- mrblue182, on 10/10/2007, -0/+16I pity whoever needs 20+ plugins to manage their email.
- Harrison88, on 10/10/2007, -3/+11I'm sorry for your computer.
- badassninja, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9I didn't see the point of most of these. Gmail is pretty darn powerful. I don't ever get spam in my inbox and the GUI is way more powerful then say, thunderbird. I would have rather seen a guide on how to use gmail better.
- Tordenflesk, on 10/10/2007, -3/+7You only need one "plugin". It's called Thunderbird!
- cdleeman, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2phirestyle, I work for a fairly big web development company, and I probably get 60-80 emails per day. I overheard one of the systems engineers say one day that around 3000 emails had collected in his inbox! Now granted that's over a period of time, but it gives you an idea of why email management is needed by some!
- sremick, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Did you totally miss my point? I was agreeing with Tordenflesk (like you are)
- sremick, on 10/10/2007, -3/+5Good for you. Now leave us people who actually use email alone.
- Atomic1fire, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I'm trying to figure out if that was sarcasm
but anyway it wont help
the firefox plugins part implies that your a firefox user because everyone knows you cant run firefox plugins by themselves - Atomic1fire, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1The only extensions I use email wise are the notifier and toolbar buttons (for a gmail button and a few non mail buttons)
- Indrek, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Of course it was sarcasm. Sorry, should I have used an emoticon or something?
My comment was in response to how the article seems to assume that Firefox is my (and by "my" I mean the reader's, in case that wasn't obvious either) favourite web browser, which is most certainly questionable. This is similar to those ads about accessories to "your iPod" - as if everyone had, or even desired one.
But I suppose I should have known better than to post a comment that said anything other than "awesome!" in a Firefox article. - cawpin, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Buried for suggesting that a screwdriver can be used as a hammer. Wives don't need help using the wrong tool for the job. Stop it.
Tordenflesk - Yep. - wisam, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2FireGPG isn't on that list. It's the only email plugin I have installed simply because GPG is probably the only email related task that a bare browser can't handle alone.
- blackbelt88, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3Email clients aren't good enough anymore? I mean honestly, I used to use webmail just like everyone else, but once you go to the client it's impossible to go back.
- sremick, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3Seriously. Instead of trying to bolt on 20+ extensions to make a web-browser a better email app... why not just use an email app?
Next: 20 modifications to turn your screwdriver into a better hammer - cawpin, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2Me too. I don't see how Gmail is that great. The new Yahoo mail has a much better UI. I do use Gmail though but I access it mainly through Thunderbird.
- sremick, on 10/10/2007, -4/+4"GUI is way more powerful then say, thunderbird"
How you figure that? I'd say the exact opposite. - CrazyRedHatter, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1I agree, once I got the hang of folderless labeling I haven't really found any need for an email app. I do like the Better Gmail extension, for the added functionality over the vanilla Gmail.
- phirestyle, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2Thank you!
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1idiot.
- catalysis, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1If I ever need additional programs to manage the email in my email client, somebody just shoot me.
- Atomic1fire, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1is comcast pop3/imap supported
try finding a notifier that supports either then - lollercopters, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Webmail Notifier would work great for me, but it doesn't support comcast.net. Anyone know something that can check your Comcast email for you?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1When you respond to those 60-80 emails do you use the REPLY button or just start a new unrelated mail??
- Bricks, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1carrier pigeons ftw.
Oh they don't fly the data. That'd be absurd. Its just zeros and ones. They trained to furiously peck keyboards and blackberries. - championchap, on 10/10/2007, -4/+3Isn't the one Mozilla product for Managing E-Mail called Thunderbird?
- moocow1452, on 10/10/2007, -3/+1I just use eprompter.
- retawd, on 10/10/2007, -3/+1These look interesting. I've been using POP Peeper for years, and it works well, but this might be better...
- Indrek, on 10/10/2007, -3/+1"over 20 Firefox plugins which enable you to send, receive, check and manage emails from your favorite web browser."
Wait, how's a Firefox plugin going to enable me to manage my email from IE7? - implied, on 10/10/2007, -11/+8I use the one called Outlook.
- ifuckurmouth, on 10/10/2007, -4/+1***** you tard.
- gary427, on 10/10/2007, -3/+0Decent collection of plugins. I'll have to check some of those out.
