contact me on :sharri396@gmail.com - brickholius, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0I just got this IM and logged into Yahoo at which time I got a blank page. After receiving the same message from a bunch of other people I realized I have been fooled and quickly changed my yahoo password. I can't see any changes on my computer and FF and IE still have the same homepage. Its scary not knowing if anything was affected, changed or stolen.

— mohnish (x-microsoft tech support executive) - ikenefick, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0There is not enough information here. There are lots of IM-worms going around at the moment. This is one of 1000's of them. I really see no point in these instructions as the files names you refer to are too generic. These file names could be as a result of many malicious programs out there... not just this Yahoo Trojan you speak of.
- avsharath, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It is a worm and not a virus, it isn't dangerous, but very annoying.
This is a worm that spreads itself by sending links to your contacts in messengers like Yahoo, AOL and Windows Live messengers. It disables Registry Editor and Task Manager. It changes the Internet Explorer (IE) home page and also modifies registry such that you cannot change the homepage address.
Here are simple steps following which you can get the worm removed from your system:
1) Download this file: http://avsharath.googlepages.com/RepairRegistry.reg (repairs your registry which is damaged by the worm)
2) Double click on that downloaded registry file, you will be asked wheather you're sure to add this to registry, click yes.
3) Restart your system.
4) Delete the file svhost32.exe from your Windows folder( If it is present).
5) Delete the file svhost.exe from your Windows folder( If it is present).
6) Lastly, search for: ENET.EXE and delete it if found.
And the silly worm's story ends.
This solution is also put up in my website: http://www.geocities.com/avsharath/Removing_W32_Sohana.B_Worm.htm
More information about this worm can be found at:

One small thing, I know everyone might be aware on this. the command REG ADD did not work in WIN2K. I copied the REG.EXE from XP to WIN2K and continued with the command. I was successful!!!
