 02/27/2009, -3/+1Near real-time translation of the TPB trial.
Need I say more? - misterparry, on 02/27/2009, -5/+3http://hellotxt.com/ nuff' said
- mabsark, on 02/27/2009, -3/+1The TPB trial, very good use of twitter.
- mtg101, on 02/27/2009, -5/+3Yeah, you regularly use two desktop applications to 'manage' twitter. Same way you use both MSOffice and OpenOffice to write a letter, or both iTunes and WMP to listen to music.
- inactive, on 02/27/2009, -13/+11Someone told me twitter is going to revolutionize the way we communicate.
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaahashshshshshahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahha - fotoman607, on 02/27/2009, -7/+6one of my favorites: curl -u user:pass -d status="bla bla bla" http://twitter.com/statuses/update.xml
- misterparry, on 02/27/2009, -4/+2someone seems a little bitter
- sorenchr, on 02/27/2009, -20/+15OH WOULD YOU PLEASE STFU ABOUT TWITTER ALREADY
- MasterTroll, on 02/27/2009, -12/+8hay guise wuts twitter?
- troymccluresf, on 02/27/2009, -12/+5Really guys, bashing Twitter these days just makes you look like a old fart who says things like "I hate texting! A telephone call is just peachy for me!"
It's 2009, and this is Digg. Catch up, already, geeks.

What is Digg?
