- jmdwinter, on 06/11/2009, -4/+42As a Man U supporter I think this is the right move. There are other good young players who deserve a chance in his place. Also Wayne Rooney is the real heart and soul of the team.
- FapCommander, on 06/11/2009, -0/+32Real are still going after Villa for about £40 mill, I got no idea where they are getting all this money from, it's a joke
- viper001, on 06/11/2009, -2/+30Fun fact: The entire 3 title winning Barcelona team costs less than how much Madrid payed for Kaka (let alone Ronaldo)
(from fcbes.com)
Kaka: €67.5m

Puyol - 0 (Academy product)
Pique - 0 (Academy product sold to United for 5 mil and bought back for the same amount years later)
Busquets - 0 (Academy product)

Iniesta - 0 (Academy product)
Messi - 0 (Academy product)

Take from it what you will. - inactive, on 06/11/2009, -3/+29And as an added bonus, rumors link Ronaldo and Paris Hilton romantically. Nice work, Real, you just spent $130M on herpes.
- Salinator, on 06/11/2009, -2/+28Barcelona says hello
- thinboyslim, on 06/11/2009, -0/+24Shame all the money will be going towards paying off the massive £700 million or $1.1 billion debt Man Utd now have.
- OMGRussellCrowe, on 06/11/2009, -1/+23Man, they still have to sign him on top of that. That's going to be at least another $10mil/yr.
- noino1966, on 06/11/2009, -1/+21Wow, so Madrid are going to buy all the greatest footballers in the world, try and keep they're inflated egos in check and win everything in sight...
It worked so well for them last time...oh, wait a minute... - wannarto, on 06/11/2009, -0/+19honestly, good deal for Manchester United... no player in this world is worth 130 M
- Jeffler, on 06/11/2009, -0/+17You do realize that they're the team that sold him, right?
- fguanlao, on 06/11/2009, -12/+29***** Ronaldo
- ToeAndno, on 06/11/2009, -0/+16You mean every country on Earth that isn't the USA? I think you'll find the majority don't use Sterling.
- Zique, on 06/12/2009, -0/+15@DonAlfred
Wow, you just made youtube comments seem intelligent and interesting. - BraveQuail, on 06/11/2009, -0/+13Real are spending over 200million dollars on attacking midfielders/wingers, when their main problems lie in defence. No matter how many more attacking players they get (Villa, ribery, silva etc.) if they don't spend money on their defence, the money they've spent on kaka and ronaldo will never repay them financially or bring the success they need.
- protogenxl, on 06/11/2009, -0/+13Domo Arigato Mister Ronaldo
- EllisSpice, on 06/11/2009, -8/+19...or £80 million pounds for those of you who call this sport 'football'
- inactive, on 06/11/2009, -1/+12Yeah I'm jealous of his situation too.
- jasonjcrawford, on 06/11/2009, -0/+10It's the galacticos all over again but it seems like twice the amount of money as before. £60 for Kaka, £80m for Ronaldo and now possibly £40 for David Villa and a £20m bid for Xabi Alonso.
- alwaysnomadic, on 06/11/2009, -0/+10His salary is expected to be £9.5 in the 1st year rising 25% annually to £29 mill, according to the Times. That buys a lot of grease.
- Napiertt, on 06/11/2009, -0/+10Don't bet on it
- furuholm, on 06/11/2009, -1/+10And still, barca has the best team, id take Messi, Xavi and Iniesta over Ronaldo, Villa and Kaka anyday (No maybe not anyday, but you get my point =).. Just imagine if they get Ibra and Ribery.
- DLRULZ, on 06/11/2009, -0/+9yeah you forgot alves 37m and many other players too.
- noino1966, on 06/11/2009, -1/+10I don't think you understand irony...
- tgc1, on 06/11/2009, -1/+9How the christ do these sports players keep getting paid so damned much?
- kenCed, on 06/11/2009, -0/+8No it means their offense will be stellar but their defense will be lacking in quality and the club will be in huge debt. Kaka, Ronaldo, and now Villa (supposedly) can't fix an entire team.
- Ddragonaaa, on 06/11/2009, -0/+8Own goals would be quite awesome. Especially 130 of them.
- LaGStAr, on 06/11/2009, -2/+9Now I just need to get my hands on a TFC ticket for August 7th, on the very off chance that either Ronaldo or Kaka will play.
- dsmx, on 06/11/2009, -1/+8Real madrid need to fix there defense more than they need to fix there attack.
- autmare, on 06/11/2009, -1/+8except he turned her down ..
- icewater, on 06/11/2009, -2/+9Not a big deal, he's a diver/whiner. No honour there.
- Pinkshisno, on 06/11/2009, -2/+9As a Manchester United fan I'm glad Barcelona won. They were the better team.
- nenadsuperzmaj, on 06/11/2009, -1/+8Because the world is fu*ked up. That is probably the simplest answer.
- inactive, on 06/11/2009, -1/+8If you could get 100,000 people to pay to watch you clean the elementary school's toilets every day, you'd be making serious money too.
- number11, on 06/11/2009, -0/+6its 1 player,
we've got a great squad and plenty of class midfielder + £80 million to replace him, We've got Fletcher and Park Ji, Nani, Tosic,
Plus next season we can get Berbatov more involved upfront as we can have more people chasing back (Ronaldo and Nani NEVER chased back when possession was lost, and Berba added to it, thats why Tevez looked so good, and Berbatov scored 1 less than tevez) - mabsark, on 06/11/2009, -0/+6LOL @ American "Football"
LOL @ "World Series" - number11, on 06/11/2009, -0/+6Nope thats why it's gonna get out of hand sometime in the near future, probably when City buy all the titles i guess
- supernaut, on 06/11/2009, -0/+6Good point, but this doesn't include the bench players (like the useless Hleb they bought from Arsenal for 13 million ish)
- BraveQuail, on 06/11/2009, -0/+6This is how much Real Madrid paid to Manchester United to buy the player (Some of the money will go to middlemen like agents etc.). Rumours are that, Ronaldo will earn around 9million Euros per year.
- Rahaz, on 06/11/2009, -1/+7Real Madrid needs to use the players they have instead of buying up superstars every few years who end up going from good to mediocre as soon as they start playing for them.
- fuwath, on 06/11/2009, -0/+6I don't think there's much this guy does understand.
- firesights, on 06/11/2009, -2/+8You draw 120,000 paying people into a stadium every time you play. That's how.
- noino1966, on 06/11/2009, -1/+6smirk at United fans...
- monkeyrun, on 06/11/2009, -0/+5Looks like he's destined to go to Real Madrid few years ago.
- ManUnitdFan, on 06/11/2009, -0/+5Agreed. I'd feel a lot better about our midfield if they could pick up Ribery at a decent price, though.
- buryyourhead, on 06/11/2009, -2/+7They're not getting Alonso. Madrid can ***** right off
- krytz86, on 06/11/2009, -1/+6To be fair Alonso's guff. if they can sign Kaka and Ronaldo, crappy Alonso will be a breeze.
- illogik, on 06/11/2009, -0/+5I think when people say 'Ronaldo' now we all know who they're talking about...
- jambus572, on 06/11/2009, -0/+5Actually, the Ronaldo you've mentioned before Cristiano, is infact Brazilian, not Portugese, Cristiano is Portugese.
- Jeffler, on 06/11/2009, -0/+5And how many of those owned something with the name "Ronaldo" in them that were worth $130M?
- Dignan666, on 06/11/2009, -0/+5madrid holds about 80,000. I think only North Korea's stadium holds more than 100,000. lets not get ridiculous.
