We fought in the revolution against England because we believed in the right of Habeus Corpus and other principles and rights we as individuals wanted and needed to protect us from our own government. When the government fails to protect them, or worse, as in the case of Bush and the puppets on the right, *actively works to destroy them*, we're supposed to take our support away and get ourselves a new government which once again protects our rights. The Constitution only says that it can only be suspended under only certain situations, such as rebellion or invasion. The concept there was not to hold people forever, but that in the case of open warfare we may not have the time to manage a full judicial load. The problem is the Constitution calls it a privilege, so it is less than a right. That wording was what the anti-patriot Gonzalez used to attack it.

BUT what people fail to realize is LAWS are meaningless. they are simply words on paper or bytes on hard drives. They have NO value NO power NO real meaning.
Laws are nothing ENFORCEMENT is everything. While the Patriot Acts and Mill Comm act are NOT United States Law (they are illegal and VOID on inception) they CAN be illegal ENFORCED against out will.
