- fallskyfell, on 03/29/2009, -5/+254Oh canada, what secret truths won't you uncover?
- johnlancia, on 03/29/2009, -34/+231Not really. Canada has always been a more advanced and civilized country than the U.S. The U.S. just has lots of money, so they buy anything they need to make themselves look better. Like armies and talent, the latter of which is quite often Canadian. Canada has good healthcare, education, a high standard of living, and a working social safety net that keeps most of its citizens off the streets. One would normally have to go to northern Europe or Japan to find that kind of civilized behaviour.
It was also the only country to invade the U.S. and burn the Whitehouse down. - pagit, on 03/29/2009, -7/+159"The Chinese government is opposed to and strictly forbids any cybercrime." Wenqi Gao
it's not cybercrime if it is the interest of "national security"
/s - winterorange, on 03/29/2009, -3/+122In other news, Canadian researchers discover that 9 in 10 Canadians find the act of trolling Americans highly enjoyable and even somewhat hilarious on occasion.
- sKiLLa182, on 03/29/2009, -20/+101Actually, that was more Britain, than Canada. I think the war you're referring to was the war of 1812... Canada wasn't really independent until 1867. We didn't even have our own Constitution until 1982.
You seem to highlight the good parts of Canada, but don't mention any of the bad ones, like how we're one of the most taxed countries in the world. - AKA_Postal, on 03/29/2009, -3/+68pffff...They been doin this on 24 for seven seasons.
- thebillgonadz, on 03/29/2009, -2/+64Most of it has to do with our exceptional hockey players and the secret ingredient in maple syrup.
(hint: both require the tears of children...) - 42Vindictive, on 03/29/2009, -3/+61Protip: The "British" you are referring to didn't get up and leave to make room for mystical Canadians. They WERE the Canadians.
- tgc1, on 03/29/2009, -3/+52I think you might need to cut down on the fibre intake.
- alantmac, on 03/29/2009, -0/+48apparently the Tim Horton's Quick Pay Tim Card system had been breached.
- c8h8r8i8s8, on 03/29/2009, -2/+47In Canada, milk comes in bags
- borez, on 03/29/2009, -6/+50Bok Choy bots... on the noodlenets.
/don't ask me what it means, because I don't have a ***** clue. - jonglebeats, on 03/29/2009, -11/+54I just ***** my pants.
- rpapi100, on 03/29/2009, -9/+51I'm Canadian and I can't help thinking 2 things:
- either your trolling
- either your retarded
For posting Canada > U.S. stuff on a U.S. site. Even if I would agree with you that socialized medicine and education for all is better than privatized medicine and education for some, there is a trade off (quality, access time, research and development initiatives) and these kind of statements need facts to back them up or they are pointless (as my last parenthesis).
Nationalism is a plague, as religion, something that irrationally divides men and exacerbate a tribe mentality that directly descends from the cavemen and that justifies all the us vs. them kind of reasoning. Evolve. - nukeleearr, on 03/29/2009, -2/+43I'd rather my taxes go to Healthcare / Education then fighting wars in 3rd world countries. At least our government took a firm stance on Iraq after being called 'Terrorists' indirectly by Bush ... look how that one turned out.
- orias6891, on 03/29/2009, -2/+43Who says the americans wanted any one to find it?
- 42Vindictive, on 03/29/2009, -1/+39ARGUING ON THE INTERNET IS FUN AND REWARDING
- anteyekon4myst, on 03/29/2009, -3/+41You're assuming that taxes are bad. If they provide affordable health care and education and think they are worth while.
- arvvvs, on 03/29/2009, -22/+58The Canadians found this? Not the Americans?
more proof America's falling behind. - Tiak, on 03/29/2009, -3/+38"...and strictly forbids cybercrime", (...but implicitly protects any cybercriminals wanted by outsiders operating within the great firewall of China.)
- gamebittk, on 03/29/2009, -2/+33http://lmgtfy.com/?q=china+tibet
- dirtyhipster, on 03/29/2009, -4/+34I normally don't say things like this but, on the right hand side of the page theres this exact same story, because it was submitted yesterday.
