This is what digg is supposed to be for, not a place for you to put your incessant images of cats. ***** the DiggChan. More articles like this making FP would be great.

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………...... - iBenx, on 06/11/2009, -2/+73Hey.. I have a job.. it's just the government doesn't know I have it.
- electronicdream, on 06/11/2009, -7/+73I'd rather have a coke on the bus and a beautiful woman in my fridge.
- xino, on 06/11/2009, -4/+69For those of you that look at this and don't know the first thing about cryptography, but want to know more about it, go listen to Security Now at grc.com/securitynow and start with episode 31 and if you want to know more about it after that, continue on through episode 37. Then if you care enough to understand SSL, first listen to episode 185 where they talk about HMAC because that's important to know to understand SSL and then listen to episode 195 which is all about SSL. There maybe other good sources of info, but it seems to me Security Now is one of the best security podcasts because for one, Steve Gibson can explain things much better than most people and two, he doesn't assume that listeners know every thing to understand the security news so he will explain a number of things that other security info sources won't.
- Spotacus, on 06/11/2009, -2/+65Someone needs to tell Bob about the three wolf moon shirt so he can wear it while drinking his Tuscan Whole Milk.
- aLuckyStar, on 06/10/2009, -7/+65Whoa...Freaky cool.
- inactive, on 06/11/2009, -1/+47I made it through about half the article before I realized that God just makes SSL work the way it does!
- brandonchicago, on 06/11/2009, -0/+45The fact that this is the 3rd most dugg story today makes me reaffirm my faith in Digg's geeky/tech user base. It feels like home again....aahhhhhhhh...
- CrossedBearings, on 06/11/2009, -2/+41I once spent 1/2 a day googling and wikipeding around to pull to together such information on the SSL handshake. Great to see it compiled nicely together.
Its always amazing what background engineering is taken for granted when using the web. Folks that are all into the CSS/HTML/Javascript are just paddling around in the top few meters of a very deep ocean. - Obsidian743, on 06/10/2009, -8/+42Very good read for people that want to learn a little about how SSL/TLS and work (and general PKCS).
- kelmaster1, on 06/11/2009, -1/+25You know, this will probably help him get a job...
- ijmok, on 06/11/2009, -5/+26That was one of the most interesting reads I’ve ever read on digg
- NYankee2003, on 06/11/2009, -2/+23June 10, 2009, 4:26:27.221 AM. Amazon.com becomes self-aware.
- razorc03, on 06/11/2009, -1/+22I WANT TO LEARN!
- cloudberries, on 06/11/2009, -8/+29learn much?
- juankovo, on 06/11/2009, -2/+22I'm fairly sure I'm glad that I don't want to learn a little about how SSL/TLS/PKCS work.
- impat, on 06/11/2009, -2/+22LOL ... these CSS/HTML/JS guys will never understand this ..
- Riek, on 06/11/2009, -3/+22Pretty cool summary. Good for a beginning network engineer or security engineer to have at hand.
- opitica, on 06/11/2009, -2/+20at night the tech comes out to play on digg.
- HonoredMule, on 06/11/2009, -0/+18Dugg for the excellent explanation of RSA.
- TheInformer, on 06/11/2009, -2/+18Now they do.
- inactive, on 06/11/2009, -1/+16Seriously. I ***** hate computers and this gay ass Digg.com website that gets in the way of my browsing experience. I'm going to go throw mine out the window.... after I submit this comment and read a couple more articles.
- inactive, on 06/11/2009, -7/+21How is babby formed?
- jrackow, on 06/11/2009, -1/+14No they don't.
- Altanar, on 06/11/2009, -4/+17Don't like the other stuff? Then why do you have them enabled? Is it easier to complain about pop articles than to go to your settings and uncheck their categories?
- wrek, on 06/11/2009, -0/+12Now they don't.
- immatellyouwhat, on 06/11/2009, -0/+12No, they do.
- kelmaster1, on 06/11/2009, -1/+13jesus, what were the other classes?
- ohplease, on 06/11/2009, -0/+12In the next episode of '220', Jack Bauer sends his user agent string to the Gmail server.
- j0rd0n420, on 06/11/2009, -1/+12Please for the love of the flying spaghetti monster spell it "cool" like a normal person.
- SasquatchBill, on 06/11/2009, -2/+13I was with you until "This is what digg is supposed to be for..."
At best, you can say "This is what Digg 'was' supposed to be for"... but you clearly miss that Digg is now bigger than just a fancy Slashdot. Personally, I like articles like this, but I also like OTHER things that are NOT like this that make the front page. Hell, I've even dugg a kitty or two (i've buried more.) If you don't like it, bury it, filter it, or go somewhere else. There's a lot of other useful options. - Altanar, on 06/11/2009, -3/+13Or, and here's an idea, you could disable everything but technology related articles. Then Digg would be a tech only site for you again.
- WiggyWack, on 06/11/2009, -0/+10Listed in order of least likely to happen to most likely to happen.
- liltbrockie, on 06/11/2009, -1/+11wow that was beautiful
- Tehrab, on 06/11/2009, -0/+9Correction (If you'll excuse an expansion of the ocean analogy): The CSS/HTML/Javascript crowd are completely on the surface, occasionally dipping below with a snorkel to see what's going on.
The PHP/Perl/Ruby/.Net/Java developers are below the surface with scuba gear.
The Apache/IIS developers are swimming around below them in some deep dive gear.
The OS/Kernel engineers are holed up at the bottom of the ocean in their uber pressurized subs. - jsp123, on 06/11/2009, -6/+15Thanks for making my brain feel like mush.
- MorpheousMarty, on 06/11/2009, -1/+10No it is not what digg is for. Digg is for letting the users decide what is popular. It has no intrinsic bias. The community decides equally what makes it to the FP. It is not a technocracy. It is in fact one of the purest representations of democracy I have ever seen in action, and as such such you, me and every single other user has to put up with the fact our views are not always the majority. Now, I agree, if you are burring an article because you can't understand it, I want to be as far from you as possible, but that is not what digg is "supposed to be". You have Slashdot for that.
- wontstoptalking, on 06/11/2009, -0/+8Aaah! The miracle of life!
- bwdd, on 06/11/2009, -0/+8Trust me, they do.
