Still, good to see FOOTBALL on the front page.- overacid, on 10/12/2007, -3/+22Yeah whats with the "Soccer" category. C'mon... Football. it's the world game, and "y'all" know it is.

~K - Electric_Sheep, on 10/12/2007, -11/+10Ronaldo is slow and fat now. He's past his prime. Waste of money.
- pooper, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8still a smart player, he now uses his weight and his body to his advantage now, he can still score
- dimplemonkey, on 10/12/2007, -7/+3Your slow, fat, past your prime and not making near the money he makes!
- naio21, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2Who dreams of Electric Sheep?
- datcrazydj, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Sorry, but he looks like a horse.
- br0ck, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Actually everyone's saying that he's been losing weight and is looking much more fit.
- patik, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@datcrazydj "Sorry, but he looks like a horse."
You obviously haven't seen Ronaldinho.

- MMeldrum, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yep.
- Goldkill, on 10/12/2007, -20/+0Bury this irrelevant bollocks. As if whenever I turn on BBC News 24 it seems to be sport doesn't ***** me off enough, now it's happening to Digg. This is a site for intellectuals, not ball-kicking flatheads.
GK- willdiggforfood, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2That's because you're gay
- donnyburnside, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Oh so we're not allowed our discussion here? As a sport fan I take offense to you calling fellow sports fan unintellectual. And I imagine everyone else who posted here did. That why your sorry ass has been dugg down. If you don't like the subject, don't click it. Its extremely simple but seeing as you are an intellect yourself, you would know this.

- kevinthegeek, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2Ronaldo sucks now. His time is past, he's fat and slow.
- therealrico, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I think this is a beneficial trade for both teams. Ronaldo appears to be past his prime, however this might help him reignite his career. AC Milan are in need of a proven goalscorer, Oliveria isn't working out, and Gilardino and Pippo Inzaghi play too similar to be effecting together. Ronaldo had fallen out of favor at Madrid, especially with the fans after his comments last year, and Capello was not interested in him. If he can get motivated and get himself back into shape I don't see why he can't be an effective 15 goal a season player until 33 with AC Milan.
This is a good short term solution for AC MIlan, they need to get some new blood in that team, especially in the defense. I wouldn't be surprised to see them very busy this summer with the Shevchenko money they have yet to really spend, and put it towards a revitalized defense, and a couple of younger forwards. - jerryparid, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Its all about Ronaldinho Gaúcho. Ronaldo is too phat.
- therealrico, on 10/12/2007, -6/+4You mean Cristian Ronaldo, he is the new hotness on the planet
- Sheaf, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4And by new hotness you must mean new grass diving champion. Cristiano Ronaldo elicits frequent booing from fans of his own team.
Just about everyone hates him and for good reason. He's bad for the sport. - kronix2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm guessing he took your team apart recently, because only that would explain why you'd falsely claim his own fans boo him.
- cgeorge, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3No, that's absurd. What kind of fan boos his club's leading scorer? Man. United fans couldn't possibly love him more right now.
He's the most promising young talent in the game right now and you know it. - physis, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2you mean cesc fabregas is the most promising young player, right?
- mariowario, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2don't forget Robin van Persie!
- iwannakno, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Bottom line...Man. Utd should have picked Quaresma over Cristiano Ronaldo.
- kronix2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Cesc is excellent, but his performances haven't matched Ronaldo's this season.
Van Persie? If the criteria include controlling the ball with your hand in order to score, then maybe. - Akronos, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2As much as I hate C. Ronaldo, I have to acknowledge he is playing ridiculously good. He has like 13 goals in the premiership this year.
- Istari6, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Christiano Ronaldo booed by fans of his own team? What have you been smoking.
"He plays on the left
he plays on the right
our boy Ronaldo
makes England look *****"
- queenmary101010, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Form is temporary; class is permanent. He hasn't played much recently at Real but he did score a bundle of goals while he was there, and he should do quite well for a few years at AC milan.
and it is great to see some football on the front page, it is about time! - rupprupp29, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0So much for those Ronaldo / MLS rumors
- Lou3000, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Wow, what a waste of £5m.
- gaagaale, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4at least they didn't spend (sign) $250m on beckham.
- chiva, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1why hire an ex inter and real madrid diva mr. berlousconi? you should have never let scheva or crespo leave, in the first place. we need more players like gattuso, maldini, inzaghi who play like it´s their last. how many overpriced strikers have you bought in recent years with absolutely no results... vieri, gilardino, lentini. we need team players, not prima donna´s or jet setters. thank god you couldn´t bought beckham also.
- Lou3000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Nobody else has a more disappointing, yet higher paid group of strikers.
- Carlsb3rg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Milan let Shevchenko go cuz he did not want to stay @ Milan anymore, Thanks to his (wait for it).. American wife, who says she wants her children to speak english. what a lame excuse.
I think Ronaldo can bag at least a dozen. But realistically though, what AC need is new young blood to replcace their aging squad. - brotherfranciz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1@ Carlsb3rg:
Wow, please tell me you are not a Milan fan. You either say AC Milan or just Milan, but never "AC", it's a bit like saying "FC" instead of Liverpool... - kronix2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1AC Milan is commonly referred to as Milan by their fans, while Inter Milan fans call their team Inter.
Something to do with the history. AC Milan came first, so I guess they have dibs on the Milan name. - sbasund, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@ brotherfranciz

