Eric Wilson - aerofoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I hate to ruin the conspiracy de jour, but *ALL* United States executive branch departments are required to have a "For Kids" section on their websites:
http://www.ala.org/ala/acrlbucket/digitalresources/25-wilke_keith.pdf
"The most significant document addressing Internet-related government resources
for the younger user came at the federal level with President William J. Clinton’s Federal and State Government Web Sites Memorandum on Expanding Access to Internet-based Educational Resources for Children, Teachers, and Parents, which directed the heads of executive departments and agencies to “determine what resources you can make available that would enrich the Internet as a tool for teaching and learning, and produce and make available a new or
expanded version of your service” (National Archives and Records Administration
1998, 460)." - diggerphelps, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"If mommy and daddy are talking to al-Qaeda [or smoking funny-smelling cigarettes], we wanna know about it."

this guys a fu***ing whack job! - sharedferret, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Damn government using furry characters to promote evil practices. Grrr...
- TKDWILSON, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3What do you think the NSA is? The NSA is needed and it does spy to some extent. Get used to it. The NSA. to my knowledge, mostly does it legally though. Kids like Codes and stuff. Decoder rings and stuff that makes them feel like they are spys. PETA's kids website, that now is something that should make it on digg. Wow.

I know you find this hard to comprehend, but people join the military because they want to. Not because of brainwashing, but because of patriotism, money, college benefits, travel, etc. It's a various mix of selfish and altruistic reasons.
Personally it's the best thing I ever did for myself. It got me off the farm, gave me some exposure to other cultures, countries, and ways of thinking, and eventually it got me a BSEE.
In return I placed myself at the disposal of my country. I joined knowing full well that if there was a war, I'd be in it and that there was a good chance I'd die. In fact I chose one of the more dangerous assignments where they only accepted volunteers and I could quit any time I felt like it. I didn't quit.
Just because YOU would have to be "brainwashed" in order to serve our country doesn't mean that those of us who did it are equally weak. - rjsmith2007, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"1984" anyone? I am not digging this spying business, but I will give this a DIG. ;)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wow. You need a dictionary. And an education.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I would rather se YOU banned. ALex Jones and Prison Planet are both full of *****. Art Bell kooks.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'd rather (and have) block YOU. You're the spammer here.
- sork, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Will:
Say I'm working at N.S.A. Somebody
puts a code on my desk, something nobody
else can break. So I take a shot at
it and maybe I break it. And I'm real
happy with myself, 'cause I did my job
well. But maybe that code was the
location of some rebel army in North
Africa or the Middle East. Once they
have that location, they bomb the
village where the rebels were hiding
and fifteen hundred people I never had
a problem with get killed. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1There's a difference between conspiracy theories and Conspiracy, 9/11 is a conspiracy, and if you don't know this, you must be living under a Rock, Wake up and view the Evidence for yourself.
- ediblehat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Kind of like smokey the bear"
or Joe Camel. - Muddle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1My guess is few of you have seen the movie “Good Will Hunting”, in which young Mr. Hunting, a math genius, detailed in an interview why he'd never work for the NSA.
- void, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Anyone remember the old spytech toys?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0At least I'm not the only one here that knows the truth, BakedDon knows whats happening.
- p1nhead, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Obviously, we need patriotic spies to catch thought criminals.
- minisu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Old. Also, some people here should learn basic cryptography before whining about this.
- gsg927, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Ain't great that you live in a country where you can do that if you choose? Think about why that's possible."
One reason it's possible is because our military and intelligence community have protected us from threats that would take away that freedom. I'm not saying that everything our government does is right; there are mistakes, stupidity, bad motives, and corruption in our government, like everywhere else. However, there are a lot of people in our government trying to do their jobs to provide a just, safe society. I would say they do a better job at it than in most other places. I work with people from all over the world, and there are a lot of places where bribary and corruption are common at all levels.
All that being said, although electronic surveilance is a necessary tool for law enforcement and national security, care must be taken that it is not abused. The power of this tool is seductive, and there will be cases where people cross the line. I welcome the current scrutiny into recent activities of the NSA, but even if they have done wrong, it doesn't make the whole organization evil. They serve an important role, and we just have to make sure they stay within the law, and that the laws provide adequate protection of human rights. - HarryBauzonia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That's "banned".
