- airwalkery2k, on 09/18/2008, -0/+80Soon, you'll be finding kids keeping scores underground. Is that what they want? Unsupervised tabulations? That's a gateway into the dark world of sports broadcasting.
- moneyswears, on 09/18/2008, -3/+43This way we're all winners!
- inactive, on 09/18/2008, -1/+37I hate it when people do stuff like this. They fail to understand how important competition is. Competition creates better players.
It works just like business and commerce - competition between two corporations for customers creates better conditions for the consumer. - why3th, on 09/18/2008, -0/+30Since no one receives prizes, technically they're all losers.
- inactive, on 09/18/2008, -2/+28Well.. "you should have though of that when you teach them how to count!"
- why3th, on 09/18/2008, -0/+24In America, EVERYONE wins prizes!
In Europe, NO ONE wins prizes!
AMERICA ***** YEAH - powatom, on 09/18/2008, -0/+22I'm fairly sure 7 and 8 year olds can keep count of a few goals.
If anything, this is probably going to increase competitiveness and anger. Imagine this:
Team A: "We won!"
Team B: "No, WE won!"
Team A: "No I counted, we won!"
etc etc etc.
And then the knives come out. - sockpuppets, on 09/18/2008, -0/+22I was out of control, before I knew it I was an accountant.
- whodat807, on 09/18/2008, -1/+20Some mighty impressive reading comprehension skills you got there.
- jonpirtle, on 09/18/2008, -1/+20You do realize this is a Telegraph article from the UK right?
- why3th, on 09/18/2008, -0/+16Unless one team loses and the referee gives them 85,000,000,000 points to make them feel better.
- ileftfark, on 09/18/2008, -3/+16The pussification of Amer...
Oh *****. We're contagious. - sexybobo, on 09/18/2008, -0/+12I am still trying to figure out how they will keep them from knowing the score while they are playing the game.
- chrisdjohnson, on 09/18/2008, -0/+12"It doesn't matter who wins, just have fun! Now run along to school son, and don't let the door hit you in the Vagina on your way out!"
- Sowdi, on 09/18/2008, -0/+11How many times do they actually kick a ball in American 'football'? I think football makes more sense for a game where you actually kick the ball- a lot.
- mayra1201, on 09/18/2008, -0/+10For a second I thought this was from the Onion.
- tman84, on 09/18/2008, -4/+14Product of Socialist "we're all the same homogeneous *****" with stress on *****
- kaygee08, on 09/18/2008, -1/+11These lawmakers FAIL at life.
- Edgen22, on 09/18/2008, -0/+9From what I gathered of those "above guys", it originally said America, and he changed it to world.
- Skywise, on 09/18/2008, -2/+10Hey, I gotta idea... let's not teach them to read and write... then they'll never be able to figure out their own collected information (let alone collect their own stats) this will cut back on diversity and competitiveness and all will be a perfect utopia...
- inactive, on 09/18/2008, -0/+8hey, how bout we quit banning stuff and try parenting?
- psyjoniz, on 09/18/2008, -1/+9yeah, nice edit.
- Hetman, on 09/18/2008, -5/+12Pussification of the U.K I fixed that for you. Not that it is not happening in america also, I am just saying. And also they are talking about soccer not football.
- consonance, on 09/18/2008, -0/+7Oh my god, think about what kind of statistics these kids will be getting into! Means, outliers, modes, and--dare I say it?--regressions! Jesus Christ, where will it end?!?!?!
- mnemy, on 09/18/2008, -2/+9Stupid soccer moms. You kid doesn't really care that he lost. He had fun running around and playing with other kids. And enjoyed the pizza afterward or whatever. If your kid is really heartbroken over losing at sports, then you as a parent failed to teach him sportsmanship. Stop trying to blame the organizations for your own failures. Teach your kid it's ok to loose as long as they tried their best and they had fun.
- Taiyoryu, on 09/18/2008, -0/+6Screw the league then. Get a bunch of neighborhood kids and go play at the sandlot or local park like children used to do. We always kept score. You win some, you lose some.
