Why are my picture and name showing up on porn sites without my permission?

He is in a reputation sensitive field and was worried that people searching for his name in search engines would be directed to porn sites. Here is how it happens and what you can do about it.

  • stephdau, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Oh, dam' it... I had the same issue, with my Digg username, when I googled my online trail recently... I thought another fellow was using the same moniker, but this might just be the ticket.

    I was suspecting the bot trick, and given I'm in the exact target (university employee), the author might have just provided some valuable insight.
