Get some up to date news for once. - neonix, on 12/30/2007, -14/+68lol, religion
- Matt2k, on 12/30/2007, -2/+47One time I hacked into a dialup renegade BBS system and changed all the default ANSI colors and system messages and then ***** up the door games. Then told someone else about the back door. They mouthed off about how they could hack Renegade sites and everyone blamed them instead of me. This is my confession.
- UtahPirate, on 12/30/2007, -8/+41Silly, silly, silly... *changes password*
- theonlywizdum, on 12/30/2007, -1/+33is it just me, or does the hacker(s) just sound like a 14 year old on a power trip?
- hayzeus, on 12/30/2007, -6/+36Sikhs.
Interesting Sikh fact: like Mormons, Sikhs also have sacred underwear.
You're welcome. - misterjangles, on 12/30/2007, -1/+26Is there no honor among thieves anymore..?
- Ostizzle, on 12/30/2007, -8/+29NERD FIGHT!
- inactive, on 12/30/2007, -0/+16Yeah...please DON'T go into why people priate. Because clearly what you are going to say is *****. People pirate because it is free, and relatiely risk free. Don't embarrass yourself by trying to suggest there is some great "fight the man"motive behind it.
- scabbers, on 12/30/2007, -4/+20Serves him right for using the same password for everything.
- RAEP, on 12/30/2007, -7/+22Probably Scientology.
- thenativeraver, on 12/30/2007, -4/+19I wonder what religious group they're referring too?
- inactive, on 12/30/2007, -2/+16so they used some scripts, got access to his gmail and searched "password".
wow, hack of the century 0.o, but from the language they used it sounds more like those ***** 4channers than anyone else - Makaveli604, on 12/30/2007, -3/+17no, he got owned
- XxUNDEROATHxX, on 12/30/2007, -0/+11takashi is the man.
- djm101, on 12/30/2007, -0/+10According to the article, the money went to http://www.waheguroo.com - A Sikh Online Portal
However if you read the comments, Ersan posts and says Paypal reversed the transaction within 2 days, so no funds were lost. - iXneonXi, on 12/30/2007, -0/+9Uh, looking at the site and IRC now there doesn't seem to be a problem anymore. The members don't seem affected, and the admin seems to have almost everything under control... What they failed to mention in their rather late article is that the hackers are soul-less nerds who didn't take into account that all the donations today are going to charity.
- AMSRay, on 12/30/2007, -3/+11RTFA, there's a link to the group's site.
- Matt2k, on 12/30/2007, -0/+8As someone who was loosely associated with "the scene" in a past life, the reasons you mention boil down to ego and a feeling of usefulness to your community. There isn't any much else behind it.
- deeceefar2, on 12/30/2007, -0/+7In comparison to what? You provide no comparison; I agree supertorrents is ***** in comparrison to a hard drive on my local network that contains every movie ever made available for free legally. Without qualification you leave your statement open to interpretation. There are definitely things that could be improved, but one thing that is awesome is the seed speed; which is partially paid for by donations. People with fast down stream bandwidth are able to saturate their bandwidth and get download very fast thus improving the number of seeds; this mainly applies to new content. Far better then most other private torrent sites I have tried like elitetorrents, R.I.P., with respect to download speed. The area I think they could use improvement on is amount of content, but you really can't match public torrents and increasing the content available would likely decrease the seed speed.
- rebelrogue995, on 12/30/2007, -1/+6This is all the rage in supertorrents IRC channel right now.
PSST - YOU SHOULD JOIN, SO WE GET FREELEECH - FriedTurkey, on 12/30/2007, -2/+6Your rationalization started to bore me so I stopped reading. People don't care about "the scene" or some crap that tries to glorify people pirating stuff. People pirate because it is free. There are no higher politics in it. Stop being a pretentious douche bag.
Yeah I steal stuff. I don't care about where it comes from. Those digg stores talking about seeders - who gives a crap? It is not like you are an elite hacker because you ripped a DVD. If you feel you are special because you are part of community that does nothing but put out other people's content for free that is really sad.
