It makes the hackers stop trying to hack you if you put a restraining order on good-intentioned people who are trying to help you uncover and solve your security holes.
All I can say is good thing this story didn't make the news. Now, nobody knows that you can hack our system - thegamingguy, on 08/21/2008, -0/+3There is a very fine line between hacker and threat. I think they made it clear what their intentions were and essentially got a bad deal getting wrapped up in the legal battle. It is hackers like this that help point out what the "bad" hackers would exploit for their own gain. One blog referred to them as heroes, we will never know.
