4 Open Source 'Collection Manager' Apps

makeuseof.com — I have way too much stuff - so much in fact that it’s often difficult to keep track of it all. I turned to the internet in the process I managed to find four open source programs that all call themselves “collection managers.” They all claim to make it easy to catalog and keep track of your collections of things like books, movies, and CDs.

    What home user actually needs this? Am I missing something? In terms of books and movies, if you buy one or the other, read or watch it, chances are that you'll remember you've got it lying around somewhere. If you completely forget about it, it must not have been too impressive. Unless...unless there is another reason to use these programs, which I may be missing. Am I missing something?
