- Kanna, on 10/12/2007, -2/+19Soccer superstar Zinedane Zidane headbutts a computerized wall. Sensors record the pressure on his head and gauge his posture. This data, combined with Zidane's exact skull size —measured with painstaking accuracy—is used to ensure a perfect fit. Even armchair athletes can now enjoy this high-tech wizardry and customization from Adidas.
Sorry, couldn't resist. - boberto, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12"The measuring and fitting process is free, but if you want to buy your own specially made shoes it will cost between $40 and $65 extra, depending upon the style."
Wow, I was expecting it to cost significantly more. Not bad. - Tetravus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Adidas has its main manufacturing facility in Germany. So at least some of their shoes are child-labor free. Since they were hit with an EU investigation of their labor practices in 2000 I expect that they will have made some changes to protect their employees by now.
- Stompp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5probably not, but more than half the people I know that complain about working conditions, still buy the damn products. way more true than it should be, but the majority of people don't care unless they are personally affected... sad but for the most part true.
- Hydroxyl, on 10/12/2007, -5/+10BOOM! HEADBUTT.
- toodamfast, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2reminds me of the OH SO COOL shoe-fitting Fluoroscope that killed lots of people to make sure their shoes fit.

if you read the link you'd see they used *x-rays* to fit the shoes.. now i dont know if you know anything about x-rays but if you get an x-ray half a dozen times every time you buy a pair of shoes it's gonna do some damage. - iet2004, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You don't spend more than $30 on athletic sneakers....? Either you're buying overstock from 1991 or you spend most of your days in front of a computer...
- impulsiveboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1So, does this mean I'll eventually get to buy running shoes that don't come in traditional retina-scorching colors? Say it ain't so! Oh, wait. It isn't, as I'm not willing to fly to France just to get new shoes.
- ppeak, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Why an individual will steer clear of a brand that doesn't fit properly, no matter how exclusive that brand is?I know that Adidas fits me or not.

Sorry, I couldn't read your comment because these shoes were so loud: http://adus.imageg.net/graphics/product_images/pADIDAS1-2519475_pattern_w345a.jpg
Do you honestly doubt that Adidas is doing all they can to turn you away as a customer? Well, I'm guessing at least, assuming that you're not a blind marathon runner. - Phyltre, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Wow, they've covered some .5% of the world population!
- toodamfast, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Your link doesnt say that anyone was killed by these machines...."
sorry, how bout this one.

- shoeshine, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2That's cool. I would never do it though. I get pissed off when I have to spend more than 30 bucks on a pair of shoes, so spending 60 bucks on top of the super high prices Adidas charges would suck.
- Billions, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Do they mean 'armchair atheletes' like Zindane? Because he DID retire - they must have heard...
- soundbug, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0When Adidas introduced its mi adidas shoe customization program here in Singapore. I was rather intrigued at the prospect of customizing my own shoes. I am flatfooted and I have problems settling into many shoes be it for tennis, jogging, casual walking shoes or work. Getting the correct shoes for me was more of a chore and I didn't have much of a choice when it comes to purchasing shoes. All my shoes had to be very broad as whenever I tried anything narrower, the entire arch support area of the shoe will sink or cave in.
More information about my review on the Mi Adidas Customization for the Adidas Barricade IV tennis shoes can be found in the link below.

- Porkgod, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Do they come in size 16?
- seherezada, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Would be great to read: ex superstar Zidane bangs his head against a computerized iron Materazzi.
- djg123, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Your link doesnt say that anyone was killed by these machines....
- ethnicman, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0YOu did see that it said 40 - 65 extra right? this puts a good pair of boots at close to $200 US and up. but thinking about that that is about what some kids spend on a pair of sneakers and especially if you play regularly it may be worth it.
- Chrysalid, on 10/12/2007, -13/+2What is really needed instead of these fancy bells and whistles is an incidator whether the user has stepped on a pile of turd or not :) And I doubt the cool electronic thingies could survive the Finnish winter :)
