WikiLeaks Win as Judge Rescinds U.S. Shutdown Order

blog.wired.com — A federal judge on Friday allowed whistleblower site WikiLeaks to resume online in the United States, a week after ordering its hosting company and domain registrar to shut down and lock the renegade's site from the Internet. The site should resume U.S. operations perhaps as early as today.

    If nothing else can be said for the intelligence of this judge,
    he at least can admit when he is wrong.

    I'm so used to our country making the wrong decisions... Bush appointment, FCC deregulation, Network Neutrality, Telecom Immunity etc. that I've become totally pre-conditioned to disappointment and discontent concerning the United States Government. What a giant win for Internet free speech. What a win for the CONSTITUTION. :)

    Admittedly there is potential for abuse, but it's just as likely that that "secret" information ends up on 4chan. Thus are the consequences (advantages/disadvantages) of free information flow (read: The Internet). Again, go grab yourself a dictionary, and come back to me when you can define "whistle blower".

There are teams of people dedicated to verifying the leaks that come in and the purpose of posting the leak. It's not run by some middle schoolers or some backwoods vigilante.

The US has nothing to do with the owner's residence nor his country of citizenship. Imagine if we apprehended criminals this way. It would have been like waiting for Saddam Hussein in Switzerland since he had accounts there.

    And not to oversimplify, but it's nice to see one of my fellow Americans admit they're wrong now and then...let alone a JUDGE of all people. He should tell the Swiss' attorneys to get the ***** out of his courthouse and quit clogging up our legal system.
