- BLyn, on 10/11/2007, -4/+123Geeze... viruses aren't very nice to begin with but man.... that's just mean.
Why do i feel like a WoW player made this? - nasium, on 10/11/2007, -0/+98Another reason why not to use Kazaa!
- PhoenixAvatar2, on 10/11/2007, -1/+92Uh, uh, uh! You didn't say the magic word!
- xerus, on 10/11/2007, -22/+112Yeah I cant wait to switch to Linux to avoid viruses that require me to download and install them. Then I'll be able to run Photo--.. no... um Maya-- nope.. Oh I know, I'll play some-- ... *****.
- brasso, on 10/11/2007, -1/+90Excellent, most viruses has become so boring these days. It just was time for a change.
- Dradis, on 10/11/2007, -4/+86Damn you and your virus, Jeff Goldblum!
- davdav, on 10/11/2007, -0/+54I misread that the virus talks to you and makes you laugh. I would prefer that.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -3/+56link to virus or its bs
- Darth_tater, on 10/11/2007, -1/+52People still use Kazaa?
- bbardlbradd, on 10/11/2007, -1/+46For anyone who doesn't know, Jeff Goldblum is the guy from Independance day, that used an old Mac to steal the Alien's Wifi, figure out what the aliens were doing w/ our bases, how much time was left before they made it belong to them, Hax0red the Alien's PC's, and set us up the bomb...
He made all of the drivers himself and even cool graphics for the virus, like a human skull and crossed bones that laughed.... that's godlike considering he did it all in about 4 days... not to mention for Alien PC's. - Puppetfunk, on 10/11/2007, -6/+47Wasn't it the fat guy in Jurassic Park that had the talking virus?
- DigitalJester, on 10/11/2007, -10/+46Yeah, but linux is open source, meaning many talented developers can see the flaws and fix them. Not just one or two probably talented developers that would work on a dll in Windows. That + Linux has a damned good OS design means that it'll probably fair up pretty well to viruses and spyware.
- a3r0, on 10/11/2007, -2/+37Digg lets you reply to comments, you know. Look, I'm doing it right now!
- JoshuaH, on 10/11/2007, -1/+35Kazaa still exists?
- Darth_tater, on 10/11/2007, -2/+35Well, the fact that windows is closed source doesn't seem to stop them, or slow them down for that matter.
/windows user
//yes i know windows is very secure when the user isint an idiot and the PC is configured correctly. - iplayyouandme, on 10/11/2007, -0/+31The wow starts now!
- Ajajadude, on 10/11/2007, -21/+52You do realize that if Linux ever became the standard operating system like Microsoft is right now, people who write viruses, malware, etc. would then turn and target computers running Linux, right?
- leszek, on 10/11/2007, -40/+70Another reason to switch to Linux.
- nodonoug, on 10/11/2007, -0/+27His wasn't a virus, it was just what the system did when you entered an incorrect password.
- Shaman760, on 10/11/2007, -0/+25Haha!! This happened to a friend of mine's computer. I was at his house the other day and all of a sudden his machine starts talking to us. I said to him that "I think you're screwed".
- MrEggsalad, on 10/11/2007, -1/+26Hah, now if I ever made a virus, I would so make it talk to the victim. I'd probably also add a phrase like "Did I interrupt your porn time? My bad.."
- inexion, on 10/11/2007, -2/+26someone post up a copy of this somewhere, or a link to an infected torrent
- TehSwat, on 10/11/2007, -1/+24At least its an exciting virus?
- kyle11235, on 10/11/2007, -0/+22I'm looking at you, RIAA!
- drakethegreat, on 10/11/2007, -1/+23I don't see how this is a trojan... It doesn't open up a port to allow in malicious user traffic which is the reason they label things trojans. I hate to say it but I hate the liberal use of these words. Any program that infects your computer is not automatically a virus nor is it automatically a trojan... Definitions people definitions.
- Waskonator, on 10/11/2007, -4/+25This just happened to me the other day. I started freaking out like crazy. Then I looked in my tower and saw a cute little kitten looking back at me. I couldn't help but laugh. :)
- atlex2, on 10/11/2007, -2/+23No man, it was easy, alienware supports linux!