But seriously thanks for wasting your life so I can get stuff for free. - quomen, on 12/30/2007, -4/+8Da Pastafarians mahn!
- xXShadowstormXx, on 12/30/2007, -2/+5Old news.
- fezzen, on 01/02/2008, -0/+3Stop referring to these idiots as "hackers." Nothing was "hacked." A single password was obtained from an insecure IRC robot, rainbow hashed (again, not hacking but CRACKING since they used LEET TOOLZ LOLZ), and since the idiot Admin used the same password for everything, it was kids in a candy store.
Everything about what they did and wrote convinces me they are no older than 16 and couldn't "hack" to save their ***** lives. Don't give them the attention they crave so much.
{Not really a response to YOU, UtahPirate, but it's important this is said close to the top of this article since I know these damn script kiddies don't read very much.} - brazenisgod, on 12/30/2007, -0/+3Takashi FTW!
- habenneas, on 12/30/2007, -2/+5hey ho ho- a pirate's life for me!
- xNIBx, on 12/30/2007, -2/+5It was a pay to leech site which profited from scene releases. Some sceners hacked them. Justice at its best. Death to all pay to leech sites. It wasnt donations. A donation means that you dont benefit from it. On pay to leech sites, a "donation" buys you unlimited downloading privileges, with no ratio limitations or upload credit. Either way, it is selling of warez and has little to do with the spirit of p2p.
- pukiman, on 12/30/2007, -3/+6"hey ho ho"? What are you, the eight dwarf from the sleeping beauty?
- actorboy, on 12/30/2007, -4/+7Yeah, because religious groups never fed anyone or provided shelters for those in need. Get that stick out of your ass.
- morgrar, on 12/30/2007, -1/+3I miss BBSs. It was a far simpler and more underground time.
- edgedmurasame, on 12/30/2007, -1/+3buried for inaccuracy.
- anarpi, on 12/30/2007, -0/+1well at least money went to "good hands" hahaha
- Morgoth666, on 12/30/2007, -0/+1you're so right makaveli, i was really excited when i got into st cause i love stmusic, but now i'm a member since only one week, and i'm pretty disappointed. the high seed speed is very useless, if you don't find much worth downloading. i think i'll stick to bitsoup, it's even faster than st and there you can get really everything.
- iXneonXi, on 12/30/2007, -0/+11. Wait until open registration day 2. Donate
- mickhead, on 12/30/2007, -2/+3Well that was thoroughly pointless. They must be proud.
- cliffski, on 01/02/2008, -0/+1they are thieves. tough ***** what happens to them.
- chrispr, on 12/30/2007, -1/+2tl;dr
- cliffski, on 01/02/2008, -0/+1the sirit of leeching and theft you mean?
- greggh, on 12/30/2007, -2/+3but thats all lies. read part 2, its better.

- sparrowkc, on 12/30/2007, -1/+1If you'd shout me an invite and tell me what to do so you get credit, that would be great...
- MrPig, on 12/30/2007, -1/+1Welcome to my life.
Wow I'm a douche.I think I'm going to go find my mommy now. :( - MrViklund, on 12/31/2007, -1/+1ROFL... :)
I guess it was just some hackers who wanted to trash something but it could he been payed by the RIAA. Pretty funny that they donated their money to a religious group haha :) - dark_ryan, on 12/30/2007, -1/+1Maybe they are donating it to the United Atheist Alliance (Southpark).
- imacyco, on 12/30/2007, -1/+1I'm curious what comments were posted about Sikhs in the ST forums.
- weebit, on 12/31/2007, -1/+1can we suspect that the hackers worked for the RIAA or MPAA or both? Thus the trashing. The BitTorrent's do a good service for the online community's , and it's hard to believe a hacker of all people trashed it.
- sparrowkc, on 12/30/2007, -2/+1double post
- greggh, on 12/30/2007, -2/+1wrong. no need to argue it. you are completely wrong.
