- blah247, on 05/22/2009, -0/+16Secret: You can get CS4 FREE!
- UberNick, on 05/22/2009, -0/+13Comment from Adobe graphical designer during company conference call: "With how often Fireworks crashes, I feel terrible for anyone who actually paid for CS4"
- inactive, on 05/22/2009, -0/+9Secret: it took us 2 decades to implement GPU support, oh and that painting directly on 3d models thing, that's existed in plugins for 10 years now too. Don't say we never listened!
- qiaohua, on 05/22/2009, -0/+9Useful stuff. Too bad I suck at Photoshop.
- InitialDMP5, on 05/22/2009, -0/+6I'm great at Photoshop, but I suck at Illustrator. I've never used it and it seems that most places are hiring for people that know both. Any good tip sites for an illustrator newb??
- Radan, on 05/22/2009, -0/+6GOOD GOD ADOBE! FIX GOD DAMN FIREWORKS!!!
Thank you, I just wanted to express the feelings of about everyone who relies on that application. Macromedia, why did you do it? - Shadic, on 05/22/2009, -0/+4"We don't buy it either!"
- inactive, on 05/22/2009, -0/+4It's because Adobe employees haven't figured out how to use the new Flash either.
- Fluffycheese, on 05/22/2009, -0/+4Really? You used a pirated serial and you were surprised it got angry?
- wild, on 05/22/2009, -0/+3Wow, that is almost all really handy. NIce to see some good photoshop articles around here.

marriage certificate...lol - SquareWheel, on 05/22/2009, -0/+2And seeing as I pirated it, I'm afraid to update.
- indiepenguins, on 05/22/2009, -0/+2I was in the same boat as you cause the two are so different, try a few tutorials at vectortuts.com and you'll get the hang of it.
- MOJIRA, on 05/22/2009, -0/+2Illustrator is really powerful *****. This is cool: http://www.attitudedesign.co.uk/7-things-you-didnt ...
- gbhall, on 05/23/2009, -0/+1Nothing that exciting on the list.
- diggnidy, on 05/22/2009, -1/+2tpb
- Ryar, on 05/23/2009, -0/+1Only 100 tips! My mouse doesn't click on anything less than 150.
- DeceasedVirus, on 05/26/2009, -0/+1Yeah Win 7 is not officially released yet so it doesn't have to be officially supported by Third Party Application Vendors yet. Ohh And 4 released of CS . . . Not during the Win 7 timeline
- nabe, on 05/23/2009, -0/+1Adobe: where are my damn explorer previews for .ai, .psd, etc, files in Vista-Windows7? Is that too much to ask that you fix this after 4 releases of the CS series?
- nabe, on 06/21/2009, -0/+1If they had supported Vista previews, Win 7 would automatically be supported; no need for them to wait for the release of Win 7. Vista has at least 20% market share, so don't tell me it wasn't worth the effort (OSX Finder gets previews for these files with even less market share).
Furthermore, they have removed thumbnail support even for Windows XP, so your argument about Win 7 not released yet is not relevant.
The fact of the matter is that Adobe want us to use Bridge instead of the proper solution which is to let us see the thumnails for these files right in the Explorer windows. - MOJIRA, on 05/22/2009, -0/+1DONNNIEEE!!!!!
- cre8tivate, on 05/22/2009, -0/+1But Fireworks still crashes daily.
- inactive, on 05/22/2009, -0/+1TPB FTW
- inactive, on 05/22/2009, -0/+1Best. Tutorials. Ever.
- Radan, on 05/22/2009, -0/+1While, it may not be exactly what you want to hear, I would say; just play around a little and try forget about everything you know about Photoshop.
Vector graphics require a rather different mindset than pixel graphic based applications like Photoshop does. It's much more fail safe than Photoshop, since you can always just nudge that ill-placed curve hours after you initially did it so that it fits with the rest of picture. However, because of that, you are much more required to create perfect curves whenever you draw.
One tip that I usually tries to follow is that you should try to create your curves with as few nodes as possible. The "S" curve is your friend! - MtheoryX, on 05/22/2009, -1/+1Donnie's a douche bag.
- Sparky9292, on 05/22/2009, -1/+1If you need extra training for Illustrator, Lynda.com is your friend. If you don't have the cash to buy their excellent vids, then email me and I'll give you a bitspyder.org account.
- MtheoryX, on 05/22/2009, -1/+1Nice spam attempt, dick.
- zray, on 05/22/2009, -0/+0Adobe released a patch which fixes most of the critical issues with the first CS4 release.
- arthursk, on 05/22/2009, -1/+0Here's a good one not listed: AI CS4 recently changed the pathfinder unite tool to group object that don't intersect instead of uniting them, hold option when clicking unite (or any other pathfinder tool) and then expand the object, like you would in older versions.
- Sparky9292, on 05/22/2009, -2/+1I downloaded CS4 Master Collection (has like every Adobe app), and wow the DRM protections are evil. It phones home every time you open an app. You have to add like thirty entries to your HOSTS file to 127.0.0.1. I used a pirated serial and two days later, photoshop threw up a dialog that scolded me for using a pirated key.
Everything works fine now (with updates too!) thanks to the find citizens of Demonoid/Mininova/Piratebay. - twilightteam, on 05/22/2009, -1/+0so dont i dont wrry
- Sparky9292, on 05/22/2009, -2/+1Well, it was the first time that Adobe has used phone home DRM. So that's the surprise.
- inactive, on 05/22/2009, -5/+2ehh too much reading
