*Note: if you are thinking of charging me with some sort of crime for posting this "Personal information", Remember, I didn't post anything but links to a public website hosted by a governmental organization. If you want to get rid of the information, take down the website. I suggest it. Really. I do. - pype, on 10/12/2007, -0/+24Great - I can finally become the senior citizen i've always wanted to be
- neurokaotix, on 10/12/2007, -5/+24Too bad Optimus Prime doesn't live there :(
- Topslakr, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16The Story is good... regardless of the spelling mistake. That is the reason for it being dugg. People make mistakes, let it go.
- neverender, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15requiring social security numbers for tracking or identification is stupid.
posting the officials information who allow this to happen might curb the problem. - supermikedigg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13The people in the non-USA parts of the world must be laughing themselves silly right now.
"Eh, Francisco, checka ze out here. These Ameretards have done it againa. Look at ze juicy information they post on the web. We could liva like kings, you and me, from ze identity theft." - plamoni, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12And if you want to know things about that official, such as their name, address, phone number, social security number, maiden name, number of kids, property modifications, licenses, etc. Just stop by:
http://205.166.161.12/OncoreV2/Search/AdvancedSearch.aspx
:-) - tpimental, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Looks like this issue is larger than just Broward County, "an official there stressed today that all counties in Florida are subject to the same state law."
- colinmhayes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8hey cool, there's my dad's deed for our old house, the loan he got for the house, and the record of when we sold it! what an awesome site!
- Mach5, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10redact is a awesome word.
- dkarlson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7In my head, that comment sounded like FrancoGermItalian...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Do some states still have the name, address, social security number, and drivers license number of registered sex offenders online? If so, somebody post a link. Might as well make this thread a comprehensive government-assisted identity theft resource.
- o0joshua0o, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Wait a second. If this URL falls into the wrong hands it could be used for nefarious villiany!
- ConceptJunkie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Kbennertt: "why the hell would anyone think..."
You're talking about the government. "Think" doesn't enter the equation. - xeroskill, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Wow... all i can say is im glad i don't live there. why would they think that is a good idea.
how could this happen, i bet the conversation went like this
Lets Post Social Security #'s and Drivers license info on the internet.
Great Idea! that makes it easier for us to find the information if we need it
... hurts my head. - edrift101, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Can anyone find her number in the papers? I'd be happy to give her a call and see what she really thinks about displaying personal information online.
- Kbennett, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3That's frightening in a "why the hell would anyone think it's a good idea to make this information available on the internet" kind of way. Most property information is public, but banks accounts, social security info? That's just stupid.
- TeKoverride, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Hell I should just start applying for credit under that ladies name ;)
- Botunda, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Yeah well, I'm still waiting for a freeware search of this crap that intelius link you have to pay for!
- kensho, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3After using the word "redacted", the typo in the title is forgiven.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Yeah, good luck getting a car, driver's license, state ID card or just about anything else without one. You won't even get cable television without your social security number.
- p9s50W5k4GUD2c6, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@plamoni
You are dangerously brilliant!
Sue Baldwin - you ought to sue yourself. Or better yet - get some additional liability insurance for when the citizens of Florida legally come after your thick hide.. - lico05, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Man, that's scary...
- ZapWizard, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This is the result of bad discision making.
My wife actualy was doing some temp work redacting florida records, doing thousands a day along with some others.
There are too many documents on the whole anyways. - Havs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Remember that article awhile back about police station intimidation?
http://www.digg.com/technology/Florida_Police_Retaliate_Against_Journalist
The President of the PBA that posted all the personal information of the journalist covering the story just so happens to be a resident of Broward County.
His name is Richard Brickman.
I wonder how he feels about having his personal information posted for anyone to see. - merreborn, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3"Need a new Identiy? Download one today!"
...On the off chance anyone's stupid enough not to realize it, following the (sarcastic) directions in the headline would be a felony, if you assumed said identity (which is more or less implicit). - lbukys, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Don't forget Suffolk County (NY)
http://www.newsday.com/news/local/longisland/ny-lisoci154627730feb15,0,7781591.story?coll=ny-linews-headlines - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It's /really/ scary that the sites use Windows 2000 with IIS - I can have great fun amending some records!
- SmartITGuy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1When are people going to learn...
Government and Politicians will never give a flying fikk about citizens and their rights to security and privacy. The FBI/CIA/NSA/DHS exists ONLY to protect themselves, the WhiteHouse/President (and his immediate family), and Congress and select senators!
Anything that doesn't directly hurt or affect a politician, will never ever provoke positive change! ...If you want anything to change, you gotta do exactly what "plamoni" did above and post the same sort of info of every politician you can find online.
...Start with that fikking corrupt, drunk, brain-dead, coke-head Jeb Bush!!!
Post the personal and identity records of every politician/senator you can find!
I hope every politician in America becomes a victim of identity theft!
(I can just see it... the government would make it a felony to publicly post the personal information of POLITICIANS ONLY. Anyone else - too bad, so sad!) - AndyMix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Sites like this exits for most counties in the US. It is very easy to find property info, deeds, mortgages, etc...
http://www.netronline.com/public_records.htm - colinmhayes, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2luckily all my dad's papers in there didn't have one to begin with. or an address we've had within 13 years.
- b403, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1If you think you're lucky because you don't live in that county, think again. I'd say it's 90% likely you can be found with this company, that archives/searches all public records in the states. If you can't find yourself and actually function as a normal human being (drivers license, property, cell, etc), I'll be very surprised.
http://find.intelius.com/search-name.php?searchform=name - jBones, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Baldwin called concerns about posting them online 'a tempest in a teapot'... "
Bet her teapot is boiling over now! I wonder how many state legislator's records expose their identity so easily? - ACitizen, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2WOW! -
This article came in real handy!!
Thanks,
John Dough - Soccrmastr, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1You can find all this info with a couple of places already, but you have to pay. Like www.accruint.com (down right now for some reason)
- Darth_tater, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1i loked up some names, and most of the ones i found had balck boxes on there SS numbers
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0If you live in Palm Beach County you must go to http://www.pbcountyclerk.com/oris/records_home.html and remove any documents that have private information.
I was surprised at how much info they consider public.
http://www.debtconsolidationpodcast.com - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1As soon as you do that, start inserting dildos into your anus for preparation of the anal sex you will receive in "pound me in the ass" prison when you get caught. . .
- NoSalt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0RE ... TARDS!!!
Here the government is spending all kinds of money to combat identity theft, and the morons in Florida are handing out your identity like candy. - kritic, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I live in Broward County:(
- geuisteses, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Ack. I live in Broward. No info on me though. whew
- gilkey, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0It is funny, I am actually installing recation software for my company for a county clerk. I saw this link on Digg while I was waiting for server reboots.
Check out this Link. http://www.csisoft.com/images/Ad_Kofax_Marion_021306.pdf I helped Marion County become the first Clerk to be completely redacted! - ACitizen, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Hey Josh...
One word of advice.
If you're gonna' steal an identity, steal one that won't get you shot for being near a school yard! ;) - DiggerTheDog, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0To: everyone who are sharing personal url's
Re: You're phucking jackasses - Serendipity, on 10/12/2007, -7/+3lol
- finkployd, on 10/12/2007, -10/+5Do we want information to be free?
Yes!
Do we want our privacy?
Well yeah I want my damn privacy! But I also want access to every one else's information! - everfalling, on 10/12/2007, -14/+1ignore this. wrong thread
- cyberpope, on 10/12/2007, -22/+8What's an Identiy?
- awilke, on 10/12/2007, -19/+5why is this being dug? He should learn to use the "check spelling" button, it's not very hard.
