Billing records for 2.2 million Utah patients stolen

heraldextra.com — SALT LAKE CITY -- Billing records of 2.2 million patients at the University of Utah Hospitals and Clinics were stolen from a vehicle after a courier failed to immediately take them to Perpetual Storage Inc. The sheriff believes the thief probably thought the box contained money. The driver worked who had worked 18 years for the company was fired.

  • Cybermaul, on 06/11/2008, -0/+0My question is - why didn't the courier just take the records to the deposit point? Any kind of loose end can and will get exploited at the most inopportune time. This is a perfect example of Murphey's Law in action.