- juliandunbar11, on 03/29/2009, -1/+30conjunction junction, what's your function
- tim04, on 03/29/2009, -5/+32I would rather have taxes than the mess down in the states.
- phoomp, on 03/29/2009, -3/+29Just look at how many Canadians are in the top positions at NASA.
- alpha88, on 03/29/2009, -3/+28milk in bags ftmfw.
- jaytek13, on 03/29/2009, -4/+27And yet the US will still look the other way, while Biden comments that we will continue the pointless sanctions against Cuba.
- Awezing, on 03/29/2009, -1/+23sKiLLa182,
That was a good reply but if you remember, the British people came over to Canada as settlers and were then referenced as Canadians. So really, during the war of 1812 they were all British/Canadian. - spepin, on 03/29/2009, -1/+23We have milk in bags AND in cartons.
- gabbagabba, on 03/29/2009, -2/+21Canadians also caught the first Soviet Spies, essentially starting the whole cold war.
- atezun, on 03/29/2009, -1/+20In eastern Canada, milk comes in bags. We have plastic jugs in the west.
- martron3000, on 03/29/2009, -2/+21It's probably a safe bet that the US Government is hacking into Chinese and other countries' computers as well, but are just better at keeping their activities secret.
- vaeldas, on 03/29/2009, -1/+19FTA:
They found no evidence U.S. government offices were breached
How about that huh? - Rollleft, on 03/29/2009, -1/+19That's because Diefennbaker didn't have the guts to complete the Avro Arrow.
- sneaker98, on 03/29/2009, -2/+20Don't worry, world. We Canadians have your back :)
- rpapi100, on 03/29/2009, -3/+20 @ Moxley:
Sorry, English is my second language, however if you feel misspelling a word ''ruins'' my case then I feel sorry for you.
In French we have this saying: '' Don't trip on the flower patterns of your carpet'' (ne t'enfarge pas dans les fleurs de ton tapis).
In one word: Trivial. - habfan29, on 03/29/2009, -0/+15Now there is something that will cause national outrage up here!
- Dom902, on 03/29/2009, -0/+15HAHAHAHAH
- robdiggity, on 03/29/2009, -3/+17actually, it's more simple than that. Chinese Government = Liars.
- moxley, on 03/29/2009, -0/+14Actually the CIA has quite an interest in every country.
- inactive, on 03/29/2009, -2/+16Such as resident spam kings hacking or buying private servers in Canada and California using stolen CC accounts and ID's..
Then using iframes on hacked servers to conceal direct links to folders containing Trojans. Eventually Google block them but by then the damage is done.
How much was that spam guy in China worth, 80 million US?
He could buy a seat in government with that...
Isn't that how China works? More money more power? - WilliamAdama, on 03/29/2009, -1/+15'A spokesman for the Chinese Consulate in New York dismissed the idea China was involved. "These are old stories and they are nonsense," the spokesman, Wenqi Gao, told the Times. "The Chinese government is opposed to and strictly forbids any cybercrime."'
Wow that's convincing. So we just learned it was the Chinese that headed this spy network. - inactive, on 03/29/2009, -1/+14To be fair, these weren't spies, they were researchers, who I would say, regardless of nationality, are often retarded in matters such as espionage or talking to girls.
- WilliamAdama, on 03/29/2009, -2/+15That's what happens when the Americans are jealous. But it would be nice if ppl could just be like "good job Canada"...
- phoomp, on 03/29/2009, -1/+14Do you think *any* country with a half-decent intelligence network isn't doing this?
- alpha88, on 03/29/2009, -4/+17He's a douchebag, but not for those reasons.
- PrettyGreen, on 03/29/2009, -0/+13Where do the good healthcare, education and social safety net come from? Government needs to tax us to get the money for that *****. If they keep making that stuff better (and stop wasting it on vacations for politicians), I'm all in favour of higher taxes.
Also--by your logic, I guess Americans never fought for their independence--technically you were a bunch of British colonies at the time. Right? - fr0mundacheese, on 03/29/2009, -3/+16NSA Eh?
- Tek12, on 03/29/2009, -0/+12skynet.ca ?