- Aero347, on 10/11/2007, -5/+24Don't make a fix for it, just let the zombie nets destroy themselves for awhile.
- tapo, on 10/11/2007, -0/+19Ah Ah Ah, You didn't say the magic word!
http://youtube.com/watch?v=jGqzVGJ9bGg - BlackAle, on 10/11/2007, -12/+31...and as it's open source, many talented virus / malware writers can find exploits easier.
- coheedcollapse, on 10/11/2007, -2/+20Or just scan every executable you download from anywhere you don't trust with clamwin or something. Either way.
- noobeffect, on 10/11/2007, -0/+17It couldn't have been. The message wouldn't be so polite. It would be more along of the lines of, "lol at u. lrn2anti-virus."
- Renton, on 10/11/2007, -7/+24No, but I do realize that if Windows used UNIX, it wouldn't have nearly as many problems than it does now.
- b0mber, on 10/11/2007, -2/+18you can listen to the trojan here ...
http://www.infoworld.com/article/07/07/05/Talking-Trojan-says-bye-to-data_1.html - mjl5629, on 10/11/2007, -0/+16Correct! For $500.
- LegendarySock, on 10/11/2007, -4/+19Agreed with tapo, and Linux has some games... tux-racer...
- mattmcm, on 10/11/2007, -0/+14Couldn't have said it better myself. Kudos!
- olik, on 10/11/2007, -0/+13From another article on the same subject:
"There is still an element out there of the stereotypical hacker in a dark room trying to show the world just how smart he is. But that’s probably more the exception than the rule nowadays," he said. "Playing with audio is something we’ve been worried about. There are any number of ways that you can embed viruses in MP3 files. Maybe they’ll find a way to exploit YouTube"

If I sat down to think about the dumbest thing I could possibly say about viruses or computers generally I don't think I could top that. - KnightMareInc, on 10/11/2007, -0/+13link, I want to run it in sandboxie
- xerus, on 10/11/2007, -3/+16Yeah I dont think the Indepedence Day virus spoke. It just made the skull and crossbones appear on everything, then it laughed, then a nuke went off or something.
- SomaSynth, on 10/11/2007, -0/+12Not too long ago I downloaded LimeWire to see what all the fuss was about. That is, fuss between house wives and school girls not competent techies. Judging by the number of downloads it's a massive P2P network. I was shocked, I knew it would be a cesspool, but the sight was truly amazing. For every authentic file there's about 1000 that reek of trojan a mile away. Actually I just had to make some sort of relative comparison, there really are no authentic files. Apparently there are millions of people out there that use P2P for nothing but sending trojans and viruses back and forth to each other. If you want to spread your destructive binaries in no time, don't bother with obfuscation and HTTP, just upload it to LW, call it funny_trojan_OMG_LOL_britney_spears.exe, there are countless of people happy to do your dirty work for you. Limewire itself seems to be trojan free so if you want to be shocked and amazed, it's worth it.
- krakelohm, on 10/11/2007, -3/+15sorry to burst your bubble but linux runs on a PC, PC stands for Personal Computer... note the P&C. Happy to help, have a great weekend. :)
- BlackAle, on 10/11/2007, -6/+17Linux != UNIX
- snowpatrol, on 10/11/2007, -0/+11Newman!!
- specialK16, on 10/11/2007, -0/+11"You got mail............ oh and your files are gone too btw..."
- xspinkickx, on 10/11/2007, -0/+11***** wine sucks, I cant run the virus >_____________
- LegendarySock, on 10/11/2007, -4/+15I don't think Linux/Mac can have any viruses unless the user is like mentally ill. The virus would require root privileges to modify any important files... right?
- f4nt0m4s, on 10/11/2007, -0/+11people give viruses a bad rep...you know they have a job to do. it's not like they chose to be a virus, it's a tough life infecting computers for a living. it's a dirty job but someone's gotta do it.
dugg for the hard working viruses with a sense of humor...i want one last smile before all my data is corrupted - bbardlbradd, on 10/11/2007, -3/+13Well maybe that then explains why he was the only IT Professional who could save the world...
- CDoug03, on 10/11/2007, -5/+15*****
