- merreborn, on 10/10/2007, -2/+17Lists like these are pretty useless. They list a half dozen frameworks. How about at least comparing them, and listing a few pros and cons? As is, this isn't any more useful than googling "PHP frameworks".
- resplence, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Every Mashable article titled "[something] Toolbox" is like that.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5if u really don't care, you'll go even further and find this comment!
- drunkendash, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6What I fail to understand here is why we need the launch of WP 2.3 as motivation for this list of PHP tools.
You would think updating your WP themes would be pretty far down on the list of things to get you into learning PHP. - leighmac, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3My old website site made the list. Hooray for me :)
- shinynew, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5no one cares.
- ForbesBingley, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Some people don't like the Mashable "Top [x] list of..." articles, but I think some of them are pretty good. Save scrounging around, sometimes...
- Otto, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2You'd be surprised. Quite a lot of people start learning PHP simply so they can fiddle with some PHP webapp they're using. WordPress is pretty high on that list.
- aniltc, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1its going to be a good start. This is what i was looking for.

- cdiddy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1PHP is a pretty easy language to pick up, although skilled, secure coding gets overlooked by a lot of beginners.
The funnest way to learn PHP, for me, was just using the good old PHP docs and a lot of experimenting. Most pre-written frameworks are bloated and unnecessary. I like building my own, and including only what I need. Then again, PHP is my hobby, not career. - splatzone, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1You should keep making them, or make some Ruby ones!
To anyone else I'd highly recommend watching them - I learned a lot. http://www.phpvideotutorials.com - shinynew, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11. you said you'll so why skimp out on the 'yo' earlier?
2. that would so that i care what people say to me, not necessarily what that other person said.
3. touché - Roagie, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1probably just a way to get traffic to Mashable's website. They first create a very basic 'article' on their site, then they list it on Digg throwing in buzzwords that Digg users are interested in ("wordpress", "PHP", "Toolbox"). The result is increased traffic (traffic = ad revenue). In short, the answer to your pondering is money.
- chiology, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2This really is a terrible list for beginners. To start, the very first link, the Canvas framework, is going to be awkward and difficult for those not familiar with programming to use since it requires knowledge of OOP and certain design patterns. And this really applies to several of the links. Other links are just useless scripts and neato tricks that really don't teach much.
To learn how to program, buy a book. Really, that's the best way to learn because they are geared at teaching you how to program. - Spider84, on 10/14/2007, -0/+0Rather good list of web resources about PHP. Thanks.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2digg this article, it mentions php and the number 20... that is a pretty big number of php stuffz.. must be good!!!!!
- inactive, on 10/13/2007, -2/+2Actually,

- BobMysterioso, on 10/10/2007, -10/+1in my defense.. I was here first. I totally clicked it sooner, but let it sit for like 5 minutes while I was interrupted by work. this post clogs the tubes.
- sega01, on 10/13/2007, -11/+2Slightly off topic, but is anyone going to have a comment that doesn't get dugg down?
- BobMysterioso, on 10/13/2007, -10/+1I think relevant comments might fare better. But this isn't one of them either.
Ron Paul hates mashable.com! - JoaoPe, on 10/13/2007, -13/+2Frontpage with "0 Comments"?
And a spectacular post using a social news website linking to another social news website... nice! - fujofly, on 10/13/2007, -14/+1Ron Paul loves PHP and he loves freedom. http://www.ronpaul2008.com
