- djpray2k, on 03/03/2009, -0/+20I don't know why Beckham thinks he deserves the move. He chose to follow the money and join LA and must have known the impact it would have on his career as a footballer as opposed to that of a celebrity/brand.
Maybe it wasn't him who made the decesion? I'm looking at you Victoria. - JackGrinnan, on 03/03/2009, -2/+12Seriously? She looks plastic. I'd pass.
- lugey, on 03/03/2009, -2/+11ronaldo is the ultimate douche
- a1cd, on 03/03/2009, -2/+8It's not my money, and too be honest I rather watch him play on Milan then LA... and I am one of the few people who actually follow the MLS (Toronto FC)
- Phate8263, on 03/03/2009, -0/+6Um F$$K Off?
- CACuzcatlan, on 03/03/2009, -0/+5This isn't even the biggest MLS new of the day. The Seattle Sounders announced that they have sold over 20,000 season tickets (more than the Mariners), have sold out their season opener at 32,400 seats, and will increase capacity for regular reason games from 24,500 to 27,700.
- lysdexia, on 03/03/2009, -4/+9That's right.
He's had a career at Manchester Utd, Real Madrid, AC Milan and over 100 caps for England - many as captain.
Jut a hunch - but I think he might be at least a bit good at football. - lugey, on 03/03/2009, -0/+4unfortunately for you there are only so many players like ronaldinho, robinho and messi.
although entertaining, REAL football is what gets you on the edge of your seat, no matter what kind of salary the player is on. it doesnt need to cost 100k a week.
and look at beckham in his prime (for man utd and england a few years ago). look at his set pieces, free kicks and crosses then tell me hes not skillful. - m3arvk, on 03/03/2009, -0/+3It isn't a move is it? It appears to be just an extended loan.
I think his wife prefers England but I don't have much proof for that assertion. - lugey, on 03/03/2009, -0/+3why sign a long term deal, then talk about wanting to leave before its even nearly complete? it happens too often, especially in the EPL, im not so aware of other league's dealings.
- inactive, on 03/03/2009, -0/+3Oh please!
AC Milan is better off without him. They don't need him.
Let him be miserable in LA Galaxy since he joined them in the first place! - Bchiz, on 03/03/2009, -0/+3All I'm about is tha dolla dolla billssssss
- CACuzcatlan, on 03/03/2009, -0/+2I'm a Galaxy fan and I can't wait to boo him and yell all sorts of profanities, in English and in Spanish, while calling him out as the traitorous bitch that he is.
- Valyn, on 03/03/2009, -0/+2Except for the people who dugg you down. Which at the moment outnumber those who don't care.
- gfox, on 03/03/2009, -0/+2His first game back is at the Wizards, can't wait to boo him.
- 22justin, on 03/03/2009, -0/+2Im CDN and I have to say I hate how people that go to TFC / Whitecaps games are so British in their approach as fans. Im guessing in Montreal its different. but for me I stopped going to whitecaps games after sitting in the 'curve' with a bunch of assclowns acting like their in liverpool.
- rtaibah, on 05/22/2009, -0/+2As if their season isn't over? Out of the UEFA cup, out of Coppa, and 3rd place with a 12 point difference?
- bbeep, on 03/03/2009, -0/+2Because the initial deal was a marketing move/publicity stunt by both the Galaxy and MLS. It worked very well by the way. What kind of long term contract includes an option for the player to opt out of it after completing less than 1/4 of its term?
- supertom, on 03/03/2009, -2/+4And the Sterotypical American award goes to robEstyles. Congratulations have a cookie and some ice cream
- randmcnally, on 03/03/2009, -4/+5you only followed Toronto FC because it was the trendy thing to do last year. everyone in town started speaking with a British accent and wearing red scarves, pathetic.
- estigma, on 03/04/2009, -0/+1What about Messi, Zidane, Figo, Ronaldinho, Robinho...
Cristiano is a great football player! - estigma, on 03/04/2009, -0/+1He is good in getting send off by England!
He is a good player. He will stay in Football history for his off field activities. Not his game!
I like players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Messi, Zidane, Figo, Ronaldinho (The Barça years)... Football Gods! Not fashion victims! - inactive, on 03/03/2009, -0/+1Do you actually watch football, or do you just like to rant. The game is about far more than individual footwork, a player like becks creates opportunities on the field, he opens up the game, and allows players like Kaka to work their magic.
