- crosenblum, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Pardon me, but are you aware that islam and christianity are the religious children of judiasm?
So of couse jeruselum is the holy center for all places...
But since the attacks never stop coming, Israel wouldn't bother sharing that holy spot.
I mean if you were constantly being attacked, would you bend over backwards for these jerks?
It's not like Israel is looking for more land to get into, but they just want to be left alone...Is that so much to ask for? - ViperDaimao, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Israel attacks and kills a terrorist leader. Palestinians retailiate by blowing themselves up on buses and in cafes aiming to kill as many women and children as possible. and you say Israel doesnt have the high ground?
- Jaymoon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Israel has no intentions to use nukes on arab nations "just for the fun of it". It's purely defensive tactics.
You can't say the same about arab nations, because everyone knows what they will do with nukes. And no you can't say Israel would do the same, because last time I checked, 100% of the time Israel has had nukes, they have not used them at all other than for research purposes. - jer2eydevil88, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@Osipr
In regards to your last statement.
As an unofficial spokesperson for whogivesacrap.com I'd like to say:
Shalom! - ViperDaimao, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Are you saying the jews never lived in israel prior to the arabs?
You know what though, the arabs also have historical land claims to Spain, maybe we should give that pack to them. And Mexico has prior historical land claims to California and the southwest United States. Of course the Aztecs and other Indian tribes have pior historical land claims to that land, and Mexico as well, maybe we should give it all back to them. - KilleRabbit, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Direct link: http://www.aviransplace.com/index.php/archives/2006/05/03/israeli-hackers-hacked-iranian-government-sites/
- theblackgecko, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2At least something intelligent (if controversial) was posted in the hacking. Most hackers would have done something stupid like "All Your Nukes Are Belong To Us."
- tddroy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Hacking is a form of terrorism. Do you mean Israelis are terrorists?
- torasama, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Islam has only been in existence since the 6th century of the common era, so how can the holy sites have been theirs for thousands of years? Israel has been the home land of the tribes of Israel for at least 6 thousand years. The have been Jewish people living The Holy Land during the Greek, Roman, Byzantine, Mameluke and Turkish occupation. The modern state of Israel was set up by the British as a result of Turkey being on the losing side of WW I. Independence was won from Britain in 1948.
- Osjpr, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1All I said were that the claims aren't equal and favor arabs greatly due to their presence there over the last x thousand years, which is true. And don't put words into my mouth: The best solution would be for both sides to share the land harmoniously, but extremists on -both- sides don't want that.
- Osjpr, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Arabs have a huge claim to that land. It doesn't just have religious significance like for the jewish people, it has the significance of thousands of years of proud arabian -or persian- history and traditions. Their fathers and grandfathers and forefathers lived in that land. To the jewish people, this land has only symbolic and religious significance.
The arab countries aren't making things any better by invading Israel last century nor by saying it should be wiped off the map. The best solution would be for both sides to share it equally and respect each other, but neither side wants that, due to the religious extremism on both sides. - Osjpr, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1Of course it's for "defensive" purposes..... It's also "defensively" demolishing civilian areas in Palestine and shooting civilians. It is also "defensively" allowing it's settlers to build on someone else's property.
Israel is all snug in it's little sweet spot smack bam in the middle of the Arab nations. Why would it want to expand? It has all it wants. What does it have? Pretty decent coastal real estate. No oil :) but a home nonetheless, with holy sites.
We all know if Zionists got in power in Israel -and it's not without plausibility- that they would make similar statements as Iran's current leader. That Israel already has nukes makes this scenario pretty nasty. Therefore, Iran has every right to develop nuclear technology to defend itself from a possibly zionist Israel.
It's really a shame that Israel has lost the moral high ground, with it's military murdering occasional foreign Western journalists. I haven't heard of Western journalists being murdered by Iranians recently. Oh yeah, Israeli secret service also murdering those who were on the Rainbow Warrior in New Zealand. The Israelis who were caught before September eleven filming it. Need I go on? I think I will cover one more area.
Looking at other figures, we can see that Israel is responsible for more civilian deaths than Palestinian suicide bombers. That Israel is a democratic nation is disturbing and makes them extremely untrustworthy and an unsavory "civilised" nation. - Osjpr, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1Ya, because Israel HAS KILLED MORE PALESTINIAN CIVILIANS THAN PALESTINE HAS ISRAELI CIVILIANS. Allcaps in case you can't read, which goes for those that buried my correct comment too.
- Osjpr, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1Those Israeli hackers are dumb.
"Israel in RED , is a democratic nation" A democratic nation that has nukes it shouldn't have and shells civilian areas in Palestine.
"How dare Arab propagandists call Israel expansionist!" Easily. Israeli settlers are on illegal territory making settlements.
"How can Israel, which occupies one-sixth of one percent of the lands called Arab, be responsible for the political dissatisfaction of 22 Arab countries?"
Because Arab land was given to the jewish people by non-Arabs. Pretty good to begin with it being shared land and with a moderate, sane government. Under a zionist leaning Israeli government with a sense of self-entitlement, not so good for Arabs. And most importantly, the land contains Arab holy sites and has been theirs for thousands of years! duh
