- NateB2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Uhh... No matter what platform you will be running, this disgusting technology will *have* to be in it for the future HD content to play. Apple will have to do it. Linux probably won't be able to play uncracked HD-DVDs at the full resolution, since some of the code will need to be proprietary and secret.
I have been running Vista for months, and absolutely love using it, but this copy protection technology sickens me. As if using this technology will make it impossible to pirate! - schestowitz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Windows XP will still be sold on PC's, so there will be choice. Given the huge number of bugs in Vista (and lack of backward compatibility), Microsoft ha[s|d] no choice.
- theuser113, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It's not just the software to worry about necessarily...it's the hardware. Worry all you want about software DRM and other restrictions...but you'll probably lose sleep once hardware everywhere has embedded (Trustworthy) encrypted DRM and other nifty stuff.
- nhprimary, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Scary stuff. Buy your non-VISTA-capable machines while they're still available!

- malignedtruth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0With http://www.linuxgenuineadvantage.org/ we finally have just acheived for GNU/Linux what multiple convicted pirate, liar, felon Microsoft worked a decade towards!
The Open Source movement is seemingly always behind the curve! Let's endeavor to speed it up, guys!
