- Switch22, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17The desktop search always seemed to me like Google's friendly spyware.
- estvir, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7> Leave it to MSN to report Google's flaws.
.. and every other major site.

Or search for 'google desktop flaw.'
Seriously, getting a bit desperate, eh ? - hsaito, on 10/12/2007, -6/+12> As an aside, do we really still need Google Desktop, now that computer searching as been improved with Vista? Just wondering if it still offers more advantages.
Then here's a question... do we really need Vista?
I can't think of any good reason to upgrade. - drowningfish, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6More sources other than MSN took the time to post information about this XSS flaw and it's timely fix. Millions of people use this software and therefore it requires mainstream attention on mainstream sites. It has nothing to do with innate bias'.
- ricky1146, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6But i like google desktop, i must admit i am a google bitch. I use everything they have, A true Google lifestyle. Though i know you can say this is a foolish move. I use everything google, so hence they know everything about me for the past 2-3 years now lool.

- sikosmurf, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Google Skynet anyone?
- sephiroth965, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6As if google doesn't have enough of your info as it is they've also convinced you to willingly install spyware lol.
- Giever, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2*Takes it full circle* Well, the improved computer searching in Vista seems like a plus to me.
- Ghozt64, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Good writeup by RSnake: http://ha.ckers.org/blog/20070221/google-plugs-xss-hole-in-google-desktop/
- ronaldst, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Didn't you get the memo? MS is evil apparently.
- strictnein, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Itsa? I love spaces and apostrophes.
- dougm68, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4I took all that google crap off my computer.
I just don't use it.
Eventhough its not suppose to slow down your computer, google desktop 'feels' like it does when its on. yuk.
Love google.com though. Itsa decent search engine. - har0ld, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Google Desktop was the very first service/tool from them where I was disappointed.
May I suggest you to try the one from MS called, Windows Desktop Search (embedded in msn toolbar). Really useful, efficient and stable. - sikosmurf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Scratch pad, Calendar, and gdShredder are the only things I use. But I'd say it's worth it for those.
- Cheddarhead, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I use copernic... 1,000 times better than googles crap desktop search
- Suchmann, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1"...the vulnerability exists in roughly 80 percent of Web applications..."
I don't think we can single out Google here. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3You must have manure for brains if you use Google spyware.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2Google desktop, should actually be just that - DESKTOP version of google, not a way to search your emails (again)
ie. http://phillmidwinter.wordpress.com/2007/02/20/surrch-pre-release-available/ - covert215, on 10/12/2007, -14/+6Leave it to MSN to report Google's flaws.
