- brainnovate, on 04/05/2009, -0/+10Personally I prefer javascript for generating graphs. It may not be capable of quite as much, but I have had mixed luck with flash charting components.
- ThePowerDigger, on 04/05/2009, -1/+11Open Flash Charts is probably the best solution if you're thinking of data visuals in Flash. Though JavaScript is becoming - more and more - a popular choice for graphs and charts. When (and this will probably be years) Canvas is fully implemented in all major browsers, there's no question that JS will be the best option.
- mootymoots, on 04/05/2009, -1/+9I wrote two articles showing exactly that for jQuery and Javascript alternatives:

- sprash, on 04/06/2009, -1/+3And all of them won't work on the iPhone or almost all other ARM based phones. Some kind of Canvas/SVG/JS solution would be great.
- MikeyMoose, on 04/06/2009, -0/+2Fusioncharts has a free version.
- miggyb, on 04/06/2009, -0/+1These charts make Edward Tufte cry.
- jggube, on 04/05/2009, -0/+1Great articles, I tried Flot, it does its job pretty darn well. I'm not so sure about the Google Charts plugin though, the Google Charts API is so simple, it seems like a waste of resources to me, to include a plugin just for that.
- Agentdvd, on 04/06/2009, -0/+1But do they look as nice?
- mrBitch, on 04/06/2009, -0/+1Agreed, a JS based chart library using Canvas will be the best bet, mainly due to the fact that this solution will be based on open standards (rather than a closed, proprietary flash based solution).
However, until Canvas is fully implemented, something like "YUI Charts (a free BSD-licensed Flash-based charting solution with a full JavaScript API) would be the best compromise (for now).

- r3zonance, on 04/06/2009, -1/+2Since when?
- mithrasinvictus, on 04/06/2009, -1/+1Too bad microsoft killed SVG.