If you'd seen AC play lately you might have noticed that Beckham is in the best form of his life, and is AC's most consistent player right now - supertom, on 03/03/2009, -2/+3This is the first time I've seen him on the FP in about 4 or 5 months.
- libertao, on 03/03/2009, -2/+2Yeah right
http://images.askmen.com/galleries/singer/victoria ... - coondog117, on 03/03/2009, -5/+5who cares?
- tomjowitt, on 03/03/2009, -2/+2Modern day football has nothing to do with 'deserving' to be somewhere.
I'm sure he was behind the decision though. Maybe he thought he could just turn up in the US and raise the profile of the game but he must have soon realised the standard of US football isn't up to much. As an England fan I'm glad he's staying in Italy as he's a great player to bring on as a sub for 20 minutes and knock balls into the area. - warriorscot, on 03/03/2009, -1/+1I don't think he would really care that much either way its not like he doesn't have enough money now that he needs to play. He probably just wants to play football rather than sit on his ass.
- randmcnally, on 03/03/2009, -2/+2you know who's a dick, the people yelling: THE REF IS A WANKER. as Canadians we really have no right to be throwing the word wanker around.
- RickyTheRiot, on 03/03/2009, -2/+2He's not the player he was, and I think he's regretting joining the MLS as he probably thought he could single handedly convert the American nation into loving "proper" football. Plus he's been told by Capello (England manager) that he needs to be playing at a high level on a regular basis in order to be picked for the national squad, and Galaxy isn't that.
- inactive, on 03/03/2009, -0/+0It is only an extension because he doesn't have the option of buying out his contract until January, when the move will likely become permanent.
- CACuzcatlan, on 03/03/2009, -1/+1David Beckham is gonna help Milan avoid making into the dreaded Champions League and maybe even avoid the UEFA Cup
- inactive, on 03/03/2009, -1/+1His tactical awareness of the game, his passing of the ball, and of course his set piece ability make him one of the best footballers in the world.
- flinchus, on 03/11/2009, -0/+0You don't know the meaning of football, British supporters aren't fake arse like the american league which has some of the poorest quality football which is boring to watch. Without atmosphere a match aint nothing you may as well sit at home watchin the bloody thing. This aint golf! What the f*ck do you mean acting like their in liverpool anyway?
- darkosh25, on 03/04/2009, -1/+1You must be Portugese...
Just because the girls think he is good looking and lots of companies have wanted to capitalise on that, does not make him a fashion victim. Soccer players have a shelf life. He is just making his money while he still can.
And you're telling me that Christiano Ronaldo isn't a fashion victim?
Ha ha ha... - inactive, on 03/03/2009, -1/+0i agree that it happens to often in European football, but it makes sense for becks, as he will never play international football if he is playing in the MLS.
- frasermoo, on 03/03/2009, -4/+3Toronto FC support will be just as strong this season. The atmosphere at the games beats anything else in Toronto hands-down.
- m3arvk, on 03/03/2009, -5/+4Don't be a dick.
- estigma, on 03/03/2009, -6/+5David Beckham is a fashion icon, not a soccer icon!
Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi both are true soccer gods! - mynewopinion, on 03/03/2009, -2/+1EPIC FAIL
- m3arvk, on 03/03/2009, -4/+3Hopefully everyone's happy with this. Becks gets to play with a high level club which should help him secure a place on the national team and LA gets him back at the end of the Serie-A season.
- ncizzle, on 03/04/2009, -1/+0Wonder what Posh thinks :) lol, sad thing is Becks is playing better footy than he has in a while, but now he's embroiled in this nonsense
http://deciphersoccer.com/2009/02/17/the-beckham-g ... - briLo, on 03/03/2009, -3/+2I wasn't sure which was more important..........the current state of the economy or where David Beckham takes his next *****??
I'm glad he'll be ***** on the other side of the pond as I don't like seeing that squirrelly ***** on television!!!!!!!! - Hraes, on 03/03/2009, -4/+3I was yawning when I saw this headline, and it read "MILKY WAY GALAXY TO REACH DAVID BECKHAM AGREEMENT". I mean, I know people think he's important and all, but the whole galaxy cares? Seriously?
- supertom, on 03/03/2009, -3/+2ucccft, you know that the English Premiership is the fastest and most exciting league in the sport right?
