Ha-Ha! - mccarron, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9According to Apple, these fixes were the result of an internal audit. The audit was the result of the accusations by SecureWorks, but SecureWorks has yet to disclose to Apple any evidence of their hack.
" Apple said the issues found were the result of an internal audit of the software drivers and that no known exploits exist for the issues addressed in this update."
"Apple has maintained that SecureWorks has provided no proof that Mac drivers are vulnerable in any way."

- deadbaby, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Nice. This appears to have also fixed the wireless drop outs that happened when running on battery.
- laserdisc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Apple is human after all. I don't believe any OS is 100% invulnerable. From what I can tell it just stands that Mac OS X and Linux lead the pack in desktop operating system security. I'm also glad to know Apple isn't resting on their laurels waiting for a vulnerability to be discovered from 3rd parties.
- iAlex, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Why a "?", "!".
- TyrannousDotNet, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3thanks again apple!
- arthurbarnhouse, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3how could the other one be a dup? It was posted earler, and got to the front page earlier.
- zip22, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1it wasn't posted earlier. this one was posted earlier, thus making the other one the duplicate.
- saxjazman9, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3yea, yea, we know :):)... I was at the talk... i had to post it for my mac junky friends who didn't beleive me... even though i was ummm there....
vegas is great. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3Yes ... you're right, there were no bugs because it's Apple and they're invulnerable.
4th paragraph from your link, with free subtitles!
“Today’s update preemptively strengthens our drivers against potential vulnerabilities"
[Apple found vulnerabilities during their audit]
"addresses issues found internally by Apple"
[Multiple vulnerabilities]
"we are open to hearing from security researchers on how to improve security on the Mac.”
[There's probably more, please let us know if you find some.] - abyssknight, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Doesn't everyone know IF(stristr($diggtitle, "apple") !== FALSE){ $my_story = new DupeStory("apple","flaw"); } else { $my_story = new AjaxStory("google","web 2.0", "poker chips"); } ?
- soopafly, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1"Yes ... you're right, there were no bugs because it's Apple and they're invulnerable."
Wow! Good job. You wanna cookie? - arthurbarnhouse, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3Is there a specific reason this needs to be on the front page twice?

- haxorthematrix, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2Hey, it was just in case everyone forgot. Some people actually believed Cache and Maynor - like us.
- nstanosheck, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1The other one is the dup, not this one. Go complain there! :-)
