Symantec's LiveConnect: is it REALLY Adware?

bit-tech.net — Symantec slipped an update to users last week called LiveConnect. Supposedly, it's to help customers get access to new products and upgrades that LiveUpdate couldn't handle...but why? The news brief makes a good point - if it walks like a duck and talks like a duck... is it really adware?
