Why workflows bite

itworld.com — In a recent article, Sean McGrath ponders why so many machine-readable workflows are abandoned by organizations. The bottom line: is that 'workflows - even very complex ones - can be gross over-simplifications of the real world' and when it comes to workflows, extrapolating from the simple case to the complex case 'can bite you real hard.'