- mrbutler, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0ballin
- fcbfan, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0ronaldo is lazy, fat, and spoiled....a waste of money imo
- kronix2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4He'll probably end up scoring more goals in half a season than Shevchenko scores in the entire season.
Not that I dislike Shevchenko, he's a nice guy. He made a huge mistake signing for Chelsea.- mariowario, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1i dont think he is getting enough minutes to play, when he starts he usually does good.
- polymorphist, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I seriously doubt that. Serie A is a very defensive league compared to Liga.
- Nitesh9999, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@mariowario
Shevchenko, not enough starts?
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/shared/bsp/hi/football/statistics/players/s/shevchenko_34204.stm
He's been given plenty of opportunity this season. As a United fan I hope they give him a few more.
Without Drogba's blistering form Chelsea would be in all sorts of trouble this season.
I still can't understand the sale of Duff and Gudjohnsen. Great squad players, that made them great the last two seasons, replacing them with Ballack and Shevchenko has been a mistake. - bioskope, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@polymorphist
wrong dude. You couldnt be more wrong.
Serie A is leading La Liga by a good 50 goal margin or so as far as total number of goals scored in the regular season of 06-07 goes. EPL is lagging even behind. In fact if you go back by about 30 years or so you will still see the the total number of goals scored in Serie A is still higher than that of EPL. I will give you this though Serie A has a more technical quality to it where individual brilliance can sometimes be clouded by the fact that sometimes cohesion of the team out there in the field is more stressed on by the coaches.
Please I beg you not to make such judgments on Serie A if you have only viewed it sporadically. As someone whos watched his fair share of EPL (Used to be a bigtime gunners mark) I can safely say that it couldnt possibly hope to give me the thrills and spills that are put on display in Serie A. The sheer passion thats evident in the players on the field in a Serie A game along with the fact that the gameplay was nothing like what the Serie A detractors had warned me about helped me lap it up with an enthusiasm like never before. As each year goes on I find myself more and more addicted to Serie A and La Liga and less and less interested in EPL. Post circa 2000 I have been a Roma fan and I sincerely hope they upset the scudetti dream of Internazionale this time around. - mariowario, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@ Bioskope
Word on the net is you got a thing for ysabellabrave...haha. Good job pointing out the stats though, keep em coming. (im a gunner also)
- WTFukowi, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0Let the Iranians have nukes, already. They'll stop after a thousand or so. Peace at any price, baby. If they do destroy an American city, then we'll get mad. That's assuming we can tie the nuke directily to them. Surely they wouldn't pass one to a terrorist group. The dems will show them then who the boss is. Sure, the environment will be destroyed by the limited nuclear exchange, tens of millions will die, but, peace at any price, baby. It's easy to trace nuclear explosions back to the source, so get out of the mideast now and let them get on with taking over the oil. Peace at any price, baby.
- Goldkill, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0willdiggforfood,
According to you, my contention that football doesn't belong here implies that I am gay. Explain that, child. Entertain me.
GK- donnyburnside, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Check my comment to your earlier post GoldKill. Ok.
- ericof, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That was a nice move for Ronaldo. Milan isn't expecting to get the scudetto this season so Ronaldo, probably, will have time -- and peace -- to get in shape for a great 2007-2008 season.
Anyway, I am no supporter of Milan so...- polymorphist, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Digg you for "no supporter of Milan" :)
- Carlsb3rg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Milan's goal at the moment is to nail a champions league place, and ronaldo seems like their solution.
- edstate, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1But they'll never beat the LA Galaxy... Mmmmuuuahahahahahahahaaaa!
- pecel, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3bring Sheva/Shevchenko back to Milan.
- estacado, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It would've been better if Beckham went to Milan. a Beckham-Inzaghi combination would be fantastic. Beckham can pass the long ball to Inzaghi, Inzaghi can sneak it in. Inzaghi just needs a person that can service him the ball. Gilardino is a tool. But a Kaka-Ronaldo combination can have potential. Forget the Scudetto, concentrate on the Champions League.
- brindon, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Soccer! WOW!
- Armor1901, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Part of the problem with Ronaldo, and has been with several other notable players (Like Beckham, while past his prime for sure, still has some use left in him), is his lack of fan support. The Bernabeu has been noted in the past for having extremely finicky fans. Hopefully he can find some love in Italy
- fmcivic16si, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0I am no Milan fan but good to see Ronaldo back in Serie A. It is the best league in the world and world class players should be playing there, He'll get in better shape and sock in a few goals.

- therealrico, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I bet I could talk circles around you when it comes to football, and probably smoke you on the pitch as well!
- landmonster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah, you're American. You might talk a lot of ***** but it's just basic evolution. You're ***** at football.
- solidhubris, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1To all of you who say Ronaldo is slow, try him in a footrace. He'll smoke you and 99% of people out there.
The man can still run a sub 11second 100m.- cgeorge, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Too bad you have to run way more than 100m in a match.
- dennisbier, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Well he wouldn't be allowed to play in Cambodia ;) as they just decided to ban foreign players! check it out:
