- gregh3285, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The pictures aren't great, but the idea of what they're doing is creative. That's what matters. The hacker needn't have a 7-Megapixel camera to have a good hack. :-)
- bndocksnt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1newtonke, you are completely missing the point of the article. doing something yourself isn't always about saving the money (although is usually part of the motivation), sometimes its about proving to yourself that you can. furthermore, there's nothing tackier than somebody who insists on pointing out what they consider "pocket change." i wouldn't be surprised if you were sitting on a public computer at the library, spouting off about how much money you have. oh, yeah, pick the "$" or bucks, you really don't need to put both.
- lehmon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Some of us don't have 25 bucks just lying around. However, some of us do have a local gas station and some tin snips and maybe an extra 2 bucks. The point of this article is to find a way other than buying shims online. Kudos to surbo for figuring out a cheap solution.
- surbo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0new photos are up =)
- newtonke, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0You get 5 sets for $25 bucks, sell them to your friends for 6 bucks a piece. It ends up costing a buck...The method here uses really soft metal, it won't work well past the first time. If the spring is strong on the lock, it won't work then even. The shims are high tensile steel, they don't break...If you don't have $25 bucks, I don't want you buying it anyway though, cause you'll just steal something anyways....;P
- directandy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0guess what 25 bucks is not exactly change for everyone. im happy it is for you but i would love to just have 25 bucks laying around
- newtonke, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This isn't a big deal at all. You can buy "Lock Shims" for $25 bucks and they last a lot better than that. You get 5 sets, so you can sell it to your friends and off-set the cost.

- joseph, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yeah, it's a little more difficult when you actually use a MASTERLOCK and not some cheap-o one, masterlocks are a bit tighter fit at the locking portion and makes it incredibly harder to get metal in.
- cainrok, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i need a master key for the padlocks not combonation locks
i have about 130 padlocks to find keys to
so it would be awesome to get a master key for those - pajama, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I dont know why, but in the video, there is sound but no picture
- surbo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The metal from the fuse box is very strong. I have used it over 3 hrs and still has not cracked. =)
- gronne, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Anyone tried it?
- G-RaZoR, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0No thanks, I don't want to go to your BLOG sahaskatta
- surbo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Traffic is very high- please be patient
- Armitage, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Surbo did some checking and..."
Why is surbo talking like Bob Dole? - a_gremlin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"i need a master key for the padlocks not combonation locks"

- lokai, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0I don't understand how some people don't have twenty-five dollars laying around. Twenty-five dollars is pocket change. I do agree that this is a great article. Before shelling out money for something, it is always great to find a cheaper way to accomplish the same task. Still, I would worry if a person does not have twenty-five bucks laying around. I wonder if I can acheive the same results with all of the scrap aluminum I have from a gutter job I recently finished.
