There is a whole world of plugins out there. - xtr3m, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6It seems that Wordpress is another magic word on digg... Argh! I better shut up and compile a list of my own top 10 digged words!
- headzoo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Meh. There are much better plugins out there.
- ShaolinTiger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yah you can skin it however you want, there's an alternative called Tiger.
http://orderedlist.com/articles/wordpress-administration-design-tiger/ - Crest444, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Like which one?
- TugsMcgroin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3The ordered list plugin can be easily hacked to allow anyone to redirect your feed to anywhere they want. Use AntiLeech plugin instead which not only redirects your feed to feedburner, it also helps protect your blog from scrapers (http://asymptomatic.net/2006/09/22/2833/help-defeat-the-sploggers-with-antileech/).
Also, I think everyone should be using Digital FingerPrint for wordpress, which helps you identify sites that have scraped your content. Shameless self link -- http://www.maxpower.ca/wordpress-plugin-digital-fingerprint-detecting-content-theft/2006/09/25/ - firehydra2k, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3sigh* pretty much
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6Then why even click on the article in the first place?
- Crest444, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The Feedburner plugin is the one recommended by Feedburner themself.
- irregardless, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Ooo, a subjective 10 Ten list. This ought to be exciting!
Snarkiness aside, I love wordpress and already use 6 of those 10 plugins. - simg, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3maybe, some people aren't tired of them ?
- fatdog789, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Why are you trying to use WP from a mobile device? That's like trying to drive a tractor trailer with an RC remote.
You could do it, but you're using the wrong tool. - headzoo, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5"Oh Thanks! I'll check those out!"
Personally I really dislike Akismit, since you're forced to get an API code to use it. I've had great luck with Bad Behavior, and Spam Karma (http://unknowngenius.com/blog/wordpress/spam-karma/). I really don't know why people keep cheering for Akismit.
Plus Akismit has a centralized server that does go down, leaving your blog wide open. - TugsMcgroin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2"...having looked at the code for that plugin, there is no freaking way I would ever run that on my server. From what I can tell, I can reset your site’s feedburner redirect to whatever I want with about 2 minutes of from-scratch coding."

- johnburk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Some good plugins. thanks
- Crest444, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Oh Thanks! I'll check those out!
- techguru2006, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0http://adahas.com/work/intouch/ is a good one too. Allows people to create a Contact Form.
- Otto, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Spam Karma is way too annoying to continually deal with. I prefer the combination of Bad Behavior and Akismet. Bad Behavior is zero maintainance, it just makes a ton of spam stop showing up. Akismet then catches those that get through anyway.
Yes, you need an API key, but spending the 2 minutes to sign up for a wordpress.com account and get your own key is not all that big of a deal, really.
And Akismet's servers have only been down like once in the last year. If they do go down, it just means incoming messages go to the moderation queue. Big deal. - firehydra2k, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4why do these types of stories have to liter the front pages?
- westyvw, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Does that page work with Safari, kause it dont work with Konq. So much for internet standards....must get more plugins for non standard display....and I even like Wordpress
- RadiatedAnt, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3Title correction it should be ¨The Top 10 Bestest Wordpress Plugins¨
- kennyvader, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1Is there a plugin to make wordpress in general any good?
What's with that daft massive font it uses on all the admin pages and on their website? In fact is there any way to skin the admin interface? Every time you go to "add a new blog entry" it downloads 352kb - it's basically unusable on mobile devices. - xtr3m, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1Maybe in a hope that it isn't?..
- slicedoranges, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2An article about how to stop WordPress hacks would've been better... it's notoriously easy to exploit.
- firehydra2k, on 10/12/2007, -10/+3Another self-centered digg post. Can't we have something more constructive like major plug-ins that blocks security holes or ones that makes Wordpress possibly easier to use (if it's hard for people already). Damn, I'm tired of these annoying biased "top" ten lists.
- IEEE1394, on 10/12/2007, -12/+1He made me DIGG it :P