- CrimsonBlur, on 09/18/2008, -2/+8Uh, no, this isn't in America. I thought that would have been obvious when they're talking about football and the picture is of kids playing "soccer". Pussification of the UK is more like it.
Honestly, at least click on the link before making an ass of yourself in the comments. People think guys like MrBabyMan is bad, but everyone else is just as bad when it comes to actually reading things, they just don't take the time to submit the stories they don't read. - geekwithsoul, on 09/18/2008, -0/+5It's in the UK genius
- bbevan7, on 09/18/2008, -0/+5I'm pretty sure the kids are gonna know if they won or not anyways....
- dse78759, on 09/18/2008, -0/+5http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y55/silverbeam/A% ...
- serif69, on 09/18/2008, -1/+6Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no sport scores too - sk11, on 09/18/2008, -0/+5What the *****? Learning that life involves winning AND losing is an important lesson and should be discovered early in life. They will eventually learn this though, it will just be a much harder lesson later on down the road.
- tk0680, on 09/18/2008, -0/+4Yeah, because those sports America excels in - NFL, Basketball, and Baseball - are played pretty much nowhere else in the world.
The UK's major sports - football (/soccer), rugby and cricket are contested by most of the world in the first case, and a large number of different countries in the other two.
America just plays by itself and declares victory. - NSResponder, on 09/18/2008, -0/+4"This is good news for Americans. "
Don't kid yourself, it's happening here, too. There's a pretty hard push from many people in the schooling cartel to completely pussify every child in the country.
-jcr - RoboRay, on 09/18/2008, -0/+4Easy... No scoreboards. No scorekeepers, either. And to keep parents or anyone else from trying to keep track themselves, all games will be played at night with the field lights turned off. Finally, to ensure that no score-keeping is possible, the ball will also be eliminated.
- CrimsonBlur, on 09/18/2008, -1/+5Oh, nice edit genius. Did you decide to go back and actually read the article, or did you just change it after seeing the comments calling you out? I bet you still haven't read it.
- sockpuppets, on 09/18/2008, -0/+4I believe the word you're looking for is americentric.
- canvashinder, on 09/18/2008, -0/+4Ban the parents and let the kids play on. If the kids want to keep score let them.
- chilibeanie, on 09/18/2008, -0/+4God, if your kid sucks at sports and is traumatized by loss, accept it and find something your kid is better at -- art, music, science, a different type of sport, whatever.
- inactive, on 09/18/2008, -0/+3will they all have to kick the goal in at the same time so that no one kid stands out as being better at the game
- whazdown, on 09/18/2008, -2/+5Are you an idiot? So we wouldn't have existed without you in 1944.. but you wouldn't have existed without us back in 17xx.. so erm.. which came first?? lol *****.
- rootsm3, on 09/18/2008, -0/+3Being a loser builds character. Take it from me.
- mohsenxp, on 09/18/2008, -0/+3Regressions!! Noooooooooooooooooo!!!
- immski, on 09/18/2008, -0/+3We wouldn't want children working hard for anything would we?
- inactive, on 09/18/2008, -1/+4This is slowly how "Socialism" turns into "Fascism" you remove guns, etc. from the population then over time you slowly create a fake sense of equality everyone's perfect, then mold peoples way of thinking by public education TV etc. then boom overnight the government is your master you are the slave, then you are in a concentration camp before you even realize WTF stage 1 is happening now in America, The UK is in stage 2 enjoy the Fish & Chips before your eating dirt in a government camp.
- graemee, on 09/18/2008, -0/+3Spelling is still optional.
- Asdfglpwglion, on 09/18/2008, -0/+3Having given it some thought, I reckon they probably ought not have been taught to read, either.
- rdavemacdonald, on 09/18/2008, -0/+3Wow, this is terrible. At what age is alright to teach kids life is competitive!
- Teh1337Pirate, on 09/18/2008, -0/+3Hey! While we're at it we might as well stop grading them in school too! Wouldn't want them to compete to get better grades to get into a better college so they actually make something of their lives.
