- gotribe06, on 07/01/2009, -0/+24And stalking gets just a little bit easier.
- bobertoq, on 06/30/2009, -0/+12Mine is available on every website I don't have an account on! Woot!
- CoreyTamas, on 07/01/2009, -0/+9I usually register with my email because I find that popular nicknames may get duplicated, but no-one else has wetone@nudehairymen.org.
- BREZZZ, on 07/01/2009, -1/+8If it's taken I add more Zs. That happened with digg.
- Chairboy, on 07/01/2009, -0/+7Really? "Anguish" is the word we're using here?
- LoudMusic, on 07/01/2009, -0/+6Sounds like a good way for someone to steal your username across all sites ...
- xobni, on 06/30/2009, -0/+6Have you ever had a problem getting your username of choice on a particular site? It seems like the one you use is pretty unique.
- leamanc, on 07/01/2009, -0/+6All sites? Wow, that's a lot of intarweb pages to search all at once.
- dvsbastard, on 07/01/2009, -0/+5For some reason I never trusted services like this... I have always thought it was just another way to collect usernames for potential spam purposes and such ...
- stompk291, on 06/30/2009, -0/+4what? I must know at least a half dozen "ahmedbilal"s
:-) - alsazen, on 07/01/2009, -0/+3That just for logging in, it ensures a unique login that the user will remember - since Facebook is built on real identity, it would not be appropriate for me to use 'alsazen' as my login. Likewise, it would be a problem for users to use their real name as their login, since only 1 person would be able to have 'John Smith', and it would be problematic for others to remember if they were 'John Smith99' or 'John SmithABC' - but most people should remember their email address.
what is displayed in your profile is different, so it's not like they are showing off your email address (if you don't want them to) - Greza, on 07/01/2009, -0/+3Yeah, but you ***** clowns...
- otbeverly, on 07/01/2009, -2/+5I'm skipping Twitter
- lukedude, on 07/01/2009, -0/+2This is the coolest thing ever. Now I need to come up with a username I didn't create while I was in 7th grade.
- mickaloha, on 07/01/2009, -0/+2Why doesn't digg put in code that only allows 5 links or less? Hell 10 would cut down on this *****.
- supermanly, on 07/01/2009, -0/+2Dear jfsfgdf,
On behalf of the rest of the Digg community, I believe a '***** you' is in order.
***** YOU.
Regards,
supermanly - inactive, on 06/30/2009, -1/+3Mine > yours.
- mt4055, on 07/01/2009, -0/+1Damn, that's a ***** load of websites I don't want to go to.
- seeanimal, on 07/01/2009, -0/+1myfriendscallme tells me that I'm registered on sites I'm not, clicking through to the profiles brings up 404s, or "member not found". These sites seem to have my name registered, but no one is using it. Odd.
- sinurgy, on 07/01/2009, -0/+1" I can only imagine the anguish of those who were late to Twitter "
Anguish? Really?! Dude, do yourself a favor and go the ***** outside! - ahmedbilal, on 06/30/2009, -2/+3very useful, thanks for sharing.
- miggyb, on 07/01/2009, -1/+2I alternate between miggyb and miggyb89 because I'm in some sort of anonymous pseudonym feud. I wish there was an easy way to solve this predicament. Although I don't guarantee anything, I'd certainly be open to talking about canceling/trading my name for the sake of having a consistent name across the Internet.
I once got close to talking to him on IRC. Apparently, he's an Apple user and does Ruby on Rails development, as he was on #rubyonrails on freenode.net.
Oh well. I can deal with it, I guess. - Psara, on 07/01/2009, -0/+1Way cool. I have to say I'm surprised how many sites have mine taken that aren't me. I was surprised to see a second one on WoW :)
Of course now you're all going to go snatch it up... - skyfyre, on 07/01/2009, -0/+1namechk.com informs me that the user name that I already have on photobucket is available. I don't know whether that's good or bad.
- deadguysleeps, on 07/01/2009, -0/+1who the heck took MYUSERNAME ?
- pikelet, on 07/01/2009, -0/+1I like having a noun for a username. If it's taken, I just use the plural form! I guess I could make up a verb, but, er..'pikeleting'?
- bryhhh, on 07/01/2009, -1/+2Nice way of spambaiting your own email address!
- ChrisAburime, on 07/04/2009, -0/+1This is great for personal reputation management.
- damnshoes, on 07/01/2009, -0/+1
- palmer, on 07/01/2009, -1/+2Yours becomes his?
Way to just fold. - MiguelGomez, on 07/08/2009, -0/+0I was thinking the exact same thing. Maybe I'm just too paranoid.
- Blajano, on 07/01/2009, -1/+1Blajano is always available. see? original.
- palmer, on 07/01/2009, -2/+1The problem is amateur-hour sites that try to use an E-mail address as a user ID. You know you're dealing with a lack of common sense and a juvenile site design what that's the case.
As in FACEBOOK. - d3dm, on 07/01/2009, -2/+1Screw twitter. Since they axed 'cwalken' I have no use for them.
- Greza, on 07/01/2009, -2/+1Really, why?
http://bit.ly/dtHtl - falser, on 07/01/2009, -9/+7If you care about what your Twitter username is you fail at life.
- rephlex, on 07/01/2009, -2/+0Weird, I was just thinking about this concept yesterday.
- dhaus111, on 07/01/2009, -5/+1who the ***** cares?
