- noahhoward, on 10/10/2007, -7/+16Rest of World > Americans
- Bridea, on 10/10/2007, -2/+10Action shots. Like Australia's Lauren Colthorpe getting punched in the face by Andreia.
- bhowell, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8(^ NSFW)
- lcstein, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8Actually nobody really cares....I mean even Brasil, who's a football crazy country, gave any media coverage to this event at all.
- springboks, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Some sad comments - Awesome Digg!
- erejection, on 10/10/2007, -6/+11And that is why it is the biggest sport on the planet. :)
- auxide, on 10/10/2007, -7/+12*football* rocks -- period;) watch a few games and try not get hooked on it:D
- zengonzo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5It must be a disappointing realization that your life is not a movie in which the sole plot point is maximizing your sexual arousal.
- Pake, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5The Women's World Cup > all men's soccer. The women at least play the game and don't act like a bunch of pansies. Men's soccer is like wrestling, all acting with a little bit of action, while women's is like mixed martial arts, no acting and tons of action. Now this isn't the case with all sports obviously, but for soccer it is.
- sinnuendo, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Actually this was the first time that women's football was ever given decent coverage in Brasil, albeit not as much as men's.
- mramer, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4I watched as many games as I could. The Women's World Cup is gradually getting more attention in the USA. Because of players like Mia Hamm, Brandi Chastain, and now Abby Wombach young girls have a sports role model other than a tennis girl in a cute little skirt.
Hats off to the women of each team and the sportsmanship they showed this year. Germany looked great and didn't allow a single goal to be scored on them. Brazil's Marta is only 21 and looked amazing. We will definately hear more from her in the coming years.
And any girl who gets kicked in the head, receives 11 stitches and walks back out on the field to finish playing a game like Abby Wombach did is far from sissy girls play. - whorelock, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Plenty of Americans (myself inculded) love futbol, more than most of my small minded fatass fellow americans realize. Congrats to the US Womens team for giving it their all!
- DocHoliday22, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3I've been watching this on TV, have to say, it's not the same as the male version, it's quite boring.
- D3m0n14k, on 10/10/2007, -3/+6Good commitment in image 8, that had to hurt.
- Pake, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3*****? Nah, it's the sad truth. Male soccer players are a bunch of pussies.
- newsheatdotcom, on 10/10/2007, -5/+8Germany's team has some of the scariest looking *women* that I saw the entire tournament. Looking at them compared to the other teams, it is no wonder they won.
- tehperil, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Good tournament bu the goalkeeping was lousy
- mikemx, on 10/25/2007, -0/+2ok girls world cups over . . now get back to the kitchen!
- jbird123, on 11/15/2007, -3/+5oh, they're all women?
and womens football just doesn't matter (go to work and ask who knows who even won the womens world cup? lol)
:P its true, but na there probably better than about 99% of us here lol, and there are some cool pics there :) so dugg anyway - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Womens professional *changes channel*
- MrARPA, on 11/07/2007, -1/+2I watched a few of the matches. It's sort of like schoolboy football. There's lots of space for the players and many of the goals are rather "soft".
- gllopc, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Oh, it's a much better game because they stick to the fundamentals. (womens basketball reference)
- DarkAoi, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1"After Germany become the first team to retain the Women's Soccer World Cup..."
Am I the only one noting a little grammar mistake? - adandersen, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Too bad this comment string shows how many idiots there still are in the world.
Or did I miss the irony...oh, wait, still not funny. - ronaldinho, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1better stamina? I have seen instances in which the girl clearly aren't fit enough and ruin everything because they are TIRED
- Matt-lars, on 10/10/2007, -3/+4I'd like to see you take any one of these women on in a game of football
- Nodaki, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3Ugh them North Korean chicks are absolutely hideous.
- ruthless34, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2PFFF
- Pake, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1It's not ignorance when it's the truth. I've watched both cups in recent years and the women's excitement KILLED the men's. I fell asleep during the men's on multiple occasions because they kept falling over and acting like they were hurt.
- minotauro, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1All women ? Check pic 6 and you will find a guy playing with Japan ....
- NorthKorea, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2hey those chicks are hot compared to other north korean women.... trust me......
- XISUPERMANIX, on 10/10/2007, -3/+4I did watch a few games and nearly killed myself from the boredom. It sucks, it really sucks.
- surilamin, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Your statement is a 100% true. buried.
- goerg, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3omg they are sportives not models
they wouldn't have won if they were a bunch of r'n'b pussys
and to quote the dove advertisement "no wonder our perception of beauty is distorted" - graemee, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Needed some headbutt.

thanks man - jbird123, on 11/15/2007, -2/+2erm, just actually took another look at that site - NOT safe for work! oops :S
- BirthTax, on 10/10/2007, -4/+4Americans care more about the women's team than the mens, or at least we did 12 years ago. In the US soccer is a girl's game. (The ugly American in me wants to add it is in the rest of the world too. I've never seen a sport filled with so many diving drama queens as I did when I tuned in to 10 minutes of the world cup. Nut up and play on!)
- anybody99, on 10/25/2008, -0/+0Indeed women's soccer is improving each day and we can see that in Fifa World Cup, but still the distance between being equal to men's soccer industry is very big i would say. I think that on most Fifa games like Fifa 09 there is no women uniform and no women players - am i wrong?
http://www.buyfifa.com/ - roxya, on 10/10/2007, -5/+5Not enough action in this PHOTO ESSAY for you?
You're American, right? - inactive, on 06/13/2008, -0/+0Women soccer is getting better, still needs more time for them to get paid what they are worth.
http://www.austinssoccer.com - MLSfan22, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Check out BigSoccer.com, the most popular forum for American soccer fans.
- vyralinfection, on 10/10/2007, -3/+3Rest of the world doesnt care either, women playing soccer, ha!
- MLSfan22, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0I'm an American and soccer is my 2nd favorite sport, only behind football.
- zaii7, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2what good is all that soccer running gonna do when they are on their backs?
- Araxen, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2It's the biggest sport because the rest of the world is poor and broke and kicking around a ball takes no skill.
- kedohmen, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Ok, you all got dugg up, I dont get it? Is it because of my attack on the WNBA?
