  • saqib, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1A $0-$200 Full Disk Encryption (Definition: http://www.full-disk-encryption.net ) suite would have prevented the exposure. When will institution learn to use encryption to protect the privacy of their customer/employees?

    The encryption products can be divided into following categories:
    1) File/Folder encryption (e.g. EFS)
    2) Encrypted File Vaults (e.g. TrueCrypt)
    3) Policy based encryption (e.g. Credant, or Pointsec PME)
    4) Full Disk Encryption (e.g. Pointsec or Utimaco FDE)

    Most people don't need FDE, but if you have personal records for 1000s of employees, you better have some FDE suite installed.