Kids, don't drink and post. - delhokie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0My 5 year old and 3 year old loves this kind of thing, so this kind of site is just for them. Any brainwashing is up to me as a parent to do :)
@ HarryBauzonia- (and all other vets and active duty people out there) thank you for your selfless sacrifice to serve this country! - Foofy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Christ! What is wrong with people! There is nothing wrong with this site. It's just a cute little page about codes and encryption for kids. Kids like that sort of stuff. I know I did. There was a huge section in the children's encyclopedia about making up your own secret codes. There's nothing on this site along the lines of "spy on your neighbors and hack their computers and expose them as TERRORISTS." Propoganda my ass.
- GhostFreeman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0av1d just won the prize for pointing out the most successful trend in lulling our children to war!!!
- av1d, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0You bitch about this but you forgot about the hundreds of war-pig army propaganda games that come out every year. Brilliant
- Urusai, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2The NSA isn't so bad. It's the people with their fingers on the trigger you should worry about. I mean, the Attorney General is busy writing briefs as to how wiretaps are legal, torture is legal, and I suppose he'll also explain how Bush's third term (after a declaration of martial law) is legal, too.
- Rossye, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"At least I'm not the only one here that knows the truth, BakedDon knows whats happening."
Baked got banned fro misuse and all comments were erased. - pupa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0How is it "bad" to teach kids about cryptography and security? It seems like a pretty good thing to me.
- aThing, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'm sure every four-year-old wants to read government propaganda websites for fun. It must be all they think about.
- Kingmichael, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1http://www.nsa.gov/kids/
It's been around for awhile. - rotinknee2, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1what kind of flag are we flying??????i say we take it down and throw up a pirate's bay flag
- missindependent, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i also believe in 11/9 conspiracy. bush could have catched laden long time ago if he wanted. it probably suits him Laden is free & pops up on tape so he can keep people scared. that way bush can justify war & get oil.
- Rosco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Hey, if the job pays well, why not? Wouldn't bother me if my kids decided to persue that type of career. If it has decent pay and good bennies, I say go for it. Gotta be better than some other careers these days.
- gumby013, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I forgot all about the Smokey the Bear conspiracy...?
- whaught, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Clearly the movie "Spykids" was actually propaganda
- karit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+01984
- nuxx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0hey kids, don't forget to duck and cover!!!
- SniperX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I don't even know why i waste my time in the digg comment sections anylonger.
cry more plz.
And yes, there is nothing new or noteworthy here, move along. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0How come most comment sections I've been reading on digg are really battles between users, for instance this page alone has 3 different ones, HarryBauzonia VS Kram, cl0k_wErk VS fsjonsey And Me VS wackyt and nights0223
- DigeratiPrime, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0hey alex jones is here :)
- felchdonkey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I think I'll just block/report both AlexJones and wackyt, then I won't have to listen to any more of this childing whinging.
- socrates114, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Dont you know 2012 is when the aliens come the govt. doesnt have time to hide all this crap and turn it into a police state plus the way the admistration is incompent theres no way it could pull a conspracy so grand besides they try to pull that police state and abolishing the constituiton its civil war time plus this guy tipped me off bout the future but i cant reveal his name since his safety isnt guranteed
http://pushesittothelimit.ytmnd.com/ - fsjonsey, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Seriously there needs to be a political counterpart to digg, so that we can banish all of this crap to it.
- cl0ck_werk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0socrates114
i went back in time with him, i brought my own weapon and my safety wasn't guaranteed.
it was pretty sweet. while i was with him a certain person stole my bick while telling me i was the man now. - HebrewHammer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0oh crist..

No flaming everyone!
Love thy neighbors! - stonebear, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I don’t think much of domestic spying, but they do have some nicely done anthros there. Of course, not to be outdone, DHS has the ready kids:
http://www.ready.gov/kids/home.html
Better enjoy the furry government while you can, as it’s only a matter of time before the right wing nut jobs get a wiff of yiff and tell their goons to shut those characters down. - lnxaddct, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1As opposed to the hundreds of video games that make spying and killing cool?
- cl0ck_werk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0fsjonsey
m'kay
and jordan i have read 1984, we are definitely getting closer and closer to it. as to what alexjones is talk 'bout, check out loose change. it's an interesting take on what happened on 9/11. - HarryBauzonia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Alex Jones has been baned too.
