- inactive, on 05/15/2008, -3/+52"soccer"? in a uk paper?
proof daily mail is written by americans.
being ***** makes sense now. - inactive, on 05/15/2008, -0/+20"..apprentice players are still relatively lowly paid. James is thought to be on about £300 a week."
They make it seem so low. Man, if only I got paid 300 pounds(585USD) a week at age 20. - makkaveli19, on 05/15/2008, -0/+10it makes me smile when i see people do these things. i hate it when athletes forget that they were fans at one time too.
- winmywii, on 05/15/2008, -0/+9I have no idea what the cost of living is there, but $600 a week is pretty good here.
- inactive, on 05/15/2008, -2/+11that FOOTBALL player is French :)
Therefore French are nice people (besides our sucker president). - rlray216, on 05/15/2008, -0/+9Wow - that's generous!
- Jus2Gud, on 05/15/2008, -0/+8That works out to be £14,400 a year, without tax. Assuming you left school at 18 theres no reason you wouldn't be earning that by the time you're 20 in some sort of office job, even retail would probably get you close to that amount. Say your pay is around £6.50 an hour, 9-5 for five days a week would get you £12,480. And the pay at Asda is around £6.50 so I'm not being unrealistic in terms of how much you would get paid either.
- inactive, on 05/15/2008, -0/+5that's like saying it's ridiculous to call english ***** ***** and them being offended by it since they invented the language.
- TeflonDom, on 05/15/2008, -4/+10Soccer is an English term - short for Association Football
- inactive, on 05/15/2008, -0/+5I live in the USA, do you have any idea what the Iraq War is doing to our currency???
- Timmyftw, on 05/15/2008, -2/+7Its good to see there are genuinely good people left in the world.
- AoiTakuma, on 05/15/2008, -0/+5Read the Article. Thats the first thing the kid said. Kapo said he'd pay for the insurance for a year.
- bella2k, on 05/15/2008, -0/+3Makes you smile that there are still some damn good people out there.
- winmywii, on 05/15/2008, -0/+3We would have to pay gift tax on that in the U.S. I believe.
- crownedgriffin, on 05/15/2008, -0/+3My thoughts exactly. That isn't that much money in the long run, but it's more than I make now.
- Enderplayer1, on 05/15/2008, -0/+3Oprah wishes she was this generous.
- Myonosken, on 05/15/2008, -1/+3Well he's got a year free. He'll probably end up selling it and buying an affordable one.
- LostRiot, on 05/15/2008, -2/+4really? the only time I ever hear people use the term is when they're taking the piss out of the US
- Supernova36, on 05/15/2008, -0/+3Have fun trying to insure it at 20.
- inactive, on 05/15/2008, -0/+3I think road fund license - car tax - is about $300 a year for an SLK Mercedes.
Not exactly a problem, really. - Supernova36, on 05/15/2008, -0/+2In that case, have fun trying to insure it at 21.
- Myonosken, on 05/15/2008, -2/+3On a gift? On a material gift?
Wtf, - ramunenke, on 05/15/2008, -4/+6thank you i am tired of europeans getting incensed when americans call it soccer, especially when the english made it up
- TheHim, on 05/15/2008, -0/+1It's funny that you get buried for saying that, by the not so generous i guess.
- MaybeMike, on 05/15/2008, -0/+1oh this is some classic Kapo
- IdlersDream, on 05/15/2008, -0/+1He could get it, just mega expensive. Kapo has also said he'll pay for that for the first year. Not that it's going to break his bank considering he probably earns over £30k per week.
- Elliuotatar, on 05/15/2008, -1/+2"Looking after the boots used to be a big part of the job, although the role is a little less defined these days."
Boot boy's takin' it in the boot! - almir, on 02/26/2009, -0/+1wohoo, thats called "to be on right playe at right time"
http://www.mysoccerplace.net
http://premiershiphighlights.blogspot.com - Heiminator, on 05/15/2008, -3/+4not in europe....
- coldfusion1970, on 06/11/2008, -0/+1It doesnt matter if its 'only a weeks wages' to Kapo, its still bloody nice that he decided to do it. Noone asked (or forced) him to do it.
- troon, on 05/15/2008, -0/+1It's VED (vehicle excise duty), and it'll be more than $300, for sure. Exactly how much depends on the CO2 output of the vehicle.
- quadvods, on 05/15/2008, -0/+1I think Kapo fancies him...
- quomen, on 05/15/2008, -0/+1Does the UK have a gift tax? In the U.S. the gift tax applies to most things past around $10k.
- spiraltri3e, on 05/15/2008, -3/+6We say soccer occasionally.
- Twenty, on 05/15/2008, -2/+3He's playing a sport. It's akin to the NBA players who don't make it to the top national teams. They share apartments and live in a very low salary. It's not a lot to live off of, and it's not like it's a temporary job either, it's a career.
- chirio, on 05/15/2008, -1/+1i will clean boots for bugatti veyron and 1 year gas bill !
- alistairlp, on 05/15/2008, -1/+1*Football* Star's Ama..
Even if the Daily Mail are running it with a 'soccer' headline, I wouldn't trust one of those lumps of s**te - Myonosken, on 05/15/2008, -1/+1Ahahahahaha
- inactive, on 05/15/2008, -2/+2i have an amazing gift to boot boys, too. i get good distance.
- PiuliTza, on 05/16/2008, -0/+0That is very generous! :)
- bundwallah, on 05/15/2008, -0/+0Or he can arrange a sale of the car. Plus the article says the player paid the insurance for 1 year. So the boot boy has got himself a sweet ride for one year and is going to be knee deep in "booty" :)
- bundwallah, on 05/20/2008, -0/+0I did, read my comment. See here -> "Plus the article says the player paid the insurance for 1 year." And you got dugg up for being a smartass?
- thebigbradwolf, on 05/15/2008, -0/+0I think you mean THERE EXISTS at least one French person who was nice AT LEAST once...
- Mercindia, on 05/21/2008, -0/+0It is generous but when you consider that is probably only a weeks wages to the player in question, what is it really?
- iugin, on 06/02/2008, -0/+0I think soon will be a waiting list for this kind of job.
- gllopc, on 05/15/2008, -2/+1He's a gifted boy booter?
- thebigbradwolf, on 05/15/2008, -1/+0In america, soccer players don't wear "boots" (nor are they part of a car).
- keving727, on 05/15/2008, -1/+0dude looks like he could be Scarlett Johanson's brother
- Dundasbro, on 05/15/2008, -4/+2Stop being such a purist.
