How To Backup Gmail

mail.google.com — After reading the recent article "Gmail Disaster" I relized that I use my gmail acount as a massive database of my life. I decided to back it up, just like my computer. To do this, simpily setup any POP email client to download all messages, You can change the download all or only new mail setting under POP Settings in Gmail.

    That is no good.

    I need to backup my email AND leave the messages on Gmail.

    Of course you can restore your account from this, just forward all the emails to your account.
  • frej, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Do you have any chance to restore your account from this backup? Do not think so. Well your data is backed up but you can only access it locally. Does anyone know if people who suffered from the "Gmail Disaster" got their accounts restored?
