And when the education plan doesn't have a quick enough impact (i.e. immediate) they will try and turn to censorship just like with everything else in this country.
Look at the DARE program, that did nothing but show me how to use drugs, where to get them, how to cover up the use, etc. What a joke. The reason I didn't do them was because of my parents. I don't see teen drug use declining, but I do see the war on drugs heating up. We can't count on out people to learn so we regulate, shoot at, and arrest until it goes away. good plan.

Now we have a drug, terrorism, and cybersecurity czars among others. Waging war on god knows what with expanded powers. War is always the health of the state, meaning it uses a cause to expand itself beyond it's constitutional given powers and into your lives whether you know it or not.

Teach them not to be dumb, monitor their internet access, and block the things that are high risk (chatrooms, etc).
I really don't care about my kid getting on the net and searching for porn. I was a kid also, and I know that he's going to go looking for it. What I do care about is crazy people coercing my kid to meet up or whatever.
But, what can the govt do? Make it a law for ISP's to filter crap? That's ridiculous. Make a law against picking up kids on the net? Oh wait, you already can't do that and people still do it.
