- Triplicate, on 02/12/2008, -1/+8They froze 40,000 inactive accounts, which means they're basically lying about having 100,000 users. They only have 60,000 minus banned/permabanned accounts. So realistically they only have about 45,000 active users, less than half what they claim.
- sassainteasy, on 02/12/2008, -1/+7Like a fool who's house just burned down, Lowtax enacts draconian security policies to make sure this doesn't happen again (just like last time).
- SuperMan0505, on 02/12/2008, -1/+7Again, this action by the TITANium-strong security of Radium and Co. makes anyone wonder "Why did I pay 10 bux?"
- ConsumerBypass, on 02/12/2008, -1/+6Still waiting for most of them to lose that tenbux for asking about it.
- welpowelpo, on 02/12/2008, -2/+7It should be noted that lots of forums users were angered by the new password requirements and posted their dissatisfaction in a thread. Lowtax dismissed their concerns with his usual cavalier attitude before moving the thread to a private subforum where outsiders and potential new customers can't see it. This is no doubt to protect himself and his company from further third-party critique.
- nbv4, on 02/12/2008, -1/+6Lowtax is blaming this all on users who had weak passwords, but this breach of security happened because of a SQL injection. Weak passwords had nothing to do with it. This whole ordeal is a red herring designed to direct attention away from the real problems, namely SA's poor technical design.
- welpowelpo, on 02/12/2008, -2/+7It should be noted that many forums users were upset by the new password requirements and posted their irritation in a thread. Lowtax has since moved the thread to a private subforum where non-members and potential customers can't see any information about how insecure SA's servers really are.
- Zorland, on 02/12/2008, -1/+6I'm sure glad I paid $10 bucks to have access to "the smartest forum on the internet".
Still trying to change my password to the new, useless, byzantine requirements that have nothing to do with how SA was hacked, but the "smartest forum on the internet"'s coder can't even write a script that asks for a new password correctly and I've remained blocked even thought I've put in 8 different passwords matching with the new criteria. - welpowelpo, on 02/12/2008, -1/+6Kyanka appears to have stepped down. I wonder if this is related? http://forums.somethingawful.com/announcement.php? ...
- lncog, on 02/12/2008, -1/+6Wow, radium really is useless
- inactive, on 02/12/2008, -1/+6You can get into people's email's too. This is ridiculous

- internetposter, on 02/13/2008, -0/+4ahahahahahah you think radium stepped down
lmao - welpowelpo, on 02/12/2008, -3/+7Don't forget that your privacy on SA means nothing. Kyanka won't balk at giving your credit card information, IP address, and other info to any third party they deem fit. It's all outlined here: http://www.digg.com/security/Something_Awful_s_Ric ...
- iheartsting, on 02/12/2008, -1/+4He's quitting to try to avoid taking responsibility for his latest mess. What a coward.
- welpowelpo, on 02/12/2008, -1/+3I'm pretty sure that banned accounts aren't subtracted from the total number. So when someone is banned and reregisters, that's actually two accounts, not one. The whole 100k users thing is totally dishonest.
- poopytimes, on 02/12/2008, -2/+3Time to Helldump the Helldumpers
- Sleepytime, on 02/13/2008, -1/+2heh
- Sleepytime, on 02/12/2008, -2/+2don't forget aim and other forums they may post on, or services they use. Most of them use the same user name on the internet.
- Sleepytime, on 02/12/2008, -4/+1what radium stepped down not too long ago, I don't think it's his fault. The new coder should have fixed his *****.
