- ManUnitdFan, on 04/06/2009, -8/+162Dear Rest of the World,
Please be aware that there are a great number of people within the United States that appreciate football as it is played throughout the rest of the world. We also recognize that "soccer" makes significantly more sense when called "football," and that our football has almost nothing to do with feet.
However, here are our two choices:
1. Walk around calling soccer "football," thus confusing everyone around us and alienating us even more from fans of other sports.
2. Continue calling real football "soccer," knowing full well that the rest of the world makes fun of us for it.
It's a bit of a lose-lose for us.
In addition, we football players have grown up with "football" being American football, and "soccer" being "rest of the world's football," and societal and linguistic habits are tough to break.
I hope you realize that some Americans recognize our sporting idiosyncrasies, and fully appreciate their ridiculousness. Please disregard any and all American douche bags that feel a false sense of superiority and self-righteousness over their version of football.
Sincerely,
An American Football Fan - lofilotek, on 04/06/2009, -0/+150Another version on youtube

Dear (North) Americans
The game that you see being played in the video is of a game called Football, not soccer. Note that it's played with the feet, hence the name, football. - insickness, on 04/06/2009, -0/+39"This video has been removed by the user."
WTF - rikwakefield, on 04/06/2009, -0/+38He made the defence look amateur. At this level, that's a hell of an achievement.

Soccer is a British term. It's their nickname for the sport they modernized, which was called Association Football.
-James
P.S. You might need to contact the Italians too. - BalancingAct, on 04/06/2009, -6/+27The world isn't America. The vast majority of the world call it football.
The game you call football is played mostly with the hands, and is just a version of rugby but with protective pads to stop you getting hurt. - K-Flow, on 04/06/2009, -5/+25this match ended 6-1. seven goals were scored. these are the top 2 teams currently in the bundesliga. please tell me how this match is average to you.
- fandyboy, on 04/06/2009, -4/+24Baseball, what kind of sport is that? A load of fat ***** hitting a ball with a twig.

- Stavrosian, on 04/06/2009, -0/+18Honestly, if we can't call both things "football" and work it out from context, we may as well just hand our computers over to somebody who might be able to make more use of them. Like a dog, or a potato.
- BrutePhysics, on 04/06/2009, -5/+23That heel tap was absolutely epic.
