- sum1randum, on 10/11/2007, -1/+58Welcome to Digg, nice to see you're new here
- ArchieAndrews, on 10/11/2007, -5/+53That is the solution? Do you work for Comcast or something? You know what else will fix it? Proper coding of the page.
- Undiculous, on 10/11/2007, -7/+48@neiltc13
"Too bad they can't spell neighbours."
I knouw! What a bunch of complete mourons. Colour me enraged. - trghpy, on 10/11/2007, -2/+40*****.org has the IP address: 20*.10*.24*.3*
0 found with the IP 20*.10*.24*.3*
Heh, all my domains are on one box, not one domain came back. - ArchieAndrews, on 10/11/2007, -2/+26Why does every subsequent request open in a new, further embedded iframe into some recursive version of opposing mirrors? What a mess.
- finkployd, on 10/11/2007, -0/+19I'm sure if the digg search worked you would be able to find it.
- Nougat, on 10/11/2007, -2/+21Hey! myipneighbors.com is neighbors with a "The server at www.myipneighbors.com is taking too long to respond" page!
- sheepster, on 10/11/2007, -2/+20all of my sites have the same ip address...but no matter which one i type in, it continues to say there are none. :/
- charityjustice, on 10/11/2007, -2/+18Page is screwed, I get this handy error message: "Oops :) Something wen't wrong. Try again"
Wen't?
WEN'T?
Thats the single most retarded thing I've ever saw. - duhblow7, on 10/11/2007, -3/+19From a technical perspective, there's no way to query the web server and determine what vhosts are being hosted. This website (and others) must rely on DNS requests. Everytime you search, i'm pretty sure they are adding your host and IP address to a database for future look ups. As this site gains in popularity, the database will be more complete. As far as private vhosts on a private box, unless the sites are getting exposure, it's unlikely that myipneighbors.com will have it in their database.
That's probably why the similar and paid for service at whois.sc is so much better. whois.sc gives a whois lookup that has more information than most (see network solutions or godaddy), so they received a lot of traffic and whois requests on domains, and the owners of the .sc TLD have been collecting this data for some time. - shout, on 10/11/2007, -0/+15wtf is digg.bokefu.com ?????????
- CDefense7, on 10/11/2007, -1/+11google.com brings up eudora.google.com and sprint.google.com as neighbors. interesting.
- shifty2, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8hmmm... mine is shared with 27 other sites... half of which are ebay/make-moneyz-at-home spam pages/sites.
- himey, on 10/11/2007, -2/+10I have the same results as trghpy. None of the domains on my home box show up with the one that I looked up.
- fac3less, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8That's not a good sign if they start to spamvertise their pages.. could result in all sorts of things like:
1. Search engine blacklists
2. E-mail blacklisting (although utilizing a 'shared ip' to send mail is fairly rare) - dpierce, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7my site is proud to be hosted on the same server as http://www.babycage.net ("Infant Confinement Specialists since 2001")
I kid you not. - polyGone, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8...I've ever seen.
- Gigabyte, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8Look at www.google.com :)
baidu-inc.com
clan45thid.net
boogybox.com
go.ogle.org
All goto Google English
They also have: cheatnova.org which is a Torrent Site... Bad Google. - donnyburnside, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7Bu 'us all' I hope you mean you... And by 'giggle' I hope you mean stabbed your eyes out.
- ArchieAndrews, on 10/11/2007, -5/+10No one asked you to fix anything... It was your asinine "solution" that made us all giggle.
- rages4calm, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6Site is lame, doesn't work, i have several domains on my ip block it came back with 0
- RadiatedAnt, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5diggs outsourcing to china! omgwtfbbqbokefu!
- catalysis, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4I have 383 sharing on godaddy.com paid hosting, 0 on godaddy's free service with ads. Intersting..
- fac3less, on 10/11/2007, -5/+9Fairly useless.
Better sites to use:
http://www.ipwalk.com
http://www.webhosting.info
And if you're after web hosting reviews the best place is definitely http://www.hostjury.com - wounded625, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3http://www.digg.com/software/Talk_to_your_internet_neighbors
type in the term in google with site:digg.com like: talk to ip neighbor site:digg.com
its WAAY better than digg search - jak119, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3mine brought me to my router login in page, what's up with that?
- fef560, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4peanuts
- scottc, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3"2. E-mail blacklisting (although utilizing a 'shared ip' to send mail is fairly rare)"
No, it's not rare. It's standard industry practice. That's why hosting providers have to be diligent about catching spammers. If they don't then innocent bystanders get caught by the spam blacklists. - Alex.w, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3You can do this with Live.com's search, just stick in "ip:<IP Addr>"
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Firefox kann keine Verbindung zu dem Server unter www.myipneighbors.com aufbauen.
- penneyisok, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2well I got 976 people on same as my site hosted on godaddy(paid). Not cool, yet I haven't notice any slow downs
- SublimeRuin, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Does anyone remember that Digg thing that was submitted that let you chat with your ip neighbors?
- mbthompson, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Site's fried
- amnesiac096, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2215 for the site I am currently designing, wow
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3didnt know about this www.diggriver.com
- jigsawhc, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3503 on the same as mine. Dang! GoDaddy puts a lot of us paying customers together, but I don't notice any slowness in loading my site so I can't really complain.
- fac3less, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Avoid utilizing the top10 sites that don't allow you to submit reviews.
A few decent ones for you:
http://www.webhostingjury.com
http://www.webhostingstuff.com -- although watch out for their top list -- it's all 'paid' for.
And then there's another site http://www.hostjury.com that allows reviews to be posted. Fairly decent/I push it a lot ;) - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2cafeubuntu shares with a google server. odd.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2@duhblow7
They are not saving/adding domains entered into the search. It will not get more accurate. - twodayslate, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2My domain shares an IP with a porn site!
- abaybas, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2xkcd.com is mirrored at http://cu.nniling.us/
hah. - rglover, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2And to complete my ***** day, I found out my blog shares an IP with the "CaPe COd wHiTe tRaSh CarS
GaLlErY !". Come the ***** on. - lowkei, on 04/15/2009, -0/+1Hosting environment is indeed important as it will affect the search engine search ranking of our site. If your site is hosted together with Porn site or banned site, it will definitely cause negative impact on your ranking! Therefore reputable host provider is important. As far as I know, FatCow - http://www.webhostingdeals.org/fatcow-review , and Hostgtaor - http://www.webhostingdeals.org/hostgator-review are doing a very good job.
- arjung, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1google.com brings back some very interesting results. obviously google has many dedicated IPs for its servers and yet it brings back a bunch of spammy pages.
- RoyHobbs, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1myipneighbors.com says there is 0 on my ip address and the www.webhosting.info says it has 3,915!! This ipneighbor is not very good right now imo
also it looks like godaddy puts domains together by alphabetical order - soadlink, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Hmm
- LotusGrrl, on 04/17/2009, -0/+1Nice site. I am glad to be using Dreamhost, not many active sites on the server!
- Anderue, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1may want to change web host then
IPs can be blacklisted which isn't good for you - mirunit, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1digg.bokefu.com
http://bokefu.com/ I think is a Chinese investment firm. - ADent, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I can't tell if that works any better - DNSDigger only shows up to 100 entries. My IP Neigbors showed 280, but still was missing some sites.
