- capiCrimm, on 10/12/2007, -4/+92WTF!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+55sounds weaker, not quite the same feeling of failure...
- Akaji, on 10/12/2007, -3/+50I really liked the name "The Daily WTF" - it had a nice ring to it, and it made for some great comments. "Worse Than Failure"? That's ... lame.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+34homosexual.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+32This isn't the 3rd grade. Try using other words to tell us how you feel.
- DaveManDave, on 10/12/2007, -2/+27Are they scared of the word *****?
- jedioniram, on 10/12/2007, -1/+26I thought WTF stood for Work Time Fun... now I'm confused...
- m0laria, on 10/12/2007, -2/+27No, but their grandmas are.
- sishgupta, on 10/12/2007, -2/+20Yeah I have to admit that I don't like it as much.
As long as the content doesn't change (and they say it won't) I really don't care. - Cl1mh4224rd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13"Don ’t worry – nothing else is changing – it’s still the same ole’ WTF."
No, actually, it isn't... and it hasn't been for quite a few months before the name-change. There's so little code and so much more rambling stories. There's these little "plugs" tacked on to the end of each post. It actually makes me kind of angry, which is why I stopped reading the site.
"Worse Than Failure" seems appropriate at this point... - dreamlayers, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14Yeah, WTF?!?! This renaming is worse than failure!
- marnaq, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11spencewah, me too. let's hug.
- Otto, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9The content will change. Why? Because the owner sold out. The quality has really deteriorated as of late, what with him pushing his idiotic job hunt thing as well as adding advertisements and sponsors and such. There have been at least 3 articles in the last week that were just thinly disguised advertisements for one thing or another.
The reason for the name change is simple: "*****" is not business friendly, and the guy sold out to big business.
Worse than failure is what the site has become. It's dead. This is just renaming the corpse. - spencewah, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10I like the word backronymed
- DBCA, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9It will always be "The Daily WTF" to me. Just like the Wii will always be... um... whatever it used to be called.
- binaryspiral, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8It was lie anyway... it was never updated daily.
Still number three on my list of live feeds to check in the AM while I'm supposed to be working. - HappyScrappy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Agreed. It hasn't been the "same ole' WTF" since they stopped posting daily code snippets on the front page, thus moving away from the programming aspect to just complaints about how companies are screwed up.
If I wanted to hear stories of corporate mismanagement, I'd read Dilbert. - travereno, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Worse than failure? that has no ring to it, WTF is with that? and by WTF i mean of course "What the *****"
- InsideTheAsylum, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7You can still go to "thedailywtf.com". For those of you who didn't read the link, the reason they switched the name (or at least, one of the reasons) was that it was kind of hard to explain in polite company what 'wtf' stood for so they backronymed it to 'Worse than failure'.
- airmann90, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Anybody else read this as "The Daily WTF now named 'Worse than Failure'" as if it was being criticized?
- Akaji, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8"although i never went there in the first place."
And it is better off because of that. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -7/+13Should be "The Daily Who Gives a *****".
- Fortyseven, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Because the population of the internet comprises more than just yourself, and there are people in that group you are not included in, who read that site on a regular basis.
- altjeringa, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8*****
- spectre_25gt, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Yeah. This is like when I first found out about the "Wii". Hopefully it'll grow on me the same way. I'm happy he kept the logo!
- blueigloo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5This is truly a sad day in geek history =( Not cool Mr. Alex, not cool at all...
- RudMan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5"Worse than Failure"? What a lame name change.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Why not just keep the name TheDailyWTF and claim the "WTF" part stands for "worse than failure" if he's so upset about it?
This blows, I need my daily hit of WTF! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6"Worse Than Failure"
Is it just me, or does this name change sound like nothing but an open call for tDWTF to turn political? :( - VolcomT3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3the "real" WTF is better then this pussified WTF.
- Cl1mh4224rd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Seems they've gotten rid of the plugs. In fact, a lot has changed along with the name. Most of the posts on the front page used to be short works of fiction (i.e. the "WTF U" series) rather than real-life.

Weaker... I guess if it doesn't affect anything else, it doesn't matter.. - NipGrip, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2He jumped the shark over what his grandma thinks? Grow some balls, you had them when you originally named the site.
- moojj, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Boring name.
- panique, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Great! ***** jackasses just made my WTF T-Shirt obsolete.
- adolfojp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1panique: "Great! ***** jackasses just made my WTF T-Shirt obsolete."
Not really. They made it a collector's item. ;-) - Dustin00, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I thought it was named after the 3rd boolean: What the File-not-found
- Hayaemsay, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is worse, what a failure.
- Nurjle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Why the ***** didn't they just leave it as it was, but tell people who can't stand the word '*****' that it stood for 'Worse Than Failure'?
Then they could have enjoyed wasting endless hours explaining WTF 'Worse Than Failure' means. - ellisgl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I used to look at The Daily WTF - but then they disapeared for over a month.. WTF!?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2FAIL
- geekosis, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1IMO Google Adsense is not friends of f-words so there you go. Good luck "WTF".
- vikings999, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0This is worse, what a failure.
http://megryan1.bravehost.com - tr0gd0rr, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Why didn't they just change it to "What the Freak?"
- supersan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1its definitely weak... the original domain name was better because it was like an expression than a name.. more like, hey, look wtf!
this new one doesn't have that, sorry :/ - godnews, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0very nice story :)
http://games.gwafi.com - NoNameHere, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Well THAT took a while to hit the front page. Looks like nobody really cares.
- M0b1u5, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Crap policy to rename.
Crap web site redesign.
Crap stories.
Shame. - dubsi, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1wtfpeople.com for real WTF? material.
