- rpieszak, on 07/15/2009, -4/+24I'm sure I'll get buried, but it kinda looks like he was trying to stop the ball.
Edit: the soccer ball - DreadedWalrus, on 07/15/2009, -0/+15I hate to be That Guy, but this isn't league football (or soccer, if you prefer), and he isn't a league manager. This is an international match between Mexico and Panama. FWIW, the manager's name is Javier Aguirre, and he's the manager of the Mexican side, and also one of the most prominent Mexican managers there is.
- vtbarrera, on 07/15/2009, -1/+11Yeah, we can use Digg.com as well.
- inactive, on 07/15/2009, -2/+9He should be banned for at least couple of years.
- SeizetheDavis, on 07/15/2009, -1/+7The Mexican national has been full of douches for the past few decades. This didn't surprise me one bit when I saw it live. <_<
- crunkoi, on 07/15/2009, -1/+7we can also find out were you sleep.
- inactive, on 07/15/2009, -1/+6Or fined 2 weeks wages, about $24 I should think.
- DreadedWalrus, on 07/15/2009, -0/+5Managers can be sent to watch the rest of the game from the stands (ejected, basically). This severely limits their ability to control the technical side of their squad, or pretty much manage the team at all. Usually they're allowed to communicate with, say, the assistant manager via radio, who can then relay his instructions that way.
In this case, Javier Aguirre was ejected, and the player involved (for pushing the manager back) was sent off for unsportsmanlike conduct. - tlo182, on 07/15/2009, -0/+5That title makes my head hurt.
Furthermore, I thought this story was for sure about an expert Mexican soccer manager who was shot south of the border (in Mexico). - emirkustrika, on 07/15/2009, -0/+3Yet more reasons to stop watching international matches where Mexico is involved... I have lost all hope in this country (trust me, football (it's football dammit!) is very far from being the only reason)
- Alcorr, on 07/15/2009, -0/+3Beat me to it, trying hitting the ball you morons....
- jordanmoore, on 07/15/2009, -0/+2NUTS!!!
- Rudymoman, on 07/15/2009, -0/+2Where's Woody Hayes when you need him?
- crunkoi, on 07/15/2009, -4/+6I actually watched this game.. and he was just trying to stop the ball. Either way he got expelled so ***** it.
they should show the vid were the panamanian just throws himself off the stretcher to delay time. Either way WOOOT MEXICO. - MrSteamTank, on 07/15/2009, -2/+4Oh you crazy Mexicans always up to your crazy shenanigans!
- casspa, on 07/15/2009, -2/+4If there was something worse than a red card that manager should get it.
- StroodleNoodle, on 07/25/2009, -0/+1Did anyone actually watch this game in its entirety? Not a fan but happened to just watch it and saw the opposing team play pretty damn dirty the entire time. I say the guy and his entire team (Panama) deserved to be kicked in the nuts.
- Mexrocker, on 07/15/2009, -0/+1this was one of the worst games I have ever seen. People from both teams were acting very unprofessionally. I felt like I was watching a couple of kids playing with the way some people on both teams were acting.
- webadelic, on 07/15/2009, -0/+1no punch up...?
- eastwoodleone67, on 07/15/2009, -0/+1What's even more surprising is that the guy didn't double over in pain
- Po0py, on 07/15/2009, -3/+4The ball was on the ground. His foot was penis high.
- thegrantman, on 07/15/2009, -0/+1SCOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORE !!!!!!!!
- jsnchmpn, on 07/15/2009, -0/+1I was thinking that it kinda looked more like he was using his foot to point to the ball that it was out of bounds, but this is a tough one. Notice that it looks like his foot and hand come up at the same time as if to declare to the ref that the ball was out, during that last two replays. I'm not so sure that he meant to make contact. However, the first two replays look totally different. Nevertheless, it was a stupid reaction. Such a passionate sport makes people do crazy things :) That's one reason I love it!
- paulsmith288, on 07/15/2009, -0/+1you cant do that at international level.
- nVious, on 07/15/2009, -0/+1whata bitch kick
- BoneStamp, on 07/15/2009, -1/+2Well done. The best way to express the fact that one minority group was offended is to offend another minority group.
- inactive, on 07/15/2009, -0/+1Lolz
- Dalif, on 07/15/2009, -0/+1Sad he didn't kick him properly. Would've been more fun.
- OG1502, on 07/15/2009, -3/+3He was trying to stop the football. It's common sense...
- eoliva, on 07/29/2009, -0/+0Dont comment on what you dont know is my way to go.
- eoliva, on 07/29/2009, -0/+0I agree with you Panama team were the dirty ones at soccer unlike wakeboardertj said.
- metafizikal, on 07/15/2009, -2/+1south of the border.... heh heh
- DreadedWalrus, on 07/15/2009, -2/+1Oh, and Aguirre was suspended for three games as a result of this incident. These matches will now have to be taken care of, I assume, by the assistant manager, and the manager will not be allowed to take part in them.

"Aguirre's suspension was to start with Mexico's last group game on Sunday against Guadeloupe. He's eligible to return for the final on July 26 if Mexico qualifies.
If eliminated before the semifinals, any remaining games would be served in World Cup qualifying. Mexico's next qualifier is at home against the United States on Aug. 12."
Let's hope Mexico get eliminated before the semi finals, eh? ;) - ggrovas66, on 07/15/2009, -1/+0The games sucked. However the fans were very entertaining. Watch this video...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lvKfVHMsPMI - rjs090100, on 07/15/2009, -1/+0If they had told me I was getting sent off for unsportsmanlike conduct for retaliating from an intentional kick to the nuts, I would have gone ahead and decked the guy.
- GraphiteBlimp, on 07/15/2009, -4/+1Reported for epic faggotry.
- inactive, on 07/15/2009, -5/+2Hey, that's that game with the spotty ball that no one gives a ***** about after 8th grade. I remember that.
- TriNiiTy, on 07/15/2009, -6/+3He's obviously a racist.
- wakeboardertj, on 07/16/2009, -3/+0Wow is it really that surprising? Mexicans are the dirtiest soccer players of all.
- inactive, on 07/15/2009, -24/+7What.. Mexicans do more than garden?
